This is really a helpful video. Understanding the field of engineering is important before applying .
Thank you, Debarati! We have more guides about majors on the way.
I graduated with a degree in electrical engineering in 1996. To this day, it is the hardest thing I have ever done. Just to give everyone a window into how difficult it was: in year two, I counted how many students were in my electrical engineering class. There were 65. At graduation, I checked to see how many of us made it to graduation on time with no failures on our record; there were eleven of us. A few graduated a year late due to repeating courses. Others transferred to other majors like Computer Science or Math. And a large number simply dropped out.
Not to dissuade those that might be considering a career in electrical engineering. But it is no cake walk. I think the only engineering major that might be more difficult is Aerospace.
It's definitely a hard choice!
Coming from an aerospace engineering student, these are the paths you can follow as an aerospace engineer in most universities:
- Vehicles (planes, helicopters, missiles, rockets...)
- Propulsion (mostly engines of all of the above)
- Aeronautical and aerospace materials
- Airports
- Navigation systems
It is a beautiful degree but it is also quite difficult!
I'm glad you're enjoying it!
Underrated! Hope this channel to blow up!
Liked and subscribed!
Thank you brother!
One of the best videos ive seen about engineering majoring
Very informative. Kudos!
Very detailed explanation, love this channel already
And we love you right back! Thank you for being a fan!
@8:41 So you've completed one of the most difficult majors in engineering - Chemical Engineering, only to get a title of maintenance manager??!!! Wow, that's a real slap across the face!!!
really helpful. thanks.
you are welcome!
Nice content bro. Keep the good work.
Thank you! Hope we can help you more!
Thank you so much
Great presentation with beneficial information.
Hands down best video on the topic
Thank you so much! Glad to have your support.
I was thinking of electrical engineering or civil engineering. Thanks for the video.
Thank you
You are welcome!
best info
Thank you for the kind words!
It’s safer to pursue a major that gives u specialization. It is a huge motivation for students to know the industry they are heading toward. At the least one should have the interest defined early on and tailor the courses accordingly within the major.
If you have a good idea of what you want to do, specialization is amazing. However, it's important to remember that some skills, like good communication, are valuable no matter what career path you're on.
I can't decide on mechanical or civil I love to build staff but also love things that move like trains and planes and cars
What story do your extracurricular activities do a better job of supporting?
You missed Mechatronic Engineering.
Some one give me critical and good advice. I'm currently doing electrical engineering but my passion is planes. So should a transfer to areospace? Aerospace engineering has a relative low pay compared to electrical and is not as versatile
Transfer to ME, you’re options will be greater.
Electrical electronic engineering. Please what are the courses under electrical electronic engineering
It will depend on the college you pick; each program varies slightly. But you can bet on having a lot of math in your first two years!
Which industry is the potential employer for Computer Engineers?
Is it the companies that produce or extensively use computer related hardware and IT infrastructure?
Computer engineers are employed by companies that design computers, but they're also employed in industries that need to run large networks, such as hospitals.
So the list was going from hardest to easiest?
Is the list ordered from harder to easier? So EE is the hardest and then CE, the only careers I was thinking about
Nope. It’s a generalized list. I think “harder to easier” is subjective, so you give you a targeted but broad list.
@@jasonpatel13 oh ok, thank you for the video
Difference between electronics and electrical engineering, I don't know what to choose I'm switching course s
Electrical engineer deals with high voltage and electronic deals with small voltage instrument
Currently perusing electronics and communication engineering, you need to have a good base knowledge about both hardware and software, subjects like analog digital communication, embedded sys, control sys, microprocessor microcontrollers computer architecture, circuit theory, computer networks, power electronics with good grasp on physics and maths
I am in grade 10 and i want to be a engineer but i have no idea which one
Keep exploring, reading, and chasing your interests. You will figure it out in no time!
That's fine. Most engineering students actually pick their specific area of study around the start of the second year. It varies from institution to institution though.
Anyways, you have a lot of time. Just keep being involved and you'll be fine.
I'm graduating this year and my brother who graduated in EE forcing me to get that major to 😔
You will do just fine!
I’m in EE rn. This video scares me.... welp, med school it is. :)
James, do NOT be afraid! Worrying gets nothing done. Use this as motivation - you have a worthwhile challenge ahead of you, one that will make you a better man.
Lol isn't Med school harder?
@@MeGigantorzMon it is and it's longer
All are hard. Mesh mohem sa3ib aw hayen mohem money. Work your whole life to live better
Yeah, most engineering programs are hard to get into.
Is it engineering and computer engineering the same Pls help
Hey there, computer engineering is a part of the broader engineering field. Engineering is the broad field while there are many smaller niches within it, like computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, etc.
Thanks
what about mechatronic?????
As an interdisciplinary field, it's not found at many universities yet. :)
Me in civil engineering about to shit my pants because I have to take dynamics ;-;
How did you fare?
@@jasonpatel13 might not even take it until next year based on how I'm doing right now
What about civil engineering
Civil is easy asf lmao it should be in the "easiest engineering degree" video
@@eks_0 That's not true.
Unless ofc u've majored in it before.
@@eks_0 That's not true.
Unless ofc u've majored in it before.
why i saw this vedio now
You forgot one which I think is a MUST on this list
- Petroleum Engineering
And since 3 weeks ago, for the first time in the world, coming from UNSW in Australia
- Quantum Engineering
(Still very new, but it’s legitimately quantum mechanics mixed with electrical engineering)
I think this new engineering degree, can easily take the cake. I’ll stick to my mechanical discipline tho.
Thank you for the feedback! We'll them in our part 2 video :)
Those are just specializations in Electrical Engineering and Chemical Engineering. If you narrow down your degree, your degree becomes watered down. You learn less Engineering Science courses.
Petroleum Engineering is mostly chemical and mechanical.
Quantum engineering is basically applied physics, they’re more akin to scientists or researchers.
Sir, Which major is best
Aeronautical
Electrical
I love both, which would you say it's better pls,I can't choose between them
If you can handle abstraction EE, but Aerospace is decent as well. Keep in Aerospace is just M.E. with direction application. Look at what kind of work you see yourself doing or companies that interest you and work backwards.
I wanna do it engineering is it easy?
No
Did you watch the video? If you are pursuing Engineering because you're actually passionate about it then you can make it through.
@@adamharoon6021 lmao having passion is 25% the battle. You also need to be very disciplined in how you use your time as well as how much you study. Some of the material is easy but requires hours upon hours to do.
@@aignia5385 If you actually enjoy the material, you're likely to put the work in
If you're just going into it just for the money or job opportunity... good luck :)
reverse engineering alien tech is not easy also
:D
in my opinion, professors are some of the rudest people in society. they suck at helping and I think they also hate helping to. they always think that they can do whatever they want. but guess what? THEY CAN NOT!!! and worst of all, they don't care about your mental health because technically their job is to destroy the mental health of students by yelling at them, swearing at them (sometimes), giving WAY too much work, making harsh comments about students when they fail, calling horrible names like loser, worthless, pathetic, useless, dumb, etc. to me, I think it is so rare to find a professor that is actually GOOD! one that can care about you, help you with any problems with both academics, and your mental health, using clean language and not swearing, teaching at the easiest level, tell students that they are amazing people and that they are proud of them. It's even more rare to find a professor that will treat you like a best friend. but most of the time. students have to deal these "teachers" that are not actually teachers and going through near impossible stuff to get the dream job they want. this is completely just MY OWN opinion. feel absolutely free to disagree.
Many professors truly care about their students. I'm sorry that hasn't been your experience.
