I have played some busted version on an emulator years ago. Can clearly remember the stage end-dancing sequence with the skull's laugh in the background.
oh dear lord, hahaha, I love how it completely ruins the hardcore military badass vibe of the thing, lol. Also, the fact that this game is over in about a half an hour is a bit sad, considering it's an on rails shooter and all and has nothing to do with how fast the player can beat it.
andoc most of this group's arcade long plays use cheats though. but I guess that isn't your point, and really now that I think about it, most arcade games that aren't simply based on high scores are probably pretty short just by their nature.
Being able to finish a game is not an option. Easy or hard, a video game main purpose is to be finished. This actual run uses savestates, which is called a multi-segments (correct me if I'm wrong). Some people want to prove they can succeed in one shot (= single-segment), and others just want to explore every part of the game, having fun, by showing glitches and shortcuts that can be made in the original games, with or without the help of external tools (tool-assisted-speedrun). Some want to show the ultimate path leading to the end credits as fast as they can (speedrun any%), while others rather show every bonuses and reaches every main goal like getting all the stars in Mario 64 (speedrun 100%). The tool-assisted-speedrun is not cheating, as long as the "software tool" doesnt boost up your character. It uses the recording of controller inputs, like writing a partition ; one point is, the techniques used in TAS are "virtually" doable, that means that it would need freaking skills and perfection to be performed. Yet it's still not cheating. This is not gross, we can do that with our beloved games. I like every kind of speedrunners, tool-assisted or not. Just have a look at those classics like Zelda OoT, Mario 64 or Half-Life and I bet you would see the magic.
I didn't notice this until now, but if you look into the far background, you can see a preview of the next stage! Your character will actually run there, during the dance sequence.
I really enjoyed playing this game. Somehow the graphics style and color palette used just made it a game I wanted to keep playing and trying to beat at the arcade.
My favorite game at the Arcade during High School. Everyone hung out at the Mall and went to the Movies, food court, and the Mall Arcade room.. I could beat it was a single quarter every time. I played on a Trackball machine. Great game with Helicopters.
I can't imagine why the guy runs the way he does at the end of each wave, except to answer to the demands that he keep doing what we want him to. Or to keep the mood detached and playful, I have no idea. Still cracks me up though. It speaks a lot to the fun we want to have with friends while playing games. Get back to those headquaters soldier for your next mission! What, no break!?
I always liked this game when I was at the arcade. The interactivity of destroying buildings, killing soldiers and tanks, dodging shots... of course so many other military games have the exact same challenges, but somehow someone came up with a good formula for this. It just fit for exactly what I wanted to have fun with at the time. Oh, I posted about this already. But this comment is more accurate than my old one.
This clearly inspired GI Joe arcade's game, it even has the same war inspired theme, just a little bit better and with awesome characters, still this is amazing, especially for the time it was new
I thought it was just the perception of kid me playing on the NES. But it still looks like a submarine just randomly pops out of someone's swimming pool to fight.
Arnold Schwarzenegger in Cabal His mission is to raise the body count and blow up every thing along the way And do the victory dance once his mission is completed YEAH!!!!!!!!
Used to could not stand that demonic laugh or the death sound...also ScHlAuChi what was the controller button setup you put for this game? I've tried setting it up correctly but I could never get it accurately.
Can you please upload a video on longplay watch dogs bad blood DLC because I really want to see those chicago south club, militia, fixers, and more please.
I doubt it was disabled since there is no such dipswitch. However the roll buttons (Button C) are wired up additionally outside of the usual JAMMA harness games (something which I discovered when I bought the arcade board and thought roll was broken) It is likely the arcade operator didn't setup the game up correctly.
Every arcade that had this game, you were CONSTANTLY hearing that laughing skull on the looping demo screen.
True lol
yea that laugh would creep me the hell out.
In fact, I think the only other sound that was ever that constant in an arcade was hearing the elephants in Dhalism's stage on Street Fighter 2.
You are absolutely right. That laugh was heard, no matter how loud the arcade was.

How did the victory dance not become a meme?
Is that a victory dance or does he have the runs? LOL.
It carried over to Blood Bros, made by the same people. But you're right, it should be a meme or reference.

Yes! I didn't notice too.
Yeah no sh*t.

That victory dance alone makes this game of the year for 1989…..forget you final fight….no victory dance, no title
This came out in 1988.
I remember that laughing skull as a kid. It creeped me the hell out, and still does today.
Yesbody ever
Back in the days you were lucky to see some guy making it to the higher levels, like the one with the tower. Those were the nights.
This game was basically impossible to beat in the arcades unless you had $30 in quarters or own it and set it to free play.
The sub marine always killed my pocket money.
Top d+ esse é um verdadeiro clássico, o fliperama poderia voltar.
The game that inspired Natsume's Wild Guns on the Super Nintendo.

I just leveled the enemy base and killed everyone in... wait a second. What the hell is my guy doin'?
Sometimes you just have to bust a move.
Nothing could beat playing this game with your best pal. Maybe only Gauntlet played by 4 players.
0:33 You could think the gunfire and combat sounds were the game music. ;*P
El fre de nuestra época buenísimo ayer lo jugue dos veces
Those tanks have the weakest armor of any tank.
tanks have weakest armor than the truck hahaha
I thought it was just the perception of kid me playing on the NES.

Nice one. And better gun sounds than Planetside 2.

Oddly This game excites me more than Witcher 3

That gun might be a little over powered!
Actually ,there are machine-guns that can destroy light armor
@@frun But pulverize fucking houses and tanks lol?
I played this game more times than I can count.
Can you please upload a video on longplay watch dogs bad blood DLC because I really want to see those chicago south club, militia, fixers, and more please.

I played this when I was a kid. My highest score was about 3 m
I remember I've managed to beat this game without rolling using just one credit as rolling was disabled in the game centre I've played it
I doubt it was disabled since there is no such dipswitch.
However the roll buttons (Button C) are wired up additionally outside of the usual JAMMA harness games (something which I discovered when I bought the arcade board and thought roll was broken)

I could beat this game with just one coin. Now I cannot repeat that :)
