Read about this race at the time, never seen it. What a great contest this was, been watching the AMA nationals from 87 til 2006. Watching how effortlessly Stewart put all except RC way behind, then he gets among the GP riders and now things ain't so easy. Villopoto, Townley, Cairoli what a line up. But Stefan Everts riding through the ruts with his pegs dragging whist standing up, that was too much. Then he pulls out a 2:06 and Stewart can't get within a second. The commentator described Everts riding style as suave and he's right. What a quick 2 hours that was!
Great race coverage of the FULL Motocross Des Nations event. Why can't all the broadcasts be FULL coverage instead of a lot of preliminary buildup and only parts of the races edited and condensed in order to cram 3 35 minute motos into less than an hour? Who is responsible for such a piss-poor product? Nonetheless, good on Team USA for taking the win again, despite the incomparable Stefan Everts double moto wins. Can only imagine how low Team America's points would have been had Carmichael been able to compete.
