Thanks so much for the clarity on falcons. In The Wizard of Oz movie, Dorothy was carried by winged monkeys...not falcons, LOL! And, I'm happy you caught and released that raccoon back in the woods, too--raccoons tampered with the scaffolding at my grandma's house--and left mess behind as well.
Michael, was it the best idea to show the General public how to trap a hawk? And was the hawk trapped in the safest way possible? Having the Bal Chatri fall like it did on him? Was that the best form? It’s not good to reveal strategies and tactics to the general public. It’s ammo for the anti hunters do you not think?
Certainly, information is critical and always good, of course we (falconers) have always been having this conversation (should we show what we do) even since I was on the Board of Directors for NAFA. The answer is yes, it is good to show exactly what we do. I watched the video several times before I posted it, the hawk was never in danger, also, it did not fall on him. It is a very good thing to be transparent with the general public, it builds trust, hiding things and being secretive builds mistrust.

I love the red-tailed hawks in my cul-de-sac. They get into lil disputes with the ravens, but they destroy the starlings, which I'm fine with.

Oh wow! Thats a serious safety issue, was anyone hurt?
@@WildlifeCommandCenter No one was hurt. It's amazing how raccoons can be so destructive.
Agree, very amazing, very destructive critters
My aunts teacup chihuahua got picked up by a hawk, dropped it, then flew down n swooped her up, in front of me n my older bro
