I would love to see a longer-format video on the design of the PolyPaf in line with the previous ones on the Ragnarok, Silo etc. Nolly and Tim talking gear and tone is always deligthful.
Beautifully explained Was gonna order BK warpig humbucker a with ceramic, but now I want to use alnico Vs instead after watching this video Beautifully explained- may pick up a polypaf in the future
Nolly explains not just how pickups sound but how they *feel* so well, and often I find that's a much more definable part of a pickup's character than what you hear in a demo. For example, Micky's recent demos of the Stormy Mondays and the Mules show the EQ differences, but unless you've played both, you won't get the sense of the difference in the attack, how crunchy the A4 makes the Mule feel. Please can we get Nolly talking through each pickup in the range? I'm only half-joking!
I’m pretty excited by this, I was interested in the polymath, but wanted something a bit less output. I’m really enjoying the import PRS 58/15s and I think this would be a great upgrade.
Would love a polypaf vs dimarzio Joe duplantier bc the way he described the polypaf sound exactly what Joe's fortitude is and why I love that pickup so much, the dynamics and clarity. Definitely wanna try these
@@Professional.Bro.777 They're just a couple button clicks away lol Ive been wanting a set of bare knuckles for years and this was the perfect set to finally get me to cave
The way that you describe them is the way I would describe the PRS DGT pickups. No high DC resistance (bridge ca 9k) but crunch wise you wouldn’t know it and they can do everything well, including metal. Wouldn‘t mind trying the PolyPafs in my LP.
Were these developed specifically with the nickel covers? How much of an impact would there be with no covers? Would it be a step away from, or closer to the Mules?
Every 5 years since the 1960s in the guitar world they rediscover the PAF pickup. It's kind of cute. Yeah, it sounds awesome. Then they rediscover the P90 and then the cycle loops. Recently they are rediscovering the filtertrons too. I wonder how long ago the last novel electric guitar pickup design was made? EMG actives? I don't know if any have been invented in my lifetime and I'm not young.
I can think of a couple, lace sensor, various stacked single coils, zexcoil pickups, multicoil pickup (found in the Wal Basses for example), fishman fluence, various piezo pickups that connect with midi (they pick up each string separately)
Any plans for demoing the 7- or 8-string version of the PolyPaf? Just a month ago, I was browsing for extended range PAFs, so I feel like this is a sign in some way.
Really curious how this compares to Dimarzio PAF Pro's. It's a really similar idea, tight lows, airy highs, almost identical DC resistance. Wondering how much that high carbon slug really matters!
@@UncleYoshi go for it! i just would rather swap some shitty DiMarzios for a PAF, because i just love the sound of PAFs over everything else, but i personally wouldn't swap PAFs for PAFs. I mean they don't come for free right?
this is not mandatory..there are other options..it boils down to personal choices by players..this will continue to evolve..and i gotta say that we live in this awesome era of guitar..both gear & playing

Nolly and I are already talking about it so watch this space.
@@BKPickups Honestly a full lineup rundown would be appreciated, especially as the lineup continues to get expanded and refined...
@@BKPickupsyes please have him on more videos. I legit learned so much about pickups in this short video
Delighted to hear it!
Will definitely get a set for my 335 sooner or later
Double the uploads, double the output, what's not to love 😉

Oh now I can get behind this, I love PAFs

Looking forward to my set showing up! I went with polymath bridge though.
I'm jealous!

I really want a set of these for my Anderson Cobra S!
Getting ready to buy for my PRS CE24!
Gonna throw this in my mccarty SE 594, but wait, I love my 594 sounds already.
Gonna buy another 594 and slap this anyway 👍

the fishman fluence could probably be the last "invention" you call
Fishmans are pretty novel in their construction, being layered PCB instead of copper wire wrapped around bobbins.

@@midnightmix2692 absolutely, the fishman tripleplay midi pickup is pretty sick
@@midnightmix2692 Agreed, Zex coils are pretty neat!

Absolutely! Keep an eye on our channel.
Great youtuber toan.
Wondering how these compare to a Dimarzio Fortitude. which is currently my favorite PAF style bridge pickup.
Greetings Bare Knuckle, what pickup pot values does Nolly use on the Polypaf? 250k's or 580k's?
you guys definitely need to make a proper AB comparison between these and the polymaths
We hoping to do that very soon.

I am also interested in this comparison
Would you say these are as bright or darker vs a PRS 85/15 set? And how does this and the Pilymath neck compare sound wise?
"The lower your tuning the more output gain they produce" this man knows how to sell his product to the right customer! Diggin' deep the djent bag
Can you develop a polyphonic synthesizer and call it the PolyPoly?
Sounds like it would be good to put in a Gibson Les Paul Standard 👍🏻
Sounds like there is no point in replacing PUs with the same characteristics
@@antares4975 but what if Bareknuckle PAFs got better characteristics?
@@UncleYoshi what do u mean by better?

why not Nollymath? such a wasted opportunity
Metal Scene is so copy cat now that we have only Nolly Snare sound, Nolly Bass sound, Nolly Drums sound, Nolly Mix 🤷🏽♂️
It was the same thing when Joey Sturgis was at his peak, but here we are, I like living in Nollys world way better lol
I got 0 issue with that situation 😂

Yeah and 3-4 DSP plugin guitar sounds
Guitar sound 10/10.
