    Great to see another video of Fredic; such a pity is so drowned by the orchestra. Fine performance at a young age.. TKC do send their boys in at the deep end.

    Personally I think this boy sings this aria well , despite his young years. not many 10 year olds that I've ever met could even hope to do this on the best day of their lives. While his rendition is not 100% accurate - it is well pleasing and well performed. His voice, IMHO, will go down in the history of trebles as one of the best in recorded history and this by no means is an easy task !

    this video captures one of the great moments in the history of music performance. As always I am in total awe of GSG and Bravo to master Frederic Jost.

    The wonderful aria sung by this wonderful guy is "Schlafe, mein Liebster,"[=Sleep my Beloved] the 10th piece in the 2nd Cantata "Und es waren Hirten in derselben Gegend" [And there were Shepherds in the same Region] written for the Second Day of the Festival of Christmas
    How regrettable that they use vastly inferior women and countertenors for this marvelous music, though as one commenter noticed he's really not deep enough to be a full alto, more of a mezzo-soprano, but still five-star fantastic.

      Text: 10. ARIA ALTO
      Schlafe, mein Liebster, genieße der Ruh,
      Sleep, my Beloved, relish the Rest,
      wache nach diesem vor aller Gedeihen!
      awake after this for all the Fortunate!
      Labe die Brust, empfinde die Lust,
      Refresh the Breast, experience the Delight
      wo wir unser Herz erfreuen!
      where we our Hearts rejoice!

    Kompliment, Frederic!

    I wish that I could sing that well when I was 10 or so. I had to wait until I was older when my voice stabilized to be able to sing decently. Also, my elementary school was a virtual desert when it came to vocal music.

    If you think this is good, You should've heard Freddy Jost two years later in '06. He was truly the alpha alto and could fill symphony concert hall quite easily and idiomatically. I think he's beginning to make his mark as well as an adult bass soloist

    To find more of this soloist, search for "Frederic Jost" (instead of "Fredric")

    Since my last post of 17 hours ago I have had the opportunity to listen to this more than several times. This might sound off topic but I see in this boy similar patters of physical movement and approach I have seen in the boy soprano Alexander Lischke. While their voices are entirely different I see in it these similarities between these two trebles, although Alexander tends to move more than Jost while singing.. This is perhaps a result of their similar training more than anything else.

      Yes, Alexander Lischke and Frederick Jost are from the same Tölzer 'vintage', probably the best vintage that GSK ever produced. Frederick a superb alto and Alexander an equally fantastic Soprano (Treble), who generally got more attention as it is a more 'popular' voice type. But both pearls of musicians, without doubt! There is a really nice RUclips video where the sing a duet.

    It could be nerves. Besides, how can if get ready if he doesn't have the experience :) I think he does a good job. It's not perfect. But hey, how many 10year olds do you know who can sing this?

    Yes. You have right that every note isnt really clean. But the boy was just around 10 years old when he sang this. So I think it is good.

  • @Zerlina12
    @Zerlina12  17 лет назад +1

    Yes it is. But I think I like Christian Immlers boyalto vocie more, but Fredric is a really good singer too. Maybe he is pusching the notes too much sometimes. But still, he sings really good.

  • @Zerlina12
    @Zerlina12  17 лет назад

    Yes it is a very good try, he is only 10 or 11 years old here, and now he sings even better.

    es geht nicht um den einen oder anderen unreinen ton, vielmehr muss man dem lehrer hier einen vorwurf machen. er hätte seinen schüler etwas genauer unterrichten müssen. in der höhe singt er gut, aber in der tiefe ist er eher schwach - was m. e. am atemtraining liegt. der junge kann nix dafür.
    letztlich geht es aber nicht nur darum, alles schön zu reden, sondern auch mal kritik zu bekommen. ernstgemeinte u. sachliche kritik hilft einem im leben mehr als nur schlichtes, wohlwollendes lob!
