  • DYNAMIC AIMING
consists in the active use of the bow hand at release (Khatrah), based on a certain position of the arms reaching the maximum draw, and specific dynamics.
The people may think that I'm overly obsessed with the Khatrah technique (literally the "forward punch")...
In reality is about trying to keep always in balance the movements of the arms:
not just while loading the arrow and drawing the bow, but also at release.
It's the basic and universal principle of conserving the energy, of the action and reaction.
If we're performing a very powerful and dynamic release with the right hand (the action), exactly the same amount of power will move in the opposite direction along the left arm (the reaction), while keeping the body in perfect balance with a short core rotation (see about the Centered Drawing technique).
If the archer aloud this power to produce motion (not just keeping his bow arm still as in the static target shooting), it will naturally transformed into a "forward punch".
There is no Khatrah without snatched release, and there is no real snatched release without Khatrah.
This concept was described in the medieval Middle East archery treatises as the "double release":
"Consequently, the simultaneous release of both hands at the moment of shooting is an important principle of marksmanship. It has already been mentioned among the principles (of shooting), and is a procedure agreed upon by all experts. It should, therefore, be strictly observed without any neglect or omission.
At-Tabari warned against releasing one hand and leaving the other unreleased, lest the archer lose his aim, spoil his shot, scatter hus arrows, and disturb his accuracy.
Even though he might hit the mark while releasing one hand before the other, his method would not be good and he would not be considered an archer by experts, nor hus shooting be dependable.
He scores hit simply by persistent practice, and if he should neglect to shoot for a few days his accuracy would disappear, in contrast with the archer who releases his hands simultaneously.
The latter may stay away from his practice for several days but on his return to it little disparity is evident.
Such a person is numbered among archers by the experts." (Arab Archery, XX. chapter)

@@LAHBA nothin, i bought it second hand from someone who kept it in a storage for almost a year. Nothin weird outside, but after few draws… without warning, lower limb just cracked. Seems like the glue was not designed for tropical climates?
