The H&K VP70 was the first polymer striker fired pistol. It predated Glock by 12 years. It had an 18 round magazine. I believe there were striker fired pistols that predate the H&K, however.

For range fun i can use different brands but for edc with my life and the life of my loved ones needs to be protected an unmodified glock is what i use. Btw in my country glocks come with oem night sights so it is not mandatory to change them 😂
@Line45 I feel it’s worth mentioning that the H&K VP9 is definitely one I’d add to this list. It’s the most accurate weapon I’ve ever fired. I don’t compare anything with Glock. When they came out I decided they look like a block of plastic with terrible grip angle. I saw the S&W M&P shield, shot it, then bought it. I’ve loved M&P’s ever since. The first time I shot it at Black Ash in Pa., I shot a score better than I had for a long time. People watching asked how I could hit those long distances with a three inch barrel, I told them it just feels good in my hands. It’s still my concealed carry choice. If I’m going somewhere a little dicey I will take the 3.6” compact, the triggers on these guns are surprisingly good.
Can’t beat H&K. I’m 53 and bought a H&K USP 40 Compact when I was probably 21. My H&K was $515 out the door it’s been carried and shot probably in excess of 20,000 rounds and is still a tack driver and functioning flawlessly. Shortly after I bought it Glock came around Gunshops were selling them for $250. Within a couple of years I bought two Glocks because of all the hype. Anyway I own quite a collection of guns and the only guns I’ve ever sold were the two Glocks. Not that they were bad they did everything a pistol should do but to much plastic manufactured in them and just always felt cheaply made in my opinion. I currently have pretty good stash of handguns mainly Sig, H&K and S&W. The best handgun for me has to be my new Sig 365 x macro Tacops I shoot it the best due to my hand and finger size it just fits me like a glove. But to each their own this is just my experience and opinion. Would I carry a Glock during a hostile takeover? Absolutely! Would it function as well as anything else? Absolutely. No doubt that Glock has proven to be a tough sidearm.

I EDC a Arex Delta M in a Fanny pack from 511 with 2 15 round Magazines, One in the Handgun and the other in one of the pouches within the fanny pack. Even though my Taurus PT92 is my prefered Handgun choice, I can always depend on my Arex Delta M and glad to have gotten a great deal for it.
No it didn’t out perform the Glock. YOU may have peformed better with it than you can with a Glock, but it didn’t outperform the Glock. The LAPD is having problems with their 509s. Sorry.

@@Bag514 You never know what endured problems with a gun when it comes to military and LE testing. I like the 509. Also like the trigger on the Canik. The new flat face trigger on the M&P M2.0 line is exceptionally good also.
The arex delta is an awesome gun. I have a bunch of glocks and even more sigs but love the arex. The delta, zero and the alpha are as good or better than their more expensive counterparts
Glock was the first to come out with the so-called plastic gun. No one would build a plastic gun for themselves until Glock proved it was a good thing. It is easier for manufacturers to build upon the Glock and say there’s better. I challenge gun manufacturers instead of building off the Glock. To manufacturer a whole new gun that is better Glock.
I've been really interested in picking one of those the sights look cool to me but im not convinced theyre.. better(?) than traditional 3 dot. especially being non-illuminated. so idk if i would just go straight to the 3-dot night sight option. gonna rent one soon and try it out but somebody told me that he found the triangle sights obscured the target for him. they do seem easy to acquire to me but i wish they were fiber optic or something in the front at least, rather than all white front and back.
@@SmokesKwazukii To me they are much easier to put on target than 3 dot sights. Best gun I've ever shot, super accurate and low recoil. Also the grips that come w/ it are great and really allow you to customize the feel. As the guy who works for Steyr and was Glocks armorer for 7 years said. The Steyr is what a Glock wants to be when it grows up.

I shoot my pdp way faster than my canik, it’s a duty pistol it’s got a stepped chamber for higher pressure and ergonomics that return it to zero very fast. The faster I shoot it the flatter I shoot it
So many hate on Glock and companies trying to dethrone Glock. Why do you think that is? Theres a lot of great handguns out there (all inspired by Glock) but thats a good thing. Try them all and choose what works best for you. Its really that simple. There's no 'best" gun. It doesn't have to be all guns vs the Glock.
Glocks are like iphones.... The were the first, Cheaper than metal gun and more Reliable at the time. So of course they have a cult following and a lotta fanboyism.... That just isnt the case anymore. They are in most cases not the cheapest and not much has change since the original . They have competition now and a lot of them better options. Right out of the box, You have to mod them sure a stock glock will get you what you need but A lot of these options feels better right out of the box. Yea they were the originators but so was the Model T Ford.

I like Glocks but I feel like their price for what you get is a bit high. Yeah basically everything now is a Glock clone but pdp, vp9, m&p 2.0 all do the same with better ergos for about the same price. I carry a g19 but if I was buying all over I'd get the 2.0 4" compact over it. Reliability and durability has been standard for awhile now just pick the one that feels the best.
pdp definitely doesnt have the best trigger unless your comparing it to glock trigger(understandable) but you did just put a canik in this video👀 best triggers hands down and i dont own one!!

When you compare reliability + accuracy + resilience + capacity + after market parts availability + price it's very hard to outperform Glock. Sure glock haters will come up with their suggestions based on subjective opinions not on facts. Springfield Armory Echelon is close competition.
I love my Canik SFX but it is NOT a ccw!!! This pistol compares closer to the Glock 34 for anyone interested. They offer an SF (g19 size) and SFT (g17)

Any of those handguns are as good as Glock. In fact, the Arex Delta is an improved Glock. For sure, the *Walther PDP, CZ P10, Canik METE SFT, and Sig Sauer p320* are above Glock. Of course, fanatical Glock brand loyalists go unhinged every time that someone says: Glock is not "perfection," neither "the best."

I prefer a hammer fired pistol and with an exterior safety..I have a Taurus TH9c that will compete with a Glock any day..accurate , runs flawlessly and easy on the pocketbook..there are good guns out there that don't cost an arm & a leg..it's like paying for either a luxurious name brand car or a Ford economy car the end result is they will both get you there...
@@zy973 My TH9c outshot my Glock 19 in a 50 round each comparison...hit 44 within 2 inches with the Taurus and 37 out of 50 within 3 1/4 " both at 15 yards...Glock jammed twice , Taurus zero..you can always use your Glock as a paperweight ...
SIG is better as a DA/SA over Glock. HnK is better also. No one mentions them because of their cost. If all the major LE Agencies suddenly dropped Glock and went to say CZ, the civilian market would follow. That simple. Glock undercuts alot of other gun companies supplying LE. Giving Glock a run for its money is one thing, but nothing can “outperform” the Glock. Some may run as well, and many may prefer others, but come on. Nothing has proven to be more reliable.
Glock is only where it is cause its cheap out the box. To make it worth a damn you have to spend an extra 1k in after market mods. Many pistols out perform glock. I'm not shitting on glock, I own 10 of them. But they aren't what glock fan boys think they are.
That's why Glock are still the most used and reliable guns. If it's not broke don't change it. They're proven to be one of the best. M&P are nowhere as good as Glock.

Many of them can, but Sig is far more reliable. S&W isn’t that reliable. Capacity and overall durability it tops for Glock. But eating whatever ammunition you feed it can be a issue.
Who cares. Humans like what they like. ANY argument will be biased. Keep it simple. Purchase what YOU prefer and keep it moving. The brand has been around long as it has for a reason, and agencies have utilized them for the same reason as well.

CZP10’s are better than Glocks, imo. P10S better than your G26 P10C I think is better than your 19 And the P10F is a monster hammer of a gun and kills the G17 and their comp verison at 5” is like your G34. Glock will forever be an OG of the game but I think there are brands out there that can keep up with the reliable history through any conditions. M&P & CZ, H&K are great options, that are not glocks + reliable history.

Think I'll just keep my Glocks, these others don't impress me much. Also I love the CZ line of pistols for accuracy and dependability.

CZ P10F and Walther PDP are the only guns I consider in there with Glocks as comparable. Just my personal experience and opinion.

I loved my Glock 19. Great pistol but I recently sold it and got an IWI Jericho Enhanced and I don’t think I’ll go back to Glock

Go with the Steyr L9A2. Very low recoil, the best ergonomics, reliability, beefier than glock, funky quick aquiring sights...

I love my Canik SFX but it is NOT a ccw!!! This pistol compares closer to the Glock 34 for anyone interested. They offer an SF (g19 size) and SFT (g17)

Cause we get tired of hearing how glock is the best gun on the market. As far as asthetics, fit & finish, feel, trigger& sights it's mediocre at best. As I once heard " glock is the best $300 gun $600 will buy".
I have about a half dozen glocks. When I buy a new gun I compare it to my glocks and verify how much better it is over the Glock.
Any of those handguns are as good as Glock. In fact, the Arex Delta is an improved Glock. For sure, the *Walther PDP, CZ P10, Canik METE SFT, and Sig Sauer p320* are above Glock. Of course, fanatical Glock brand loyalists go unhinged every time that someone says: Glock is not "perfection," neither "the best."

I prefer a hammer fired pistol and with an exterior safety..I have a Taurus TH9c that will compete with a Glock any day..accurate , runs flawlessly and easy on the pocketbook..there are good guns out there that don't cost an arm & a leg..it's like paying for either a luxurious name brand car or a Ford economy car the end result is they will both get you there...

SIG is better as a DA/SA over Glock. HnK is better also. No one mentions them because of their cost. If all the major LE Agencies suddenly dropped Glock and went to say CZ, the civilian market would follow. That simple. Glock undercuts alot of other gun companies supplying LE. Giving Glock a run for its money is one thing, but nothing can “outperform” the Glock. Some may run as well, and many may prefer others, but come on. Nothing has proven to be more reliable.
Glock is only where it is cause its cheap out the box. To make it worth a damn you have to spend an extra 1k in after market mods. Many pistols out perform glock. I'm not shitting on glock, I own 10 of them. But they aren't what glock fan boys think they are.
That's why Glock are still the most used and reliable guns. If it's not broke don't change it. They're proven to be one of the best. M&P are nowhere as good as Glock.

Many of them can, but Sig is far more reliable. S&W isn’t that reliable. Capacity and overall durability it tops for Glock. But eating whatever ammunition you feed it can be a issue.
