I was lucky enough to see the last GP ever ran there and it was fantastic. As great as that was I can only imagine the 500cc GP's back in the day with DeCoster, Mikkola, Lackey, Noyce and the rest; they must have been epic.
I was there in '74 and the start in the stadium by 40 works 2 strokes made your rib cage vibrate. I watched the first leg there and the second from the climb back from the high street. You did the climb on your hands and knees it was that steep. After all, they were part of the citadels original defences. Great days.
@@francisnickler5895 he might not have won them Al but he’d would be a big competitor he would have been a great competitor for RC and he would still have got some titles
Belgium just suddenly decided no more motocross they where one of the best motocross country’s until they decided to make rules on motocross that made it less popular there are barely any tracks left so almost no riders
Awesome Namur!! 😍 The Montecarlo of motocross!
Camera angles don't give a real appreciation of the terrifying climbs and descents. Fantastic.
Dartmoor Dave They never do ! I tell people that know very little of the sport you need to see a track to believe IT !!
Que de souvenirs.... J'y ai courru par deux fois. 1982 et 1983....
Now this is a real motocross track. None of that nonsense out in a big flat field, pretty much just overgrown supercross tracks these days.
Old track with lots of history. All the greats like Mikkola and DeCoster battle here a long time ago.
Went there in'73, eyepopping changes in track. Worlds best circuit.
My granddad won the 250 GP there in the 50s. He is the only German to do so
Colin dugmore is The man. Look how fast he is with his 125cc..
And this Jump at 9:06min Should be in the MX Hall of Fame!
thats not a 125cc its a 380cc nontheless great ride from im
Thx
@@golhabaki Sounds like a 250! 'Open' means 250 cc 2-stroke is possible, right?

Stefan Everts ! thank`s
voice george jobé rip ...
Why did they close this amazing track anyone knows?
It was related to the dangerosity of the track: many trees, huge cliffs on the side, ... No organiser would want to take so many risks nowadays
@@Archimede330 no, the reason is that the Citadelle de Namur and the near gardens are now classified as historic monuments.

Does anyone know if there is an English version.. like on Speed TV USA?
