Just an excellent MXDN. The Belgians as always, were so very strong and stylish. Alot of very great individual performances. But its not about individual performances which really seemed lost on the commentator. He got caught up in Stanton's amazing come-from-behind ride and more or less had a ho-hum attitude towards Kiedrowski's and Bradshaw's very consistent "anchor" rides, that were just as key. Its not about going all-out for a win. Its team racing. I do get the fact that when you it handed to you for ten straight years, it does tend to align everyone against the dominant team. American race managers (Roger D) know all too well you cannot go to this race with an individual performance mentality and expect to "out point" the incredible European teams. Those teams who don't fully grasp this might win a moto here and there but will surely come up short at the end of the day.

Oh yea, I have a gift. I can see the premise of anything about individualism, (freedom), or it's opposite, collectivism, (slavery, let's be honest here). I can see which philosophies you promote. It's called propaganda. It is so, because i can prove you wrong.
      1986, O'Mara, Johnson, Bailey.
O'Mara had a "personal" point to prove to Honda, who was letting him go after that race.
Bailey, with a film his brother Mitchel put together, (on you-tube), Baily mentioned several time how "selfish" he had to get to do his best.
Johnson, was always a bit of a socialist dupe, (check out 1985 World SX finale in Vegas), but he won his class (perfect score, 2/3rds being selfish) because he belongs there also, but was not a highlight of the race. Those highlights were Bailey and especially O'Mara, beating Brit 500cc world champ (for second in the 500cc class behind selfish Bailey),----on his 125.
Selfishness, (if not hurting anybody else), is a virtue, and allows any man----to be great!
I guess that is why the citizens of nations based on collectivism (in differing degrees) do not have great people to look up to, as they have some banner of their "leader" hanging from every lamp post they are force to loom up to,----for the team.
What is the alternative? Why "individual liberty" (color blind) protected by law, and a "citizen owned free enterprise system", (both your collectivism seeks to eliminate), where the sky is no limit. That is what creates a civil and prosperous society, and the USA proved it before the progressive movement.
If you will not protect individual liberty, go move to china or russia where you belong.

Looking at this now, I think that reply was too "brash". Sorry about that.
But it is about the individual. It is the individual that does well in their nation to be picked for the team. Having that same attitude to this race, (but sharing lines with your teammates is fine for this abnormal team effort), is what will win this international championship also. Why would we abandon the principles that made man great in the first place, (individualism, because free people do great things)? May be "national pride", should embrace the individuals who demonstrated the skill to be proud of, who was the individual who did it, and let them be free to do so.
