I leave the grease brush in the block cell and re hit the grease barrier every 3-4 months. May have to re apply grease the dust or dirt gets into the grease.
Great idea , ill be doing this , i lost a hive a few years ago because of ants . At the moment i been painting oil on my bee stand legs to keep them off. This is a much better idea. Thanks for sharing . Thumbs up .
I am trying your idea. I am in Palm Bay Florida and I see those little sugar any on my box. I also sprinkled cinnamon around it. If you have any other advise on how I can get rid of these ants!!! I would love it!!! Thanks for the video.
I like this idea. As I used the grease and swore it off, after it got all over everything. This is out of the way and the majority of 🐝 will avoid this area anyway.
@@st.augustinehoney5282 Thank you for that additional comment. I am just seeing your video for the first time - as I searched for info on treating ants - and was wondering if that was a one-time solution or had to be more regularly than once a year. Great idea on the "cheap" cookie sheets too! I also got a good plan on how to set my hives on cinder blocks with landscape timbers. LOL. One-stop-shop here in this video in just a few minutes! Thank you thank you thank you.
Thank you so much, been struggling to keep the ants from my beehives for a while now. I hope this will do the trick. With love from India 🙏

It worked! Thank you!! After 24 hours not a single ant to be seen!
Awesome video! Short and to the point and extremely helpful. Thanks for your insight!

Hi Bo! Nice channel! I didn't know you had one. It is good to see you again. Hope to see you at the UF Bee College again.
Thanks for keeping it short!
Music too loud but great info
Thank you helped me tremendously

Will the bees try to harvest the grease? What else can we use, I could not understand the music was a bit high.
Even I tried grease method but it won't work for more than 15 days
Will the smell of axle grease bother the bees? I have a nuc and ants but im afraid the smell may make them fly off.
Have never had a problem. You can use petroleum jelly too.
Thanks for the tips. Will be quite helpful in Aquin.
Very cool, gotta try it!
It really is that simple. Give it a try.
Grease dry very soon, how to manage
Where do you get the termite shields?
Home Depot has them. In the concrete block area. The employees will have no idea what your talking about and will send you to pesticide sales.
Thank you so much for this!
nice tip, thank you

Thank you!
Really interesting.
great stuff thank you!
Nice idea but in my area of Texas , the fire ants would “ sand up “ the grease and walk over it .
Ants will win every time. I have to reapply grease or tanglefoot every 2-3 months as well.
Thanks for the comment.

good idea!
Nice and fast 👏 👏
why is that music so loud?
That’s gonna hold water
Turn it upside down. I like to bend the corners over to. They tend to be shape. The grease needs to be reactivated with the brush ever 4 months.
loose the music
Your music is Annoying to even understand what you say
