If you're getting mixed results when using Generative AI in Photoshop to remove something? I can help! In this video, I demonstrate how to best use Photshop's Generative AI in various situations.

I'd also add that the reverse is true. If you want the AI to replace something that's similar you need to ensure your mask is a similar shape. For example if you cut out a complex subject that you want to put on a new background. It might be too difficult to accurately mask a person's hair if it's in a complex background. In this case cut out the person without the hair edges then use AI with a 50% opacity mask to re-create the hair edges in the new background. For best results you have to paint your mask to look like the original hair rather than using a large round brush around the edges of the cut out hairline and expecting the AI to know you want realistic hair that blends in perfectly with your cut out subject. I find doing it this way can give very impressive results 🙂

I type the word remove in the contextual bar and I don't worry about markee or selection tools.

@@johnyoung1606 I copied the image. I surrounded the man with a rectangle and typed "remove". That worked. When I tried after selecting the man with a more or less exact outline, it didn't work. It inserted another guy.

"Remove" didn't work for me removing a person from a different stock image of two people; it inserted another dweeby person. As Anthony says, results can still be a bit hit or miss. In beta, I'd type just a period to tell PS to remove the selected object and fill the background, and that almost always worked. It didn't work in this case either. ??

Adobe needs to have a warning to not use this tool if you've just dropped acid. 😃

Your pronunciation of lasso had me looking up if there is more than one way to say it, but all I can find is that in England they say lah SUE.

I tried using generative AI to add things to a photograph (like a whale tail in the background) and it was awful. Every option was cartoonish and unusable. Is this just how it is at this point?

If you want to use generative ai with the lasso why can’t you just give it a prompt to remove the man?

But remove a person was one of the first examples of what AI could do? Now it seems really hard to achieve?

I found removing lisence plate works better in Norwegian.
    Fjern bilskilt
    Instead of:
    Remove license plate
It's not the always perfect, but English makes it go insane sometimes especially it's it's not high resolution or it's too small.
For some reason Norwegian works better.
