Adam you dont want to open the bottle until nitrous solenoid has power. In your case where your car is on and nitrous is armed. Nitrous solenoids can leak when they arent powered, and cause a nitrous backfire on start up. Just a drag racing tip:)
VQ are a dime a dozen and simple to change out, I wouldn’t stress about blowing the engine at all lol love the Z man, I have 2 a clean stock car and a LQ4 swapped 4speed. Keep it up modding it, Zs are impressive chassis.
omg having the purge in the car is a terrible idea.. even having the bottle in the cabin with you is not the best idea... it's extremely dangerous if you get a leak, or the bottle over pressurizes and opens the vent

If you want to be sneaky with the purge, put the purge line into the exhaust. A quick rev while you are purging will mask the sound...

Also progressive switch over works the solenoid and can cause it to stick open because solenoids are more meant for constant open and close circuits
