  • The most outstanding feature of this Engwe E26 bike, in my opinion having hardly used it, is its power. It offers 70 nm of torque meaning that for riding up hills off road, it really performs. It claims a 30 degree hill climbing capacity which I would agree with - which is steeper than any road I know of.
The bicycle can be seen and bought here :

DeliaKOL50OFF: €100 for C20 PRO, ENGINE PRO, ENGINE
The downsides of the bike are the weight and the rear gear ratio which assumes that one goes uphill only in assisted mode.
Two other downsides are easily resolved. The bike basket on the rear is ridiculously wide and does not work unless one has a step through bike - so don't bother with the bar at the top. This was offered as an option and for some reason I cannot understand now, I did not think of it. Maybe I wanted a bike that looked like a bike!

I live in a motorhome full time and travel around Europe in it. I spend most of my time in Poland, Germany and Italy. Vanlife is my life.
In my RUclips channel, I present reviews of recreational vehicles. I do this by regularly attending trade events such as CMT Stuttgart, Abenteuer und Allrad, Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, Warsaw Caravan and Camping Show and sometimes others.
I cover equipment, including 12v electrical equipment and talk a lot about lithium batteries.
I also show some of the places I have visited in Europe in my own motorhome, as well as the places you can stay at! I try to give as much coverage as I can to official campsites and free places which I use for overnighting. Therefore you can find here the aire or stellplatz that you are possibly looking for.

You're a born comic, Alan. It's laugh out loud time watching you get your leg over that huge rear rack. 😂😂😂

During filming I fell off the bike, the first thing I said whilst picking myself up was 'Did you get that?' The answer was no and there was a request to do it again. Unfortunately that would have been acting and I am not much good at that.

I'm a bike rider and wonder, why are you slinging your leg way back over the seat and basket? Tilt the bike slightly and lift your leg up and over in front of the seat. Kind of how children do when they ride a full size bike. It works for me.

That is a good idea and it is what most people do. However when the bike weighs 45kg, it is not so easy to do!

i did that with a bike with full paniers and it toppled on me....step through is best in this case, the frame is chunky enough to handle step through

I thought about getting one to go with my engine x. I already have 2 ebikes so I don't think the old dear would be too chuffed. Going to need another shed lol. My engwe is a heavy bike at 34kg but 45kg now that is heavy.

As a long time motorcycle rider, I HIGHLY recommend wearing long pants and gloves when you ride something like that, especially on gravel. If you fall, (crash), gravel can go through your skin and cause somewhat long and painful injuries to your hands and knees. Anything can happen, a dog or other large animal can run right in front of you, causing a fall. Stay safe!

Alan ..try getting your leg over infront of the seat then propping yourself back onto the seat .

I tried that but did not find it so easy. I don't think I have ever done that on my usual bike so will give it a go as an experiment.

@@VanlifewithAlan Could the frame be a little large for you mate? I have a large framed ebike and I'm 5ft 10 1/2 and I think a medium frame could of suited me better
