Mengsk: Commander, the Conclave has been weakened, but I fear that we have sustained servere damage ourselves. I will steer the Norad III into the collision course with the Worldship. If I can channel enough ghost's energy through the Yamato Gun of the Norad III, I can bring swift death to the acursed abomination. Remember us, Commander, remember what was done here today. May The Confederate watch over you.
The Zerg are even more interesting here too. Just fighting for survival rather than consuming everything. And not all Zerg are mindless drones to a cerebrate. I like to think that simple-minded, brainless drones eventually become sapient and intelligent, those that lived the longest and survived the most battles. Draliska is a veteran Hydralisk.
You know, I absolutely love this justification. Rather than being some psionic energy mumbo jumbo to let the Overmind manifestation, you must destroy the Capitol. The Capitol which they built on Nagglfar's landing site. It's highly symbolic and devastating to morale. Truly, the Conclave's wisdom knows no bounds! Now we'll see how the Terrans will fight back.
I like the symbolic power Aldaris is placing into this assault. By placing the Landing of the Worldship on the original landing site of the Terran’s beginning, this can destroy Terran Morale. Losing their humble beginnings can strike a chord when someone else takes it over.
So the explanation for The Worldship needing to land on a specific spot is purely symbolic. A little bit underwhelming, but it's still fine because it fits the protoss' (and Aldaris') character pretty well.

I just realized how there's another beautiful mirrored aspect in this story. Since Stukov replaces Zeratul, he will lead the Terrans from Tarsonis to Earth. So now, instead of exiles accepting their former tyrants as refugees, it shall be tyrants welcoming back those they exiled centuries ago.
There's another reason why this makes a lot of sense. The Protoss are a unified force here; the Daelaam, Nerazim, and the Tal'Darim, all one. The tribes are managed by the Templars; the Templars answer to a unified Conclave. A clean and easy hierarchy. If the Protoss was a force like this in the original campaign, I theorise not even the Swarm would have had a chance. The Zerg came at the time the Protoss were too busy bickering with their own internal politics. But as a unified force, The Protoss are actually freakishly deadly.
Oh, they are really deadly given their technological starting advantage as the firstborn of the Xel Naga. Not even the Zerg's virulent expansions can keep up with an actual unified Protoss civilization.
So Aldaris picked the ship site for no other reason than symbolism? He wastes his troops and resources for the sake of sentimentality? That’ll never work, where’d you study tactics, boi?
I imagine it would have a serious morale impact too. It's as if you built the White House in Jamestown VA, then they decided to blow it up and build their fortress of doom there.
"though I have bore witness to countless decades, the structure you must assault is younger by only a few years" well that hit different lmao The Sky Fury looks good, I wondered why I didn't recognise its color pattern before seeing its name
I dunno why that was the line.
