The editing quality has been off-the-charts recently. From all the funny pop ups like the "joke of the day" to the cutaways like "Storytime with Sullivan Beau Brown," there have been so many fun visual gags in the videos lately that have added an extra layer to the hilarity. It is so much fun to see not only the players having a good time but also the effort the editors are putting into the videos to put them over the top. Exceptional work all around.
I just don't understand how you guys aren't a bigger channel, you put on consistent, high quality, super entertaining stuff, week after week. You've added new shows to your line up (the first episode of lord of the board was amazing). You guys really deserve a larger following, keep up the good stuff!
What makes this the best board game channel by miles is the consistency, and new innovations. Not being only for hardcore gamers, but just a group of mates having fun! The editing, the running gags, that song at the end which you didn't need to but did anyway, making a tournament....and the genius addition of Rosie and Sully on commentary! Everything you do just elevates the channel above other stuffy ones. Never thought I'd watch playthroughs like this and actually look forward to them. And now each game has stakes and more tension with Adam's win / loss record. Love it! I'm waiting for the day you do a in person BOTCT in a creepy mansion with actual rooms you go into.
The montage at the end is the absolute best thing NRB have ever done, and that’s saying something!!! Literal tears of laughter as Adam dies a little inside with every loss. Sorry Adam, but you did kind of make your bed on this one…
This is easily my favorite "opener" board game for a lot of reasons. The rules are simple enough to teach in a few minutes (or if you're quick a few breaths). The puzzle is simple enough to wrap your head around but still tricky because your plans can change in a second thanks to what the other players do. There are only so many tiles in the game so it's not going to drag at any time before it's over, and when it's over you can easily rerack and go again if you want. Whenever you're eliminated you can't feel too upset because it was either a mistake on your part not reading the line far enough, a clever move by an opponent leading you to your doom, the luck of the draw leaving you no good options (in which case I go for style points as I eliminate myself), or it can even be an "If I'm going out then I'm taking you with me" elimination, and those are always funny. I will happily play a few rounds of this with anyone anywhere, and I often bring it to board game nights with my friends to start our brains going thinky.
As funny as that would be I hope they give him an “out” so that he can do something more entertaining. Anyway I’m pretty sure the UN would call making someone play 5 games of Monopoly “cruel and unusual punishment” haha

Your big filming day had three fun yet diverse board games with different strategies to each of them (Cash N Guns, For Sale, Tsuro). This one being the most unintentionally mean with dynamic plays throughout four games. And the buildup to the final clip that accumulates all of the necessary footage for it was an amazing job your editor did. Great way to cap off that day with a trio of entertaining board games.
Another fantastic episode with many laughs... if you don't count Adam's tears over his win/loss record. I encourage all commenting here to look into joining the NRB patreon, as the uncut, extended episodes are more of a great thing with bonus content. I love pretty much everyone you’ve had on but this might be my favourite combination of 6 for BGC. Personally think it’s the best mix of personalities/play-styles (although I’d make it a 7 and throw Tom in if I was being greedy)

I freaking ADORE this game. It was my favorite for a good few years until we got Tsuro of the Sea and it was specifically *mine* because I loved to play Tsuro so much
I have to go out shortly, I'm not technically late, but the editing on that music video was so good, I had to, not only watch to the end, but also leave this comment saying so. "You're a wizard Teri" is probably a quote from the players, but is also true.
Tsuro was one of THOSE games that played years ago and showed me how board games were so fun. Years later, and just a few months ago, me and my brother went to buy and had to deal with importing it from Uk because it was discontinued where we live, and it was worth it.
This game has shot up my list of next board games to add to my collection and currently sits in 2nd place behind betrayal at house on the hill. (my collection consists of one game so far, I'm hoping to increase that number soon) (its cosmic encounter) (yes it was because of the first in person BGC episode)
Firstly, this looks like a really enjoyable game! Easy to learn and quick, I might have to get myself a copy. Secondly, that piece of editing at the end was subarashii! I'm still laughing.
I always played where if tiles meet, they just phase through each other and continue but the result is the same. They would both end up off the board since they had to follow a path to get to the meeting point, therefore the path would also lead to the starting point, which is off the board.
One of my personal favorite games. It’s great it plays up to 8 players. Unless the rules have changed, a player isn’t allowed to take themselves off the board if there is no option that keeps them on.

House rules that we play for Tsuro: play cooperatively and get as many pieces to the dragon tile. It is surprisingly difficult to get even 2 pieces to the end. You can use these rules in house rules if you want to as well.
