The two swing bridges between Appley Bridge and Gathurst may look disused but they are used by the local farmer to cross the canal. Despite their appearance they support huge tractor thingamabobs. Pity you missed the charity barge Rose of Parbold which gives trips to special needs and elderly groups along this stretch of canal six days a week. Interesting and enjoyable vlog as always.

Greetings from Nisswa, Minnesota, USA, the land of 10,000 lakes. I have been enjoying your posts for a few reasons. One, living in a place with so many lakes which makes it difficult to get long stretches of road, the waterway connection you have is fascinating. Second, I find the narrowboat an interesting thing. Everyone here has a boat, either a cruiser, runabout, or a sport fishing boat, but nothing like the floating campers (caravans) you have. Third, my family is big on all things England, especially Yorkshire, and in particular, Leeds, where we have friends living. Keep the vlogs coming.

Anneka Rice... Reminds me of the time when Ulrika Johnsson was in the cab of the Routemaster bus I was driving that day. They wanted pictures of her in the Cab... Right palaver getting her in there, then they couldn't see her properly & asked me to remove the escape hatch window. So I'm in this tiny bus cab leaning over Ulrika Johnsson's ample 'endowments'... Hi guys. Nicely done, very calm and well put together. Loved the music totally different but we'll suited .
Stuck over here I really do miss fish and chips. My mind keeps on remembering the last time I had good fish and chips, it was in Cornwall (the name of the town escapes me) but it was just before my mother passed. We got to take her for a walk on the hard and there was a van selling fish and chips. Well let's just say the little tray was about 9x6x2 inches this was over flowing with chips real chips ,and on top of that was a pice of cod which was about 1 1/2 thick by 2 inches at one end about 12 inches long and about 41/2 inches at tother. It was just aussum white flakey fish crunchy batter 1/2 inch thick chips with lashings of salt and vinegar.we sat on a bench eating and fending off shite hawks. and watching the fishing boats come in . Dammed if I can't taste it now.
Anyway thanks for the videos really liked this one ,nice use of Google maps and the drone. well done nice to see Dillon included. Be safe, looking forward to your next video thanks again.

Do you remember George Formby - one of his songs was about Wigan Pier. I’m showing my age, but I think he actually died before I was born, but my parents had all his records.
It’s good to see you are now heading towards Gods own county, when you get to Skipton, forget about fish and chips, there is a pork pie shop there and they are worth dying for.

You have a good balance of canal footage, and interesting information on the various places you stop at. It’s really cool seeing all the history I live just outside Portland Oregon in the Pacific Northwest so weather very similar I think anyway it is growing out of control seriously there building skinny little houses in what ever lot they can and subdivisions that literally arm part away. So nice seeing these old towns don’t get me wrong there are some really neat areas too no 1700 though wow👍👍

How refreshing your presentation is 👍. Very nice vlog today, gentlemen . . . entertaining, informative and beautiful to look at. That's quite a lot for a free service! ;-) It must be wonderful to have someone in passing say they've watched your Ribble Link vlogs and loved them. You're touching people's lives and they're appreciating it. Well done!
The opening sequence where you're talking about what's on the agenda for the immediate future was noteworthy, I thought. And I wonder: How long did you work with Dillon, training him to get to his feet, pose and watch inquisitively after the two of you after you exited camera-left? Heh, just kidding of course, but I am curious to know if someone else was operating the camera for that shot or did you nip around behind it to trigger the zoom-in to Dillon there at the end?
I'm currently at a place with spotty and intermittent wi-fi, so it's not unusual to have lots of unpredictable stops and starts as I watch RUclips. Today, though, I was struck by how often a frozen frame of today's vlog reminded me of a John Constable painting. The countryside you're navigating through and your exceptional photography of it are extraordinary!
Lots of people post crap on RUclips, sadly. Only a handful of presenters are skilled at putting together worthwhile offerings. Among the narrowboaters posting vlogs, there are actually four whom I watch regularly. One is quite amateurish, though the presenters possess an appeal of sorts, and a couple of others are rather well-done (if a bit stilted). One of them is very informative while the other displays a bit of that British dry sense of humor - sorry, "humour". (I'm American).
Your vlogs, though, Colin, are a cut above the best of the others, IMO. Where you also possess exceptional skill that only a few display, I think you also possess that rarest of commodities - Actual Talent!
