You are most welcome. I keep one Rubbermaid 8 cup food containers on the front and back porch with the top on and 1" holes on the sides near the bottom with the mix in the videos and they remain 99% Roach free all Summer. Thanks for watching
I’m going to do this because I live in Coastal NC and we have plenty of roaches and the palmetto Bugs are ALWAYS in the hives and it freaks me out sooo bad.
Hi Maggie, The diatomaceous will stab them to death from the fossilized coral, the boric acid will effect them on the inside when they consume it. Either way a dead roach is a good roach..
I just moved to ga and I always kept bees in Cali I’ve never had this issue,, I live my ness but I am really considering not keeping bees anymore life won’t be the same with out them ,, but I saw two or three of what people in the south call palmetto bugs I just vomited it’s horrific 😣😣😣😣😣😣😣
Thanks Jeff...I am slowly watching all your videos, and have been experimenting with "never wet" in the hives I am building. I hope to capture a feral swarm next spring, so my bee adventures are forthcoming Amigo!!! :-)
Hi Clayton, I hope these videos help you. Make sure you Subscribe because I have more coming up, plus one on catching swarms that is simple, easy and cheap..
Hi Jessica, you place these traps away from the hives and the Roaches ingest the boric acid which isn't a hazardous roach poison like most roach killers are. Also I find roaches are found between the screened inner cover and the top cover not inside the hive where the bees would probably attack them.
Hi Mickey, Nope the bees don't care about the dry dog food one bit but the Roaches love it. I'll make up smaller ones to place on my front and back porch, it really keeps the population down outside Just put a heavy weight of some kind on top to keep the pets and wild animals out of it. I want to add one more thing these Roach traps go on the ground near the beehives not in the hives..
No that isn't a dumb question, I like to use a inner vented screen cover. It keeps the air circulating in the hives and cooler in the Summer, which unfortunately is also Cockroach season....
In a strong beehive the bees will remove the roaches a weak one has trouble removing them. I find most roaches under the top cover and under the hive or any place that is dark in the Apiary, that's one problem living in a warm climate..
The housekeeping bees will keep a hive clean and remove any foreign material. If you have a weak hive that roaches have invaded and defecated on the honey comb, I wouldn't eat it or sell it.
@@ksoundkaiju9256 If it is not fit for human consumption clean up what you can can let the bees have it for their food, they will take what they want and will leave the rest.
Bravo thank you

Hi Nichole,
I feel the same way, mine are in the space between the screened top cover and the telescoping top.
I’m giving it a try with diatomaceous earth, since I had it on hand. 🤞

Won't the roaches drag the poison through the hive hurting the bees and honey?

Found your channel great info Looking forward to starting my bee yard this year also in NWF are you near PC by chance
I'm just outside of Pensacola, good luck with your new bees..
So, nothing here the bees would be interested in or in danger of getting on them?

May be a dumb question... what if you didn’t use an inner-cover. The critters wouldn’t have a place to hide.... ?

Jeff Willard do you have to destroy the honey if they get into it?

Jeff Willard so just burn it and start over?

Thank you for the video. We do not have many roaches but we have plenty of ants.
Wonder if this would work on ants.
Hi J&B,
I don't know, do an experiment and mix some up and place it next to a hive to see if it dies out. Good luck...
