Mine was 1990 model black on black 560sel. I bought it in 2005 with only 65,000 original miles and in 2015 slightly below 200,000 miles the car got totaled in an accident. It was a wonderful car in the 80s, it was a wonderful car after the production and it's still the wonderful car today. Next couple of years I plan to buy another one and hopefully keep it as a classic. Beautiful things never get forgotten

Last w126 was one of best cars never built ....whelbase stretched of 4/5 inch give an incredibke beauty in design sublimed by dark coloris......if.a 300/420 S.E of 1979/87 is nice a 500/560 SEL since 1988 is an art masterpiece .. in centimeters old SE lenght was 502cm ...old SEL 516cm...last SEL 528cm if i have good memory
I got a 300 sel from an old I guy I worked with and he told me these were some of the cars the mafia used. So if you spotted one it wasn't because of a good reason.
Der 560SEL ist mein absolutes Lieblingsauto (fuer mich die scoenste Limousine ueberhaupt)er wird immer zeitlos bleiben.Am meisten Eindruck macht es hinten zu sitzen und den "Stern" in ein Paar Metern!! Entfernung vor sich zu haben.

Then I thought (and the 80s tint to the camerawork helps) that in the 80s, when these were new, anyone who owned one would obviously own an airport! And the plane... and maybe the oil refinery that makes the fuel for the plane... and the car for that matter.

One of the cars in the motorcade shows in the film are really armored.
I wish someone with another 126 would follow me in mine going down the road. People would certainly look and stare wondering who it was.
