You know Tudor is to Rolex as Tissot is to Omega. It was Omegas baby sister brand back in the 40s 50d and 60s..ironic eh?

Omg this is a perfect illustration of how your channel has evolved TGV. We're back to the old OG part time YouTubing and primary interest in watches but we've also changed a lot after our time away from the Janeiro. We've become so much more refined. When I see this watch, I remember you battling your health yet working hard to both collect watches and help us all become better versions of ourselves. That still inspires me today. Congratulations T!

My, my my…once again, you manage to slip in more than a minor history lesson (hella thought-provoking, too - I was nodding my head more than a little), *then* make your big reveal, which I love, and truly agree was worth letting go of the Tudor for. One *very* minor quibble would be your take on the usefulness of the Telemeter scale: from an outdoorsperson's perspective, it can come in handy when dealing with an impromptu, incoming thunderstorm: gauging distance and direction. (On the cheaper end, this is why I love my 90s-era Seiko 7T32-9000 chronograph, which also nails that vintage-chrono vibe surprisingly well. Great presentation, once again!

You have such an amazing story telling , I love the fact you incorporate history. What a great looking watch these are the Tissot I like , gold gilt on a black dial reminds me of my Tudor BB, what a fantastic combination and the onion crown to me makes winding a watch easier and again reminds me of my 1916 trench watch, and to finish off a lovely piece the strap is made for that dial great combo, will have a look at the company who made the strap. The Tudor was a good sacrifice esp with you having the Rolex day date

Superb content and presentation! The passion and dedication that goes into these videos (documentaries) is outstanding!
Tissot are making some gorgeous chronographs lately. I especially like the 1973 Heritage (white dial, rally strap). Not quite as classy as the Janiero, but I love its smart sporty aesthetic.

Exquisite TGV! You just inspired me to finally pull the trigger on the new PRS516. Have the 2023 Telemeter white dial-which you also inspired me to strap on. While not the Balboa, gorgeous nonetheless. Cheers! Onwards and Upwards!

A Tissot PRS 526 was my first swiss watch in 2010. Its funny that then, I knew I was getting a generic ETA2824 movement, but now they are becoming harder to comeby movements.
This was a very enjoyable video. I love the aesthetics of aviation in the 1930's. During the pandemic Porco Rosso became my most watched film.

    Tissot couturier T035.614.11.031.00
Beast of a watch with super clean and legible display. Day date complication on a chrono. Only missing a minute track, but hey, who needs to time anything to the exact second anyway?
    😁😁😁

It is indeed a very versatile and advanced mechanical chronograph watch for it's time. The "frustrating" thing about mechanical chronograph movements is that a quartz chronograph movement surpasses them both in terms of performance and functionality. As one who have been studying chronograph movements' functionality, I can say with full confidence that no chronograph movement be it mechanical or quartz will ever surpass the good old and reliable workhorse chronograph for pilots Seiko 7-T-92. OCFO. The frustration kicks in when you find out that the perfect chronograph for pilots of all times costs 150 bucks. Now I know that you own a Seiko chronograph for pilots equipped with a Seiko 7-T-62 movement that you call the Flighty, but it is inferior by far to the 7-T-92. I can defend my statement if you want me to..

I have 3 Tissots in my Collection, the PRX Powermatic 80 with blue Dial, than the PRX Chrono also blue and last but not least the Seastar Professional 600 with tourquoise Dial. I love them all very much. You get soo much Quality for the Money you pay, can them highly recommend. And am very satisfied with those watches.

Another work of art from TGV - not my kind of watch but as always a world class video (I would most certainly even watch you talking about dishwashers or whatever). FYI as a proud French, Laguiole is in the “Massif Central” region of France - how come you pronounce Laguiole so well by the way? Even in France half say it wrongly.

WOW! This watch face could have easily been used in the opening credits of the last original ST-Universe's series "Star Trek Enterprise", with its "vintage in the future" drawings and images, because it it is a perfect fit for a future's past!
    BRAVISSIMO!

🍾 for this watch, great documentary also about this Tissot.
Nice looking watch but I prefer the actual version, specially the white version. It’s more balanced and has no date.
I have no problem with Tissot « new » direction at all, they know the market status and we not, right ?
97% people on earth are not like you. They want buying a good looking new watches with modern tech.
It is not a criticism of you who are in this 3%. You are just not interesting for watch manufacturers, they have to sell new watches to survive.
Maybe I’m wrong or not 😊

It really is a subjective thing horological collection. The Tissot is not my cup of tea at all. If anything I would have sold the gold Rolex DD and used the additional funds to buy more than the Tissot. But by all means enjoy your new watch TGV! Moreover, a geat video as always sir! Innovative, informative, classy! Very well done!

Great vid! Didn't expect a Tudor for a Tissot, but after watching this, I kinda get it.
Your twin should get some more screen time (hopefully), he adds a lot contextually, albeit quietly. Does he have a name?
To the last quarter of the vid, no person is ever bad for living in a certain country.
I believe that with what's going on right now, people may forget this.

What an amazing video, part horology, part aviation history, one rarely gets this on most channels, high production values. And an amazing watch. Tissot and Swiss Made meant nothing to me as a boy. Had I known, I’d have bypassed my Pulsar Kinetic and gone straight for an automatic or windup. Thanks for the education.

I do remember this the first time round. I like the recent reissue with similar looks though it's a much bigger watch with thankfully no plastic bits. Which is also true of the 1938 COSC chronometer reissue a watch I couldn't resist buying as soon I I saw that 2824 inside. The PRX may have been the best cash cow for Tissot for years but far from the best watch.

Great video! Wonderful watch. Tissot are an interesting brand. The replaceable newer movements might be a sad thing to hear about, but, we are watch enthusiasts, so predominantly we like the design of watches. Replacing movements is no deterrent from enjoying a beautiful watch, as servicing is hidden away from us anyway, we don't look over the shoulder of a stooped watchmaker tinkering away, very often it gets shipped out and then shipped back. I digress, what I mean to write is I don't see replacing entire movements becoming the norm. Many brands make movements that require skilled servicing, they have vested interests in maintaining the stream of skilled workers to fit this criteria. I believe brands like Tissot are great entries for new enthusiasts as they have strong marketing appeal for newer generations.
However, if one decides on buying Casios, Seiko's, Citizens, G-Shocks, then they are buying such an enormously good value for money watch, that the motive to buy another watch to create a collection should be purely for design, for fun, and for themselves and the merit of appealing to ones lifestyle. Bit of a waffle, but I don't think SWATCH are the sign of the end times, I hope at least. Big fan! Love the independent reviews.

I don't mind Tissot. Rich history and solid watches. Don't like the Powermatic 80 though... This is such a beautiful watch! I like it when things come full circle. The past has much beauty if we are willing to look beyond the failings of yesteryear.
