That SF movie was pretty dope. Dude who played Ken was like they wished the Alpha version of Ken into existence to play a live action version. You need to get at me on Marvel vs Streetfighter! In my ever so humble opinion, Ryu is no.1, Ken is no.2 - The extended range of the Dragon punch isn't an advantage, it's a disadvantage as it leaves Ken wide open for punishment. Ryu is the most well-rounded with the better Dragon punch that leaves little to no room at all for any punishment, if timed properly in execution. I always thought Guile is a trash character. His moves are really cheap and kinda retarded; like that stupid looking flip kick. When playing any fighter, I always lean towards using characters with both more grounded moves and/or require more skill to use. Even when using characters that have cheap moves, I will refrain from using any - unless I get in a tight spot and have no choice. For example, I like to use Ryu but mostly use his hadoken for setup and hardly EVER use the dragon punch. I play fighters to enjoy the FIGHT; not fly around fireballs, specials and ridiculous anime inspired supers all over the place... let's go toe-to-toe!
Very interesting to hear your take and attack philosophy/strategy. There are so many styles and ways to get the job done, i find it fascinating. My ID on arcade 1up is "TurboJoe" . I would love to play you someday, no doubt.... i haven't played much online yet, ive been still trying to learn the games, I've never really played any of them on the Cabinet, but ive taken a liking to Xmen vs street fighter and Marvel Vs street fighter.... Marvel vs capcom 2 is so much better than the original, THAT should of been on the cab.
@@one_point21_gigawatts I'm sure MvC2 is way out on the A1up road map as it was done on Naomi hardware. I wouldn't want it without first having the original anyways. Having said that, Marvel vs Streetfighter is my fave on that cab as I think it has impressive move sets without all the ridiculousness MvC offers. If you're a fan of throwing Super after Super after Super and 32 hit air juggle combos, MvC is just right for you, lol. I'm also still learning X-men vs Street Fighter as I don't get alot of time to play. I'll be looking for ya - I have to setup a new account as I just got a new router. Handle will be RikkRlzz

The other 2 games are ridiculous with all the specials. I think Xmen Vs street fighter is the closest resemblance to Street fighter Alpha.
@@one_point21_gigawatts Yep I'd agree with that; X-men vs Streetfighter feels just like an Alpha for sure - seems to run at the same speed too. Marvel vs Streetfighter is the direct sequel with all the same arenas plus a few more and is slightly faster, but not as fast as MvC. A good in-between which is why I think I like it of all the super vs games. Truth be told I prefer classic SF styled fighters (yes even the original, glad to finally own it, it's historic dammit! lol). Some of my faves are Champion Edition, Hyper Fighting and Super SF (original not turbo). A couple of my favorites of all time are the original X-men: COTA and Darkstalkers - both so incredibly well balanced and challenging to beat!

Great ranking of characters, I can tell you put a lot of thought into it. The player matters more than the fighter, for sure. I'd personally place Balrog much higher, for many reasons. He's great at countering lots of moves, especially Blanka's roll/Honda's headbutt, and he's great at countering jump kicks. Practicing with Balrog will help improve your reflexes because timing is everything when it comes to being effective as him. I love using Balrog against the AI, it's almost too easy. And lastly, Balrog is great at "faking out" your opponent. You can purposely spam attacks that are not intended to hit, causing your opponent to react in ways that you can exploit by having pre-planned follow up attacks at your disposal. I love Bison because he's made to be extremely aggressive. Guile is top tier, imo, because of one huge advantage. He has the fastest cool-down time of any projectile. He can use slow sonic booms to help him close in on an opponent. Helps tremendously with opponents that have more reach than you. I also prefer Ken over Ryu because of his DP reach. Imo, Ryu's fireball is not significantly faster to make much difference. I rarely use hurricane kicks as either player because they leave you too open. Blanka is pretty good, mainly because his rolling attacks can be launched so quickly as a counter. Dhalsim is my weakest character, I never use him because he's so slow. I have seen pro's win tournaments with him but I suck with Dhalsim.
I respect your list but I would do things differently. BTW, I consider myself a top 10 best Blanka player in the world. (Ricker_1) on Fightcade 2 1. Ryu - fast projectile, dragon punch, hurricane kick knocks down opponent setting up cross-ups, best balance. 2. Bison - dizzy to dizzy, uninterruptbles, psycho crusher is too powerful, long range, walks fast. 3. Dhalsim - projectile, insane length, unblockable crossup, pressure traps + throw strategy. 4. Sagat- fast projectiles, tiger uppercut starts very low, powerful knee combos, throw creates space. 5. Ken - projectile, powerful dragon punch, hurricane kick + dragon punch is very deadly. 6. Guile - projectile, reaction after projectile is quick, flash kick keeps distance, hard to gauge crossups. 7. Blanka - fast, great length, rolls have different speeds, fatastic bite game, electricity set-ups, hard to hit. 8. Zangief - very powerful, spinning clothesline, spinning powerdriver set-ups, slow, no projectiles. 9. Balrog - very powerful, turn-around punch is hard to gauge, powerful combos, no projectiles, low jumper. 10. Vega - very fast, best throw in the game, aerial attacks, rolling claw attack is powerful, no projectiles. 11. Chun-Li - fast, great throw, neck breaker is hard to get out of, air throw, lightning kick, no projectiles, not strong. 12. E.Honda - very strong, thousand hands takes off major damage, headbutt game, no projectiles, very slow.
They improved the low tier players Balrog, Zangief, and chun li over time. Balrog's flying Headbutt definitely gave him more of a competitive chance. 🙂
I really like what you said about Dhalsim. You were insinuating that to be good with him, you need to be familiar with everyone else, not him. Totally true, IMO. And I would rank Zangief a little higher. In the hands of a Zangief specialist (Megamanx8) he's frustrating as Hell. Good video...
That would take alot of thought, and i dont think I'm experienced enough to talk about all 50 something characters LOL.... I actually saw a video recently about that topic on youtube someone broke dowm all the toons into Tiers... I may do some of the games on the MVC 1up cab.
That's a good list you came up with and my list would be very similar but I would rank Zangief as the worst character because I could never do his spinning pile driver move. Capcom made it too hard to do that move. Ryu and Ken are the best players in the game in my opinion. Ken has more reach on his dragon punch but Ryu has more reach and power on his spinning roundhouse kicks vs. Ken's spinning roundhouse kicks. With Ken's reach on his dragon punch sometimes I've been able to do a triple hit dragon punch which will dizzy any opponent who is on the receiving end. I pulled that move off in Street Fighter II Turbo for the SNES. With Ken or Ryu sometimes you can catch a knocked down opponent with the spinning roundhouse kicks just beofre they are getting up but the timing has to be right. Even if the move is blocked you can go right into a hip toss to confuse opponents and catch them off guard.
Nice Blitz, some clever trips you discover over time, im sure some tricks Capcom never intended lol. I noticed patches from SF2 to SF2 CE, to SF2 Turbo amd then Super SF2 lol.... ZanGief and Balrog are close, i gave balrog the crown because he has no throw lol.... Zangief's triple pile driver is alot easier to pull off using an arcade stick. Just like Kano in mortal Kombat, same motion. 🙂👊
I also wanted to mention a difference btwn Ken and Ryu's Spinning kick: Ryu's spins slower and is a one hit kick down. Ken's spinner is faster and will hit multiple times, and aid in dizzying.
@@one_point21_gigawatts I've played SF II Turbo extensively and the strategy changes when playing against AI opponents vs. human opponents, although that is dependent on human opponent strength because they can be exploited just like the AI can. Countering moves is critical in SF. With weak, medium, and fierce attacks you can feint to a human opponent with a weak attack to get them to open up with a move and then counter. I'll have to try the arcade stick with Zangief sometime but if a player can't pull off that spinning pile driver they are limited. I believe Zangief's spinning pile driver is the most powerful move in the game that inflicts the most damage.
@@one_point21_gigawatts You're absolutely right. Ken's spinning roundhouse kicks are good to use when a downed opponent is just about to get up to catch them with the kicks, whether they hit or get blocked a hip toss is just a button away.
Blanka is forever my guy. Back in the day I was a beast with everybody though. Now a days I’m lucky to beat a CPU on easy as fighting games have left my soul somehow but I’m about fire this one up for a podcast I’m recording and regardless of the good intel you’ve provided - I’m sticking with my man Blanka today lol
It’s interesting to see how the characters seen as bottom tier in this game improve in later SF2s. Hell, Balrog went from the worst to one of the “Big 4” characters in SSF2T, the final arcade SF2!
@@one_point21_gigawatts Hell yeah he is. Champion Edition is a weird Street Fighter 2 version, as there’s technically two versions of it. The Japanese version is slightly more balanced, a few things that helps Balrog is he can charge TAP and a better dashing punch, alongside getting out crouch animation faster, and Zangief does more damage with his SPD throw.
I love the rankings and the effort you put into this❤❤ but anyways, here are mine: Blanka I love using blanka because his jump-kick does great damage and has a good reach and his squat punch is amazing! He is easy to use, not slow and yeah. He sits at #8 E Honda: I love his fast-hand move thing, it does great damage. His punches/kicks do great damage also. His combos are really easy to pull of which makes him a good character. He is #6th. Guile: I’ve seen many players use him good but i’m not the best at using him. His sonic boom can be used in different speeds which make guile a super defensive character. He isn’t the fastest but he isn’t the worst. He sits at #7 Balrog: Balrog combos are really easy to do but his poor jumping height gives him a major disadvantage in combats. He also dosent have a leg sweep which is why I dislike balrog. He probably sits in 10th place. Vega: Vega is one of the fastest characters ever. I love using using Vega because his combos are so easy to do. I don’t know if Vega gets cornered that easily but the unpredictableness of Vega should give Vega a much better ranking than 9th. Maybe #5 Chun Li: Chun Li is a very fast character. He fast kicks are very powerful. Her jump heightand range is amazing! The only thing is that chun li’s arms and foot don’t have much range and can be easily countered by the opponent. She isn’t the worst character but not the best. Maybe 9th place. Zangief: Zangief has a low jumping height but good kick/punch distance. He rarely gets cornered and his (yeets) do great damage. His combos are EXTREMELY hard to pull off which make him the second worst character in the game. Dhalsim: I don’t like using him. He is very very slow but pretty defensive. Like Zangief, his combos are hard to pull off as well. The only part i like about him is his leg sweep. Sometimes he is low enough to go beneath a shoryuken. In my opinion, he is the worst:( Sagat: Im far from a Sagat master but I’ve seen people who use Sagat very well. With tiger of all speeds and an uppercut when the opponent jumps, he is very powerful character. I think he is #1. M. Bison: I love using M Bison, his kicks do great damage and his psycho crush is one of the deadly moves in the game. He is #2 Ryu: The main character in the game! He is a good fighter with a dp. But his predictableness give him a disadvantage. His combos are really good but require timing. He sits at #4 Ken: He has a better dp than ryu. He sits at #3
Everytime I watch your channel I go to the arcade and play a street fighter game 😂. Only thing I have to disagree on is the number 2 should be number 1. But that’s the oldest battle in the gaming world. Ryu >Ken and scorpion>sub-zero. Great video please make more like this brother
Honestly I don’t know why I’m even watching this because A) My internet is shitty so multiplayer isn’t an option for me, and B) I don’t care about multiplayer anyway. I do like Street Fighter but I don’t think a Tier List will make any difference against the AI lol I do want to say that the way you did this Tier is smart. You put characters with high learning curves in the middle, because high learning curve = good to a lot of people, but you understand that a good character is easy to learn to hard to master.
Don't their dragon punches have different penetrability? What happens when Ken and Ryu throw dragon punches into each other at the same time? I used to know this from playing sooo much but can't remember! I know that in SF2 Turbo Hyper Fighting nothing in the game penetrates Kens DP (including Ryu's DP), but I can't remember if a simultaneous Ken vs Ryu dragon punch results in that up together side-by-side thing where neither lands the DP, or whether Ken's gets through.
@@one_point21_gigawatts With two Ken opposing dragon punches, if I remember correctly what happens is that they go up side-by-side, neither DP landing, but if one of them threw their draogn punch before the other, the first one reaches the top of their dragon punch before the other (even though they are flying up more or less side-by-side) and it deactivates at the top, but the dragon punch coming from slightly below is still activated so it hits the other player. Is that what happens with a Ken vs Ryu dragon punch as well?
Good video and accurate for the most parts. However, despite your love for Guile, he definitely needs to switch spots with Chun li, that is a fact. The rest is not as clear cut. If your list is based on beginners than Zangief can be in the bottom tier, if its high level then he is definitely in top 5, I still watch pro battles even today on youtube and Zangief is a top pick along with Ryu and Bison. But if its for beginners than Chun li definitely shouldnt be there cause for beginners shes great, might not break in top 3 for pros tho. So either way its not the modt accurate breakdown but i enjoyed it

I was a champion way back then in this version using Vega because this is what I counter especially with projectiles characters. He has the best fast poking normals that I can almost interrupt normals or a special move before it will be executed and has decent range especially his D+MP. My anti-air is a standing MP at a right timing and right positioning. While poking, I just have to wait for the opponent to throw projectile and have to jump kick immediately or jump over then slam him because Vega land so fast that he beat recovery time of the animation of the projectile attack. But of course that was way back then where as mentioned in this video, complexity and combos are not yet a thing and to where just hitting or land hits is what matters.
I love using Vega, he's also great because alot of online players hardly ever see Vega, so they don't know how to defend against a human controlled Vega.
I started the game with Blanka an Dalsim. Dalsim though was difficult for me to play. When I got better i liked Ryu and Ken. Mostly because of the speed of the fireball but loved the Dragon punch. I was playing on SN against computer controlled Bison and never seen it happen this way. Bison when up off the screen and my character I think it was Ryu this time, I went up with a Dragon punch. My character when up out of view as well. You heard the punch connect and then they both came down. Bison on his back my Character on his feet. Never did see them both jump off screen like that again though. Was pretty wild. I love the game, I was only an ok player though. I was never great at it but I did enjoy playing it.
I have to say the best players are Bison, Guile , Sagat , Blanka. Sometimes executing with these players is harder than a Ken or Ryu, but I still think they are Stronger players. I still choose Ken all the time so what does that say. Hahaha.
LMFAO , EXACTLY. He's the most well rounded character to handle anyone, which makes him the BEST bro... Blanka doesn't make my top 5, but i think any of my top 8 characters can dominate.
Love the video! You planning on keeping your sf2 legacy when you get big blue, or selling the legacy cab? Kind of want to hold onto mine for commando, 1944, ghost n goblins and final fight. But also tempted to free up the space for a future cab, haha.
I'm most likely keeping mine for exactly the same reasons that you mentioned, And thank You!... Those Legacies may eventually become discontinued, so yes, im keeping it.
I never played Champion Edition enough because Super Street Fighter the new challengers was already out when I started playing it, and then I bought it on SNES. And the list surprises me, because in SSF2, Vega in my opinion is the best character. Secondly Ken, and thirdly Ryu, in this case it is for the same reason as the one you mention. And with Vega, well, it's clear that he buffed it. Now with his special jump you can grab any opponent, even Ken using Fire Shoryuken. Of course, you need the perfect timing. You can dodge very well with his jumps. The only bad thing, the lack of consistency of his combos. And I'm not sure, but in 4th place Chun Li or Cammy.
Best characters easily are Bison (broken combos, touch of death) Guile (offensive/defensive machine) Sagat (extremely strong) Vega (super fast) Ken/Ryu (can counter everything and everyone)

Ryu and Bison are the best characters in the game. Ken and Guile close behind. Ken loses head to head vs Ryu because he loses the fireball war due to Ryu's superior fireball and invincible start up tatsu, which allows Ryu to go through Ken's fireball and hit for mad damage.
I'm a Ken, Sagat & E. HONDA GUY!! I have a DECENT Dhalsim & Blanka game.. I like Ken cause I dont like Ryu or Ryu people!! And Sagat is just BADASS & FOR SOME REASON im REALLY DANGEROUS WITH E. HONDA some people have a hard time playing as him and if you get stuck on the outside it can be Ruff BUT for my in your face style he is PERFECT & I HAVE HANDLED MANY DIFFERENT PLAYERS WITH HIM MYSELF!! I crush with Balrog. And not just scrubs. There are couple of videos on youtube of me using him on Fightcade 2. Bison is the "best" as he is pure cheese and once anyone gets just somewhat competent with it they can dominate.
Guile is my best character...My number 1. . Ive played against some tournament champs that use RYU and it's still a crap shoot. individua skill l is the most deciding factor 😊
I was expecting Bison to be number 1 after watching several replays on fightcade trying to learn the game. That dude is cheap as hell. I've seen some people counter him with Ryu/Guile, but it looks as if they need to outplay the other dude, not because the characters are a good match up. Bison is so op, no other character gives me this impression.
Bison is easy to keep pressure on, he has very weak interior defense moves. Once you learn how to defend against Bison he's not OP anymore. The computer AI can use Bison against you in ways that make him seem OP.

Depends on the version but there are small differences between ken and ryu that make a big difference to play. Ken's fireball has worse startup and I think his hurricane kick isn't invincible the way Ryu's is bit his weak dragon punch has no startup and is invincible so Ken can turn the tables after a knockdown. Ryu is well rounded Ken is much better for rushing down and mixing up.
Ken's hurricane kick kinda sucks unless you're super pro at following it up in a combo. I'm not that good so I like Ryu's knockdown hurricane kick. Even then I don't really play Ryu unless its to feel out a new person I've never played before at the arcade then its right back to maining Dhalsim. Yoga Fire!!!
In Non champion edition Ryu has slightly more power with the dragon punch. in champion edition Ryu's fireball has slightly more power and speed. Ken gets more range with the dragon punch. but I believe that the power is fairly equal.
No doubt Ken is the best, with his longer arc shoryuken and his multiple tatsumaki kicks. Maybe the only advantage from Ryu is his capabillity to avoid spamers with his tatsumaki senpu kyaku.
All is ok more or less. there is a balance between Ryu and Ken. Ryu has a longer reach of legs. and his hadoken is faster. Ken has more powerful upperkcut (arjuken) which can make two hits when close(if you are experienced you can make it three - HP and quick arjuken) Ryu's uppercut is always single hit. (double if you are experienced HP + quick arjuken) Peace
Let's be honest, Ryu and Ken are just palette swaps. Bison is the best overall character. I can demolish every other character hands down. The only one I have any issue with is Ryu/Ken.

I beat anyone with chun li she had special moves. Her stump was a killer in any character. You haven't played her properly. She is best of them all. Chun li stump sorted all kens moves. Especially dragon punch 👊.
This is a very casual level list. Absolutely no way that any professional players consider Ken better than Guile, Dic, Sim, Vega, Ryu, Sagat in CE. This is objective and has been for decades. You got it all wrong.

Truth be told I prefer classic SF styled fighters (yes even the original, glad to finally own it, it's historic dammit! lol). Some of my faves are Champion Edition, Hyper Fighting and Super SF (original not turbo). A couple of my favorites of all time are the original X-men: COTA and Darkstalkers - both so incredibly well balanced and challenging to beat!

Great ranking of characters, I can tell you put a lot of thought into it.
The player matters more than the fighter, for sure.
I'd personally place Balrog much higher, for many reasons. He's great at countering lots of moves, especially Blanka's roll/Honda's headbutt, and he's great at countering jump kicks.
Practicing with Balrog will help improve your reflexes because timing is everything when it comes to being effective as him.
I love using Balrog against the AI, it's almost too easy.
And lastly, Balrog is great at "faking out" your opponent. You can purposely spam attacks that are not intended to hit, causing your opponent to react in ways that you can exploit by having pre-planned follow up attacks at your disposal.
I love Bison because he's made to be extremely aggressive.
Guile is top tier, imo, because of one huge advantage. He has the fastest cool-down time of any projectile. He can use slow sonic booms to help him close in on an opponent. Helps tremendously with opponents that have more reach than you.
I also prefer Ken over Ryu because of his DP reach. Imo, Ryu's fireball is not significantly faster to make much difference. I rarely use hurricane kicks as either player because they leave you too open.
Blanka is pretty good, mainly because his rolling attacks can be launched so quickly as a counter.
Dhalsim is my weakest character, I never use him because he's so slow. I have seen pro's win tournaments with him but I suck with Dhalsim.

3. Dhalsim - projectile, insane length, unblockable crossup, pressure traps + throw strategy.
4. Sagat- fast projectiles, tiger uppercut starts very low, powerful knee combos, throw creates space.
5. Ken - projectile, powerful dragon punch, hurricane kick + dragon punch is very deadly.
6. Guile - projectile, reaction after projectile is quick, flash kick keeps distance, hard to gauge crossups.
7. Blanka - fast, great length, rolls have different speeds, fatastic bite game, electricity set-ups, hard to hit.
8. Zangief - very powerful, spinning clothesline, spinning powerdriver set-ups, slow, no projectiles.
9. Balrog - very powerful, turn-around punch is hard to gauge, powerful combos, no projectiles, low jumper.
10. Vega - very fast, best throw in the game, aerial attacks, rolling claw attack is powerful, no projectiles.
11. Chun-Li - fast, great throw, neck breaker is hard to get out of, air throw, lightning kick, no projectiles, not strong.
12. E.Honda - very strong, thousand hands takes off major damage, headbutt game, no projectiles, very slow.

They improved the low tier players Balrog, Zangief, and chun li over time. Balrog's flying Headbutt definitely gave him more of a competitive chance. 🙂

That would take alot of thought, and i dont think I'm experienced enough to talk about all 50 something characters LOL.... I actually saw a video recently about that topic on youtube someone broke dowm all the toons into Tiers... I may do some of the games on the MVC 1up cab.
That's a good list you came up with and my list would be very similar but I would rank Zangief as the worst character because I could never do his spinning pile driver move. Capcom made it too hard to do that move. Ryu and Ken are the best players in the game in my opinion. Ken has more reach on his dragon punch but Ryu has more reach and power on his spinning roundhouse kicks vs. Ken's spinning roundhouse kicks. With Ken's reach on his dragon punch sometimes I've been able to do a triple hit dragon punch which will dizzy any opponent who is on the receiving end. I pulled that move off in Street Fighter II Turbo for the SNES. With Ken or Ryu sometimes you can catch a knocked down opponent with the spinning roundhouse kicks just beofre they are getting up but the timing has to be right. Even if the move is blocked you can go right into a hip toss to confuse opponents and catch them off guard.
Nice Blitz, some clever trips you discover over time, im sure some tricks Capcom never intended lol. I noticed patches from SF2 to SF2 CE, to SF2 Turbo amd then Super SF2 lol.... ZanGief and Balrog
are close, i gave balrog the crown because he has no throw lol.... Zangief's triple pile driver is alot easier to pull off using an arcade stick. Just like Kano in mortal Kombat, same motion. 🙂👊
I also wanted to mention a difference btwn Ken and Ryu's Spinning kick: Ryu's spins slower and is a one hit kick down. Ken's spinner is faster and will hit multiple times, and aid in dizzying.
@@one_point21_gigawatts I've played SF II Turbo extensively and the strategy changes when playing against AI opponents vs. human opponents, although that is dependent on human opponent strength because they can be exploited just like the AI can. Countering moves is critical in SF. With weak, medium, and fierce attacks you can feint to a human opponent with a weak attack to get them to open up with a move and then counter. I'll have to try the arcade stick with Zangief sometime but if a player can't pull off that spinning pile driver they are limited. I believe Zangief's spinning pile driver is the most powerful move in the game that inflicts the most damage.
@@one_point21_gigawatts You're absolutely right. Ken's spinning roundhouse kicks are good to use when a downed opponent is just about to get up to catch them with the kicks, whether they hit or get blocked a hip toss is just a button away.
in my opinion Ken's spinning kick is better than ryus because ryus spinning kick makes the opponent fall on the ground you cant from it

It’s interesting to see how the characters seen as bottom tier in this game improve in later SF2s. Hell, Balrog went from the worst to one of the “Big 4” characters in SSF2T, the final arcade SF2!

@@one_point21_gigawatts Hell yeah he is. Champion Edition is a weird Street Fighter 2 version, as there’s technically two versions of it. The Japanese version is slightly more balanced, a few things that helps Balrog is he can charge TAP and a better dashing punch, alongside getting out crouch animation faster, and Zangief does more damage with his SPD throw.
I love the rankings and the effort you put into this❤❤ but anyways, here are mine:
Blanka I love using blanka because his jump-kick does great damage and has a good reach and his squat punch is amazing! He is easy to use, not slow and yeah. He sits at #8
E Honda: I love his fast-hand move thing, it does great damage. His punches/kicks do great damage also. His combos are really easy to pull of which makes him a good character. He is #6th.
Guile: I’ve seen many players use him good but i’m not the best at using him. His sonic boom can be used in different speeds which make guile a super defensive character. He isn’t the fastest but he isn’t the worst. He sits at #7
Balrog: Balrog combos are really easy to do but his poor jumping height gives him a major disadvantage in combats. He also dosent have a leg sweep which is why I dislike balrog. He probably sits in 10th place.
Vega: Vega is one of the fastest characters ever. I love using using Vega because his combos are so easy to do. I don’t know if Vega gets cornered that easily but the unpredictableness of Vega should give Vega a much better ranking than 9th. Maybe #5
Chun Li: Chun Li is a very fast character. He fast kicks are very powerful. Her jump heightand range is amazing! The only thing is that chun li’s arms and foot don’t have much range and can be easily countered by the opponent. She isn’t the worst character but not the best. Maybe 9th place.
Zangief: Zangief has a low jumping height but good kick/punch distance. He rarely gets cornered and his (yeets) do great damage. His combos are EXTREMELY hard to pull off which make him the second worst character in the game.
Dhalsim: I don’t like using him. He is very very slow but pretty defensive. Like Zangief, his combos are hard to pull off as well. The only part i like about him is his leg sweep. Sometimes he is low enough to go beneath a shoryuken. In my opinion, he is the worst:(
Sagat: Im far from a Sagat master but I’ve seen people who use Sagat very well. With tiger of all speeds and an uppercut when the opponent jumps, he is very powerful character. I think he is #1.
M. Bison: I love using M Bison, his kicks do great damage and his psycho crush is one of the deadly moves in the game. He is #2
Ryu: The main character in the game! He is a good fighter with a dp. But his predictableness give him a disadvantage. His combos are really good but require timing. He sits at #4
Ken: He has a better dp than ryu. He sits at #3

Honestly I don’t know why I’m even watching this because A) My internet is shitty so multiplayer isn’t an option for me, and B) I don’t care about multiplayer anyway. I do like Street Fighter but I don’t think a Tier List will make any difference against the AI lol
I do want to say that the way you did this Tier is smart. You put characters with high learning curves in the middle, because high learning curve = good to a lot of people, but you understand that a good character is easy to learn to hard to master.
Don't their dragon punches have different penetrability? What happens when Ken and Ryu throw dragon punches into each other at the same time? I used to know this from playing sooo much but can't remember! I know that in SF2 Turbo Hyper Fighting nothing in the game penetrates Kens DP (including Ryu's DP), but I can't remember if a simultaneous Ken vs Ryu dragon punch results in that up together side-by-side thing where neither lands the DP, or whether Ken's gets through.
whomever has the higher Dragon punch gets the hit, if thrown at the same time.
@@one_point21_gigawatts With two Ken opposing dragon punches, if I remember correctly what happens is that they go up side-by-side, neither DP landing, but if one of them threw their draogn punch before the other, the first one reaches the top of their dragon punch before the other (even though they are flying up more or less side-by-side) and it deactivates at the top, but the dragon punch coming from slightly below is still activated so it hits the other player. Is that what happens with a Ken vs Ryu dragon punch as well?

Good video and accurate for the most parts. However, despite your love for Guile, he definitely needs to switch spots with Chun li, that is a fact. The rest is not as clear cut. If your list is based on beginners than Zangief can be in the bottom tier, if its high level then he is definitely in top 5, I still watch pro battles even today on youtube and Zangief is a top pick along with Ryu and Bison. But if its for beginners than Chun li definitely shouldnt be there cause for beginners shes great, might not break in top 3 for pros tho. So either way its not the modt accurate breakdown but i enjoyed it

Dont know about chun li being No 10. She is a nightmare to fight against.
I was a champion way back then in this version using Vega because this is what I counter especially with projectiles characters.
He has the best fast poking normals that I can almost interrupt normals or a special move before it will be executed and has decent range especially his D+MP.
My anti-air is a standing MP at a right timing and right positioning.
While poking, I just have to wait for the opponent to throw projectile and have to jump kick immediately or jump over then slam him because Vega land so fast that he beat recovery time of the animation of the projectile attack.
But of course that was way back then where as mentioned in this video, complexity and combos are not yet a thing and to where just hitting or land hits is what matters.
I love using Vega, he's also great because alot of online players hardly ever see Vega, so they don't know how to defend against a human controlled Vega.

I started the game with Blanka an Dalsim. Dalsim though was difficult for me to play. When I got better i liked Ryu and Ken. Mostly because of the speed of the fireball but loved the Dragon punch. I was playing on SN against computer controlled Bison and never seen it happen this way. Bison when up off the screen and my character I think it was Ryu this time, I went up with a Dragon punch. My character when up out of view as well. You heard the punch connect and then they both came down. Bison on his back my Character on his feet. Never did see them both jump off screen like that again though. Was pretty wild. I love the game, I was only an ok player though. I was never great at it but I did enjoy playing it.

I have to say the best players are Bison, Guile , Sagat , Blanka. Sometimes executing with these players is harder than a Ken or Ryu, but I still think they are Stronger players. I still choose Ken all the time so what does that say. Hahaha.

I never played Champion Edition enough because Super Street Fighter the new challengers was already out when I started playing it, and then I bought it on SNES.
And the list surprises me, because in SSF2, Vega in my opinion is the best character.
Secondly Ken, and thirdly Ryu, in this case it is for the same reason as the one you mention.
And with Vega, well, it's clear that he buffed it. Now with his special jump you can grab any opponent, even Ken using Fire Shoryuken.
Of course, you need the perfect timing.
You can dodge very well with his jumps. The only bad thing, the lack of consistency of his combos.
And I'm not sure, but in 4th place Chun Li or Cammy.
Dhalsim lower than Honda and Blanka? Wow, you must be skilled with those other two.
Pretty sure Ryu is better than Ken in CE. Also Dictator is by far the best character in the CE. There is really no argument there.

Ken loses head to head vs Ryu because he loses the fireball war due to Ryu's superior fireball and invincible start up tatsu, which allows Ryu to go through Ken's fireball and hit for mad damage.

I was expecting Bison to be number 1 after watching several replays on fightcade trying to learn the game. That dude is cheap as hell. I've seen some people counter him with Ryu/Guile, but it looks as if they need to outplay the other dude, not because the characters are a good match up. Bison is so op, no other character gives me this impression.
Bison is easy to keep pressure on, he has very weak interior defense moves. Once you learn how to defend against Bison he's not OP anymore. The computer AI can use Bison against you in ways that make him seem OP.

Depends on the version but there are small differences between ken and ryu that make a big difference to play. Ken's fireball has worse startup and I think his hurricane kick isn't invincible the way Ryu's is bit his weak dragon punch has no startup and is invincible so Ken can turn the tables after a knockdown. Ryu is well rounded Ken is much better for rushing down and mixing up.

Ken's hurricane kick kinda sucks unless you're super pro at following it up in a combo. I'm not that good so I like Ryu's knockdown hurricane kick. Even then I don't really play Ryu unless its to feel out a new person I've never played before at the arcade then its right back to maining Dhalsim. Yoga Fire!!!

In Non champion edition Ryu has slightly more power with the dragon punch. in champion edition Ryu's fireball has slightly more power and speed. Ken gets more range with the dragon punch. but I believe that the power is fairly equal.
I thought Ryu was the best and did more damage. Sagat is another tough sob.
It all really comes down to personal preference.
No doubt Ken is the best, with his longer arc shoryuken and his multiple tatsumaki kicks. Maybe the only advantage from Ryu is his capabillity to avoid spamers with his tatsumaki senpu kyaku.
All is ok more or less. there is a balance between Ryu and Ken. Ryu has a longer reach of legs. and his hadoken is faster. Ken has more powerful upperkcut (arjuken) which can make two hits when close(if you are experienced you can make it three - HP and quick arjuken) Ryu's uppercut is always single hit. (double if you are experienced HP + quick arjuken)

Let's be honest, Ryu and Ken are just palette swaps. Bison is the best overall character. I can demolish every other character hands down. The only one I have any issue with is Ryu/Ken.

I beat anyone with chun li she had special moves. Her stump was a killer in any character. You haven't played her properly. She is best of them all. Chun li stump sorted all kens moves. Especially dragon punch 👊.

Blanka by far the most overpowered character in the game. The only one who can match him is ryu.

@@one_point21_gigawatts he has great buttons and fantastic damage . he is incredibly safe and his psycho crusher randomly crosses up idk if you are more of a casual player or if you actually are skilled but tbh you seem like a pretty average if not below average player that is not familliar with the tech and mechanics that this game has to offer.

@goated noob it boils down to ability- Bison is low tier to average. I have fought 1000's of people online and in person. I'm qualified to talk about whatever I want about the game. lol ..
