II. CORALE (Choir 2)
Wie sich ein Vater erbarmet
Just as a father has mercy
über seine jungen kinderlein,
on his young little children,
so tut der Herr uns Armen,
so does the Lord unto us poor,
so wir ihn kindlich fürchten rein.
so we innocently fear him, like children.
Er kennt das arm Gemächte,
He knows our feeble doings,
Gott weiß, wir sind nur Staub,
God knows we are merely dust,
gleich wie das Gras vom Rechen
just like the grass on the rake
ein Blum und fallend Laub.
a blossom and fallen leaf.
Der Wind nur drüber wehet,
The wind simply blows across it
so ist es nicht mehr da,
and it is no longer there,
also der Mensch vergehet,
even so the human passes away,
sein End das ist ihm nah.
its end is close at hand.
ARIA (Choir 1)
Gott, nimm dich ferner unser an,
God, accept us furthermore,
den ohne dich ists nichts getan
for without you nothing is done
mit allen unsern Sachen.
by any deed of ours.
Drum sei du unser Schirm und Licht,
Thus be our shield and light,
und trügt uns unsre Hoffnung nicht,
and if our hopes do not deceive us,
so wirst dus ferner machen.
so will you do this furthermore.
Blessed are they, that fast and firmly,
auf dich und deine Huld verläβt.
surrender themselves to you and your grace.
III. Lobet den Herrn in seinen Taten,
Praise the Lord for his acts,
lobet ihn in seiner groβen Herrlichkeit!
praise him for his great splendor!
Alles, was Odem hat, lobe den Herrn, Halleluja!
Everything that has breath, praise the Lord, Hallelujah!

Beautiful harmony🎶💐
The Toelzerknabenchor treble singers are particularly enthusiastic, even passionate. Amazing for boys so young....
This video of BWV 225 is just overwhelming! No other generation, boy's choir, or any other choir of women or men would not be able to follow this. As much as this is my favorite music, I watched various versions of BWV 225, and this was just the best at the moment when I first watched this. I especially love Alexander L's strong and clear voice vibrating the whole place where they are singing. I can even hear his voice clearly when all the rest of the choir is singing.
Bravissimo, Toelzer Knabenchor ist wirklich top!
Magnificent performance of Tözer! Thank you
A.L. certainly could project an amazing volume of sound and with clarity. Remarkable young man.
There are times when the TOLZER just puts me into orbit. i am forever in awe of GSG.
Bravo !
These two heros make a fabulous duo
I have a vision of periodic battles to get Alexander into the barbers. What a great little artist he is/was/maybe still is!.
Beautiful rendition.
With Alex: in full flow it it all too easy to overlook Fredie's contribution, He is a great soloist
GREAT!! thank you for posting this video!!
Wonderful performance, and excellent quality! Thanks for putting it up. :))
Thank you again.
Alexander certainly creates and enormous volume of sound ans with clarity. I recall reading that Caruso I think it was could fit a hens egg on end into his mouth, One wonders if Alex has a similar physical attribute.
GANZ GUT GEMACHT!!!!
Lieske and Jost make a great pairing
good classic music - perfect voices 5*
VERY GOOD!!!
Found a CD of Claudio Abardo's Magic Flute in Oxfam at the weekend,, Alex and Fredie with Niklas Mallmann as no 3. .
Missing in the description is the name of the exellent base soloist. I think it is Maximilian Hinz..
Some years earlier he was a soprano in TKC, and you kan hear him here on YTube as the brilliant soprano soloist in "Confitebor" by the Maltese composer Benigno Zerafa!
Pity Alex holds his book so high. Hes one of my favourites.
This is gold. Can TC or another boychoir ever reach this level?
takjub
One of the best boys´ choirs of the w o r l d !
Alexander L. is the best :D
That boy soprano is very good. I wonder what his parents promised or threatened him with to get his hair cut.
Alexander Lischke here 11yo ?
2004 ?
Watch the expressions of the teachers behind alexander, there appears to be signs of exasperation. Could he be playing up instead of keeping the volume down a little? Alexander was one of the greatest Tolzers but probably not the most docile. His rendering of Miriam's Victory Song makes him one of my heros.
@aquaria85
I meant given "the" correct tuition of course.. damned typos!
I greatly admire Alexander but to be honest he is a little over the top in the ensemble singing as I think Fliegner and the other guy were trying to convey without success. Andreas might have wished for earplugs.
nothing incredible at all... personally I am sick to the teeth of a world that constantly underestimates what children are able to do. Hence the banality that often passes for children's choirs... this is an example that goes to show that children are able to do fantastic things given they correct tuition and T.L.C (tender loving care).
There's no phrasing....they sang it without groupings. Although the sounds they are producing are close to being in tune, the interpretation is just "hammer every note you can". Although it's fairly accurate in pitch, it sounds sloppy and unmusical. The most music they do is dynamics - there's no line. I understand they did ALL of it, but that shouldn't be an excuse, I think. Talented choir but they weren't taken to that next step.
Come on, they r singing chorus, and there r harmonies. However, Bach's works is complex and BWV225 is for double-choir. Maybe it's not easy to get it clearly. lend ur ear and ur heart to it, and u will find this performance not sloppy at all! :)
