Boy I just love coffee with Tim in the mornings . this was very enlightening because my wife and i own and operate an organic farm in western ny and here by the house which used to be my grandfathers there is an old well i want to open up and use for irrigation . The water bill was huge last summer and if we could supplement with some well water we could help bring that bill down . i love the scriptures at the end of the videos. some people are afraid of proclaiming the name of God in the public. If you need to break larger concrete like that you need a hard object to drop it on so if you put a log or another piece of concrete in the middle of what you want to break and drop it that should split it. Concrete is good at compression but not tension.
Case has the best design of bucket tilt you can use, I really wish the other loader manufacturers would do something similar. If you look at how the backhoe bucket tilts back the cylinders are able to use the extension of the ram for tilt back versus dump on a standard loader. This gives the full surface area of the end of the piston without losing the area of the ram that the oil has to flow around and since pressure is pounds per square inch, the more inches of surface area the more force exerted. The backhoes and trackhoes get there strength in the curl of the bucket from the same principal. I'm wondering if you carried the PVC tiles further down the ditch into the woods and let it run out onto one of those wide pieces of concrete then covered them with soil and net fabric adding a landing that can stay grown up in grass that the natural ditch flows onto if you could slow the washout? What a way to wake up on Good Friday! A TTWT video. Kinda surprised you are filling them in, having some sort of irrigation water these days is so costly. If they keep water year round they can be useful.
Yes. I pretty much dumped every group. Since I work in local government, had an elected official comment on a group I was in and, made me realize the privacy settings were not tight enough. Only way to keep my work safe was to get off FB as much as possible. I used to run a separate account for work, but FB algorithm keeps getting rid of it.
When I bought my land I found a length of 4" PVC sticking out of the ground. That was a 360' deep water well. A bit later I found a low cut piece of 6" steel pipe in the ground(hole up) and I gauged it with a weight and a spool of fishing line at 330 yards: never did find the bottom but there was oil in the pipe. That was an unregistered wildcat oil well....Plugged that with an inflatable plug at 10' down and filled it with concrete.Well pad was perfect for building 1 of my barns.Found a bunch of old forgotten things but still looking for a spring I see flow from. It's on my list. Oh, put a pump on the well and built a well house. Flow rate of the well is unknown: haven't been able to pump it down even with the pump producing 20GPM for 24 hours.It's a good well.Testing the water was easy:drank some and didn't die. Does have a good amount of dissolved iron in the water though.

Not that big of a deal. The little machines are often faster than the larger ones due to maneuverability, etc. I get your point. Notice that when we get to tasks that are too large, we fluidly move to the larger equipment.
There was an old well on my uncle s farm and when my cousins were able to walk he wanted to fill it for safety reasons.He pumped the water from it and we picked rocks from the fields,put them in the trailer dumper and dumped them in the well.We covred the top of the well with sand and that was it.
I am very much looking forward to the end of the rigid COVID-19 spend controls we've had to put in place. This was going to be grapple acquisition time. For now I will experience using a grapple vicariously through TTWT.
Tim, would you do a video comparing the differences between backhoes on the 1025r & 2038r. Flow rates, movement speeds, reach, all the awesome stuff. I'm stuck between buying one or the other, and I would like to use the backhoe feature around my property. The price difference between the two tractors is significant, but I remember seeing when you first got the 2038r how surprised you were, when you started using the 2038R. Thanks for the excellent videos, and great information. You and your family are a true inspiration.

Had a cistern that was covered with a piece of galvanized sheet metal and a model A & T frames. The state was working on the hyw in front of the house so had the contractor dump some of the small rock he would have had to haul away, so I had saved him about two trips. It is some times better to be lucky that good.
These old wells have destroyed many a front end of tractors. A dump truck full of dirt should be enough to fill them in, they are usually only 40 feet deep.

Anyways we are needing a grapple and wonder what kind you would suggest, we were going to get one from the dealer which is the style where it is more like a plate and a big grab, it is the other kind that you didn't use in this video. Now I showed my dad the kind you used in this video and he really likes that. What would you guys recommend for someone like us who will be hauling lots of blackberry bushes...shrubs...and occasionally some logs? Easiest way to bust up that concrete without a demo hammer or hydraulic hammer it to use the big backhoe and pick up a decent size boulder and drop it from as high as you can lift it.
Place a chunk of concrete on the ground to either roll and drop the large piece on or to beat on it with a machine.... point load it so it will fracture. Sometimes have to hold it with one machine on one side of the fulcrum (picture a kids toy of the see saw) create a void space where the concrete can not distribute the force evenly.

Tim that 270B seems like a really powerful unit! Does the 2036R have a higher pump flow then the model below it? The backhoe looked not only effortless but very smooth in operation seemed to handle multiple movements with ease. Very impressed! Do you think it would run an appropriately sized mud bucket?
You don't need a thumb just need to learn how to work without. I've been operating backhoes and excavators for 20 years and hate thumbs they add so much parasitic weight when your stretched out. My favorite backhoe and excavator attachment is a tilt bucket you'd be amazed what you can pick up with one....
You should cap them old wells with bentonite clay so run off does not go into the water table in my area it is law to have a well driller cap old wells and map them

You are lucky you are not in California. You would have to have a permit form the CA EPA if that was infact a well. I believe that if it was a ground water well it would have to be professionally de-commissioned to ensure no aquifer contamination in CA.
Believe I would of pumped out FIRST, then got a camera in there to survey, may be going through MUCH NOT NEEDED work, after surveying the inside you possibly could use as a catch all to throw all the plowed up rocks & scrap stuff through out your years there, you know stuff you would possibly take to a dump site!
Tim, could this be an old sewer cesspool? You might dig a trench on the old house side and you might find the sewer pipe. It will only be a couple of feet deep.
I have a 29 ft deep, 3 ft wide well that was dug in the 1960s that I STILL use today. Best tasting water around. In the 1990s, city water became available and everyone, literally everyone went to it. Then as soon as they did, the water quality went to hell. LOL Glad to have the well now.
This durn virus is becoming more of a nightmare than just physical. Seems to me that more people need to be on their knees repenting, getting saved and pleading for help. Maybe it will open up some people's eyes, ears and hearts.

We cannot drain the tile further as it is not our property.

Take it to your states commission of environmental quality and they will test the sample.

When we get stubborn concrete that doesn’t want to break we find a big rock and drop it on it.

He went to a trade show and never found his way back to our house.
Poor Casey I would not mind coming down and looking at your toys I do garden killing myself and I'm starting to put new lawns in I just want to see what equipment I want to get
