I can relate. I was at the 2007 round in the USA. Fantastic memorable time. Loved walking through the pits and small talking with teams from all over the world. 33 teams there that year I think.
I was there. The race was held in an old rock quarry It was a joke when they watered the track in the morning from the top of the quarry with water trucks. They would just open the water waste gate and let it run down the hill like a small tidal wave. It was a quagmire.
33:30 (Emig post race interview): That was a typical trick of the FIM among many, to water the track a lot in an effort to hinder team USA, (The 1986 production rule for the USA was not enough.). Finally, the FIM just took over the racing in the USA to finish us off.

2022 now, and counted 15 riders on a 40 rider main moto gate at a MXGP. The FIM needs some free market competition.

It wasn't like all the teams didn't have to race on it.
They watered the track way too much to have an advantage over the US-boys. I have been there that day.
