  • It's extremely common for young birds to make the mistake of flying into a warehouse or building. In most cases, these birds are chasing prey, and before they know it, get stuck without an escape plan. It's very difficult for them to self navigate their way back out the way they came in.
All birds of prey are protected by the government, and there are heavy fines for anyone who doesn't attempt to free them and simply allow them to die of starvation or worse kill them to get rid of the "problem."
Birds of prey are already facing many hardships in the wild. So, we all need to do our part to keep these birds around for many generations to follow. Thanks for watching and subscribing!

You had to get a trap, in order to rescue the Cooper's Hawk and get him out of a trap. He wouldn't have survived in that warehouse--I love the outcome of this one!

I found a little hawk with one wing a juvenile & they want to put it down here and kill it,any other options? Can I give it to anyone who will not put it down?

Hi @ambercoey! Thank you for your compassion and for reaching out. It's heart-wrenching to find a juvenile hawk in need of help, especially when there's the possibility of euthanasia. First, I want to assure you that there are often **options** other than putting the bird down, especially when it comes to wildlife rehabilitation.
When it comes to injured or orphaned wildlife, the best option is always to **contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator** or a local animal rescue organization. These professionals are trained to care for injured wildlife, and they can assess the hawk's injury, determine if it’s treatable, and help guide it toward recovery if possible. Many times, injured birds like hawks can recover with the right medical care and rehabilitation, and some are even released back into the wild once they’re strong enough.
If you’re unsure where to find a wildlife rehabilitator, you can try contacting a local **wildlife rescue center, rehabilitation facility, or even a veterinarian** who specializes in wildlife care. In many cases, these professionals can either take the bird in or direct you to someone who can.
It's important to avoid trying to care for the hawk on your own unless you have proper knowledge and experience with wild birds, as it can be dangerous for both you and the animal.
Thank you for wanting to give this beautiful bird a chance. It’s people like you who make a real difference in the lives of wildlife in need. Please take this hawk to a trusted wildlife expert as soon as possible-its chance at recovery is higher with the right care.
