Hello, Kevin! We did a similar video tutorial on frontside buttered pretzel and it sparked a huge conflict in our local Bulgarian snowboard community. Some people claim that this trick is actually a nose butter slide 270 pretzel out, others claim that pretzels are only the tricks that are done on rails and boxes. Can you please shed some light on this, because I am getting kinda confused! PS. Great vid, you are our inspiration for us do to something similar like you, but in Bulgarian for the Bulgarian people. Keep up the great work!
I appreciate you for uploading every single day. I am going snowboarding on Feb 2-5 and your videos are really helpful, motivating and fun to watch! 😄 ı'm so excited for this season!
Great tips, great work, great channel, loving watching you videos... you got me intro snowboarding and I am loving it!!!!!!!!!! Keep it up please, and awesome work! I can not wait for get batter and start doing tricks.... what is the most difficult thin in snowboarding in you opinion ?? and how you dialed/dealing with it? what would be great sport/activities to do during summer beside skating and surfing ?? to get batter and improve your skills at snowboarding??
Hey Chris! some boys and I are planning a early summer trip up to Canada! we are looking for an area that will still have snow on the ground in June! any specific areas you recommend we look? love thie vids! you single handily taught me how to board! keep it up! love the vlogs!
Hey I love these videos because I'm just starting to snowboard, in the future do you think you could include some flaws that people have when first starting the specific skill you are teaching? Thanks!
+SnowboardProCamp I know it's not the right video for the question. Kevin, I'm 6'0 and around 154 lbs and looking for a board. Which size of Snowboard would you preffer to me?
Board Archive ok thanks TJ I will check it :) I'm interested in the Burton Ripcord from 2017. But in the Burton Shop is only the weight chart not height an weight together :/ Is that a problem?
Dario Bonk the main points are to be balanced, to use your shoulders to move slightly and felling the snow under you feet (you have to be willing to ride flat, not just trying to be as less on the edges as possible)
Hey snowboard pro camp, my dad bought me a snowboard but the height (when I'm not wearing boots) is up to my nose, is that too long? Because the only thing I'm worried about when snowboarding is having good control. I'm also a beginner
hey Kevin... so something I'm having trouble with is hitting jumps or doing ollies while I'm carving. i feel like my balance is off and i land awkwardly. i can only ollie or hit a jump when I'm going straight. any tips?
Hey Kevin have you ever mounted your camera on your board itself? I saw someone at Killington have his camera mounted that way and was wondering how good that video would be.
Board Archive wow thise are sizes i am not used too... i asked this because I sometimes think my board is too heavy for me. But maybe it is because I just need to train. I am 1.87m and only 69kg. My board is 161w
But pretzel and bagel are the names for butter or boxes with regular aproaching... I mean, when performing those tricks on a street rail/box, a pretzel could be: a) Front nose 270, b) Back nose 270, c) Front lip 270, d)Back lip 270; and the same for bagels: a) Front tail 270, b) Back tail 270, c) Front blunt 270, d)Back blunt 270. Right?
benzito thanks but it's terrible because I chose to go on an easy back diamond and my friends told me to follow them and I broke it then and I was supposed to go on vacation to a mountain this weekend
I have detuned edges on boards that I use only for rails, but the last two seasons I have been leaving my edges very sharp and have not had issues. Edge control is important!
Im afraid about the landing. I dont wanna land on the heel side of the board. Where CAN I try the landing . When im going down the mountain try to make a 360 and try to not land on the heel side or what ?
Haha when I was learning to ride I did this trick on accident. Someone fell in front of me and I was slowing down on heelside edge but because he fell so close to me I had to kinda do the 180 to dodge him.
is it possible to do a 270 pretzel 270 on a snowboard? My friend does it on skis but I can't stop my rotation once I'm on the box because of my momentum going left
I have seen it done before on a snowboard but it is VERY difficult, and you probably would not be able to do it on a box it would have to be on a round rail
Hi Kevin please make a video about the jump that TJ makes. When he jumps, he turns the board side away lift the nose and just a little bit the tail (i don't know the name of the trick).
Hey im a big fan ive been watching your videos forever you should Do a video on how to teach a beginner snowboarder because i have friends that want me to teach them but i dont know how to Approach it
Ashton Belerster yep PLEASE ! I'm in the same situation (I remember of a few things from back then when I learned the basics, but I'm sure I forgot most of it ! )
GewoonYord it all depends some people find u should go by weight others think you should go by height(that's what I think) and for height I like my boards going up to my nose. Ps it's different for different boards. EDIT: when I say different boards I mean Like park, all mountain, back country etc
GewoonYord I'm 186cm, weigh 98kgs and ride a 158. Look at weight ratings as a guide. Board construction and flex play a big role. Your size and weight are fine for that size board, you'll just probably want to only use it in the park though.
It needs to be flexy enough for you to hold a press so it really depends on you weight and strength. You should try tail presses and if they aren't too hard, that means you can do butter tricks
A more flexible snowboard will allow you to bend the board more and get into a better looking press, but Joel is right flex doesn't really matter that much as long as you are aware of your edges while you try the butter tricks!
Yesterday was the first day of my second season snowboarding.
Everything hurts, but I was able to 50/50 a box.
Kevin! You and TJ should upload a video of you doing your best, steeziest, full park laps :)
man I love TJ's style! It's so smooth and flowy. The steezeeee is real! Get him in more videos. Love all the content lately, its awesome.
+DanVal TJ has amazing style! We're doing more videos together all week!
DanVal thanks Dan! 😜
+SnowboardProCamp You guys should upload a video of you doing your steeziest, best, full park laps!

Marcos Castillo yep!!!

I appreciate you for uploading every single day. I am going snowboarding on Feb 2-5 and your videos are really helpful, motivating and fun to watch! 😄 ı'm so excited for this season!
Nergiz Kilinc where are you going ? I think i know it . You are going to Slovenia arent you ?
Dope vid! Excited to stunt on my friends with my new buttering techniques. Also really loving the daily uploads keep it up!
Still one of the best bagel and pretzel tutorial out there!
Where would you put this on a trick/butter trick progression list? Like an easier or a harder trick?
+semipro6600 I'd say it's in the harder group of butter tricks at first. But easier than the butter spin or butter 180.
think of the mood someone would have to be in to dislike this video lmfao
they probably ski alta

Hey I love these videos because I'm just starting to snowboard, in the future do you think you could include some flaws that people have when first starting the specific skill you are teaching? Thanks!
TJ looks like the kind of guy that drives a van with no windows. Great video
This video made me super hungry
+SnowboardProCamp I know it's not the right video for the question. Kevin, I'm 6'0 and around 154 lbs and looking for a board. Which size of Snowboard would you preffer to me?
ReeCon you would be fine in the 156-158 range. Make sure to check the size chart for whatever board you are interested in!
Board Archive ok thanks TJ I will check it :)
I'm interested in the Burton Ripcord from 2017. But in the Burton Shop is only the weight chart not height an weight together :/
Is that a problem?
Kevin, you're awesome, keep up the good work! could you do a video on tips for riding straight down the mountain (not on the edges)?
Dario Bonk the main points are to be balanced, to use your shoulders to move slightly and felling the snow under you feet (you have to be willing to ride flat, not just trying to be as less on the edges as possible)
Kevin, I think the bagel because when coming out of the turn it's regular and feels more comfortable. PS what settings do you record in on your gopro?
+Brodie Smith Bagel for me too! I'm recording at 1080 at 60fps in Linear mode.
Hey snowboard pro camp, my dad bought me a snowboard but the height (when I'm not wearing boots) is up to my nose, is that too long? Because the only thing I'm worried about when snowboarding is having good control. I'm also a beginner
Yes kev! Great video! Do more like these!
Hey Kevin, do you snowboard in the lower mainland a lot or usually go up to whistler?
Amazing video, thanks a lot ! Definitely adding it to my list of tricks to learn this season !
hey Kevin... so something I'm having trouble with is hitting jumps or doing ollies while I'm carving. i feel like my balance is off and i land awkwardly. i can only ollie or hit a jump when I'm going straight. any tips?
Yeah! Amazing video guys
these actually rlly fun 2 do while riding thru a boring flat area
Hey Kevin have you ever mounted your camera on your board itself? I saw someone at Killington have his camera mounted that way and was wondering how good that video would be.
Are dry slopes good to start snow boarding as I don't live near any snowy places
Awesome vid!! Gonna try this tomorrow at Bear Mtn! Thanks guys!
Thank you so much guys!
Some beginner tricks for jumps, or tips for going off jumps!
Yay a butter video!! Love these!
Btw may I ask how tall you are and what your board size is?
I am 5'10" and ride a 155 Kevin is about 6'3" and his Burton Process is a 159
Board Archive wow thise are sizes i am not used too... i asked this because I sometimes think my board is too heavy for me. But maybe it is because I just need to train.
I am 1.87m and only 69kg. My board is 161w

Right?
Awesome video, I need to practice this one!!
Tiago Fernandes
Loving the vids! Maybe you could buy a mic so you can explain the tricks while doing them
Nice vid guys, what's your setup? which board and binding do you use? Looks like a very flex one. What is TJ using?
Im riding the GNU Head Space snowboard and Union Contact bindings in this video :)
Thank you!! I'm gonna check the board. Need a new one. :)
what kind of jackets are u guys wearing ?
those pretzels look sick.
Hey Kevin, what software do you use to edit your footage?
gotta love the gunshot when he hits the landing
TJs style is awesome. Was that his own board or another demo?
Thanks man, that is my own snowboard it is the 2017 GNU Head Space
Good stuff.
Just broke my arm snow boarding trying a wall jump literally 3 hours ago, what should I do to stay ready for snowboarding?( when I can move)
Let that arm heal fully, that's about all you can do man. Best of luck, and have a quick recovery.
benzito thanks but it's terrible because I chose to go on an easy back diamond and my friends told me to follow them and I broke it then and I was supposed to go on vacation to a mountain this weekend
mahmoud saad unfortunately sometimes that's just how it goes. I've been there. Sorry bro
+mahmoud saad sorry to hear that! Work on healing up! Eat good food, exercise and watch snowboard vids!
SnowboardProCamp lol thanks, btw I'm going to whistler with 5 other people is there any way to get tickets cheap because they are a bit pricey!
what kind of camera are you using??
I'm going to move to Canada when I'm older so I can be a snowboarder

I am
Move to France so you can learn to ride in the Alps
Sure you are, pal
Codgerism wat do u wanna be then
i wish i lived closer to snow and mountains
do you guys detune your board? Coz it's really catchy when I proceed.
I have detuned edges on boards that I use only for rails, but the last two seasons I have been leaving my edges very sharp and have not had issues. Edge control is important!
Dam...You guys are good!
Im afraid about the landing. I dont wanna land on the heel side of the board. Where CAN I try the landing . When im going down the mountain try to make a 360 and try to not land on the heel side or what ?
Sick Video Bross!!!
I like this Chanel!!!!!!!
do you think you could do a video on some grabs like a method or stalefish
+Brenton Setzer sure! Great video idea!
SnowboardProCamp thanks 👍
Brenton Setzer Ya! like shift grabs
I tried this and I couldn't do it.. I can't do that little turning hop you guys do to finish the trick.. :( and if I try I fall badly
Haha when I was learning to ride I did this trick on accident. Someone fell in front of me and I was slowing down on heelside edge but because he fell so close to me I had to kinda do the 180 to dodge him.
Tj should start his own youtube channel
during the pretzel tap the tail during the rotation for that extra steez!
Looks so easy, but for me even nose and tail press are so hard to do when I ride the slope
is it possible to do a 270 pretzel 270 on a snowboard? My friend does it on skis but I can't stop my rotation once I'm on the box because of my momentum going left
also congrats on almost hitting 200k
I have seen it done before on a snowboard but it is VERY difficult, and you probably would not be able to do it on a box it would have to be on a round rail
dope vid man
Hi Kevin please make a video about the jump that TJ makes. When he jumps, he turns the board side away lift the nose and just a little bit the tail (i don't know the name of the trick).
+georgi georgiev is it a back shifty? That's the next video!
I googled it and i think so. Thank you for the response!
When I jump I tend to bring my knees back and I land on my knees... any tips
kevin I think you have a skateboard helmet you make good videos
Hey im a big fan ive been watching your videos forever you should Do a video on how to teach a beginner snowboarder because i have friends that want me to teach them but i dont know how to Approach it

floris Stumphius the pretzel goes opposite to the original direction
Do you live in Canada?
Hi, i found a board that seems perfect for me but i have my dooubt about the size. it's 156 cm while im 180cm and weigh about 83kg
GewoonYord it all depends some people find u should go by weight others think you should go by height(that's what I think) and for height I like my boards going up to my nose. Ps it's different for different boards. EDIT: when I say different boards I mean Like park, all mountain, back country etc

Just watch this on half speed from 0:14. Dude is HIGH!
i like bagel
Just cut my eye open last night starting to progress then I have to get 6 stitches man i always start to gain progress then get hurt :(
Yeah, do that with a super hard board..
Hi
U need a flexible board to butter right
It needs to be flexy enough for you to hold a press so it really depends on you weight and strength. You should try tail presses and if they aren't too hard, that means you can do butter tricks
no, but it helps!
thanks
Nope, you need edge and nose/tail control. Flex doesn't matter.
vimeo.com/61475856
A more flexible snowboard will allow you to bend the board more and get into a better looking press, but Joel is right flex doesn't really matter that much as long as you are aware of your edges while you try the butter tricks!
snowboardprocamp can you do this in the pow
B.B.B. -> Bagel uses the Back foot to press and lands Blind.
where are you?
+MattoGamer03 Blackcomb mountain in Whistler, BC, Canada
