- Join me as I react to an insightful talk by Gerhard Klostermeier about the vulnerabilities in RFID/NFC-based payment systems commonly used in university cafeterias and corporate canteens.
In this video, we explore the significant security flaws in these systems, which often rely on outdated and insecure RFID/NFC technologies.
We'll dive into the basics of these technologies and discuss real-world examples of broken systems analyzed by Gerhard.
Whether you're a tech enthusiast or concerned about digital security, this reaction video offers a deep look into the risks and realities of RFID payment systems.

hi iceman, very interesting reaction video, tnx 4 it!
i have somtimes a problem to unterstand your audio on silent parts, but ikarus is nice to understand
Glad you liked it!
I will need to fiddle with my audio filters some more.
@iceman1001 you are the legend of the feald, thank you for yout work. your name will be on the hall of fame with legends like Barnaby Jack , Bishop Fox. Just do it in your way, your charisma and your work is the best. Thank you. Respectfully
Thank you for your kind words!
It still amazes me on how they have certain securities that CAN be implimented on rfid cards but the programmer chooses to NOT impliment them. just blows my mind
At least bare minimum encrypt and sign data at rest. It would make things way harder.
Great idea, reacting to videos is great. I'll use your reactions to fact-check the speakers. Hahaha. Thanks Iceman!
🙏🏻
Its a bit fun :)

Aha, Thanks!
Good thing to get that sorted!
Dear ICEMAN, in min 21:52 what is script for show in this format , thank you for your answer , I enjoy your videos.
One lua script that generates HTML from a MIFARE Classic memory dump file.

One python script that generates a nice output as well:

Hi! You have a very interesting channel! Might I profit a bit from your wide experience? I would like to scan and to repeat data transmission between tpms activation/programming tool and tpms sensor. It's based on lf 125kHz frequency (sometimes also 175kHz or similar). This tool touches tpms sensor in order to wake it up (but it's not simple waking up but also sending some parameters). Which device and software would you recommend for doing this? The first idea was to use rfid reader but it doesn't catch this transmission. I'm guessing it's because it expects well know transmission in given format from rfid cards and this has different data structure (including perhaps different modulation etc.). Do you perhaps know any low level software for rfid card readers which would allow to store all bytes transmitted neverthless which format it is and also perhaps modify modulation etc.? Thanks a lot for help.
Yeah, the TPMS sensors are interesting indeed.
If you search on youtube for RF Village at DEF CON, then Woody did a talk about it at last year in the village.
You would get real good information out of that talk.
@@iceman1001 Thank you for answering. Do you mean the video "DEF CON 29 RF Village - Woody - How Low can you Go Vehicle Low Frequency Signals With Portapak"? As it's older and it concern mostly keyfobs. I wasn't able to find anything about tpms from the last year...
@@f2lo2 that sounds about right
@@iceman1001 Thank you!
