Was there that day, God was it a hot day, it was about 34c which for england at that time of the year was insane, this day was one of the best MX event's there was, 10x world MX champion, the unstoppable AMA champion and multiple other champions on track all going as hard as they could from the start, and you can see that there was no letting up all race, 100% all the time. was good to watch this again after so many years! iv raced a my own career since this and stopped racing due to injury since this 11 years ago, how time flys!
This is the first big motocross event my dad took me to as a child I'm now 27 and been to many GPS and mxons since and still nothing compares to the atmosphere that day
Carmichael hurt his shoulder real bad at the last national. Believe me, if he could have rode he would have. Simply put, Stewart got beat. It would have been a good race between Everts and Carmichael though. That year RC pretty much beat Stewart at every race they raced each other.
as a euro fan being british.. gotta say ricky did by no means chicken out of this, he broke his shoulder or something last ama round which was his last ama race... and had to miss a big suprise party waiting for him at his home as he spent the night in hospital. he would have welcomed the challenge and he had beat him before, i wonder how it would have gone, they were both at full speed at this time, neither retiring as they were slowing down. Everts here is so composed, i forgot how he rode.. ryan hughes would have a field day watching this foootage of his technique and style. a little fun fact about this event is they forgot the trophy lol. it was back in america when they realised and the yanks had to fly somebody out the day or night before the sunday with the trophy. haha. what a day it was, i was there also, it was not hot you goon, it was pretty cold. typical england. I think everst woulda beat him that day but imagine watching them both having to ride flat out, which i don't think either of them did much of. i swear mx fans are way more into this sport than other fans of sports. we all ride as well as watch, we can relate
As his going away present Srefan put his bid in as the best ever.I had forgoten how much style he had.If Ricky had been there we would have scored less that is for sure.Could he have Beaten Stefan we will never know he would have had to ride his ass off to do it.I just wish Stefan would have come to America for a season.
bro just because they look like they are going fast doesn't mean they are the quickest on the track. Stewart is not in the same league as Everts. Take a look at a rider called Georges Jobe, sometimes he looked liked he was going so slow compared to the rest of the field but the lap times say it all
see how fast it looks like Bubba is going and how slow Everts is going. These kids are fast but Everts is a master

not many guys, then and now, could beat stewart in his prime... just goes to show you how fast everts really was...

Had RC not been injured at Glen Helen, the 2006 US Team would have possibly been the best ever.
