  • Engwe's new E26 packs premium features at a budget price point. At only $1200, the features listed sounded too good to be true. Featuring not just a powerful 1000w motor capable of 28mph, but proper hydraulic brakes to stop those giant 26" fat tires, I figured this bike would be an absolute home run.
To my surprise, the bike lives up to expectations and offers great ride quality, range, and power at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, the unit I received had a few minor problems on unboxing, which were easy enough for me to fix, but might disappoint a new buyer. While I doubt these problems are typical for this model, I do recommend anyone purchasing an E-Bike online be prepared to do basic bike maintenance and repairs, as eventually these will be necessary on ANY bike.

The fenders fitted with rubber washers as well as the metal ones takes the rattling noise away metal on metal. Worked a treat for me.

Nice review. I bought my first eBike a couple of months ago; I have a local dedicated eBike shop so I was able to test ride several before making a decision.
I tried the Aventon Adventure 2 as the only fat tire eBike, and while the ride felt great it was noisy, I think the combined bigger motor plus bigger tires make that noise inevitable. The chain also was making odd noises, which may have just been the one I tested.
In the end I got a Magnum Peak T5 which has 2.8" tires (and a 500W motor), not as fat as the 4" tires but still much bigger than anything I've had before.

The bike I had my eye on to replace my 5 year old Rad Rhino 26’er and guess what? Not coming to the U.K. 🤦🏻‍♂️
I fully agree … if people learned the basics of ebike repair, they’d save a fortune, it’s the same here in the U.K., bike shops won’t touch e-bikes they don’t sell. As you’ve seen on my Facebook pages 99% are scared to remove the back wheel.
    Brilliant video as always buddy.

Hello my friend, do you know the maximum range on this bike? I would really like to purchase this model but I cannot find anybody on the internet that does a full battery drain range test with pedal assist or throttle only. Any information is helpful. Thank you!

electric mode if they say 40km I assume its 30km.
same goes for pas as range depends on so many variables.
best is to use two batteries to get that extra freedom range.
In essence, 30% less than optimal conditions for a ballpark figure

Why did they have to put their name in giant letters on the side? The next step would be a billboard you pull behind you. It'd be nice if you did a bit more testing of the hill climbing abilities, not all of us live someplace so flat.

There's a fairly large hill a few miles from me, maybe I'll take it over and do a more formal hill climb test.
