Nice tips! I usually leave the back pockets on until I know what I’m doing with the fabric because I will sometimes use it as a purse panel and it’s basically a free extra pocket for the purse. I would love to see a video of how you use the seam! Mine end up in my
Great jeans quilt! I made one, half of jeans, half of pink four patches, mixed. It is quite heavy, not a good choice for a baby quilt, just to mention that. My 11 year old niece loves that quilt, it looks great.
I wondered why you took the time to unpick the pockets? I normally cut around them, at an angle close to the inside seam edge. I then sew onto other projects using an almost identical coloured thread. Just another way of doing things! I too love working with used jeans, the softness and unique faded colours are great!
Hi - Do you know what might be the best way to disassemble/deconstruct denim jeans into their parts in bulk? I need to disassmeble more than 1000 pairs of jeans in bulk and I am wondering if there are machines that I can use? I can not do this with just scissors and my hands.
Oh wow. That is a lot of jeans to disassemble. I honestly don't know if there is a machine that could do that. It would definitely be too much for scissors. Perhaps talk to a fabric store or even a manufacturer that may be near you. Maybe they have some ideas. Good Luck and thanks for watching!
I don't cut mine down as far as you do so I have more waste. Good idea to salvage more. I'm also working with really, really thick fabric with the seams being more than 1/4' thick. Just a suggestion is to not have your camera on your table? Every time you patted the table the camera shook.
Unfortunately the tripod leg was touching the table on this one (an a couple of other videos too) so that accounts for the shaking. Thanks for watching and boy I know it's tough working with thick denim.
Desley, This is a free pattern. In your other comment I gave you a link to my website…here is my video tutorial for the quilt: Freeform Denim Blue Jeans Quilt **Free Pattern** ruclips.net/video/oVScKPx-m_w/видео.html. Glad you like the quilt.
Hi Claudia, I am new to quilting and seen your jean quilt recently. Have tried to get the pattern off you web site but could not find it. Thanks Desley
Hi Desley. Here is the link to the tutorial and pattern on my websitr: www.createwithclaudia.com/2020/06/freeform-denim-quilt-pattern/. I also have a video tutorial on that pattern.
IDK why there are so many tutorials on how to CUT jeans apart, this is a duh to me. Anyone know of a good one for NOT using scissors so you can reuse the jeans as jeans???
This is awesome, Claudia!!! Before, I was just cutting up a messy wad of scrap... So thank you so much!!!🥰
Thanks so much for the feedback! I’m glad this helped!

Thanks. That's a good tip if you aren't sure about what you'll be doing with the fabric.

Sounds nice!
Hi Claudia, thanks for the pattern and all the instructions. Your a great teacher, and I enjoy watching your video’s. Stay safe.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.
This is brilliant starting point thank you. Much appreciated.
Glad it was helpful!
The only thing I would like to add is that the seam come apart much faster if you just use an exactoknife/razor blade
Nice tip. Thanks for watching!

I was just looking at my pile of jeans scraps and need to work on some new things. Thanks for watching.

I rip open all the seams with the exception of the hem. I gain alot of fabric that way.
Good tip. Thanks for watching.
Hi Claudia I am willing to pay for the pattern. Thanks Desley

I save the pockets and sew them inside my hoodies so I can carry my phone, wallet and other things when I don't want to carry my purse.
Good ideas. Thanks!
