    I did way more refinery pipe welding. I've never welded a k bevel. Really cool machine

    I was client witness on WPQs for some 10"x1.5" X70 offshore pipeline using an automated system and U-groove bevel. Seven passes all from the outside using an RMD process is all it took to fill that up, I think 45min per weld. Pretty slick.
    They did have some issues in the field though, quals in the shop vs actual field conditions makes a difference.

    Yea, that machine puts a root bead in fast, but you had to mess with it for how long to get aligned to bevel and then to get everything set up. Things I could in a very short time with just a grinder. Not seeing how this is faster...

      ​@@AustinHargett migraines roots? Is it possible with no grinder at all? The test I'm doing they only allow a wire brush, and 2 passes on a sch 40 4 inch. Must pass xray

    Got to work with texan RMS technicians in Burns Lake BC. Broke out on the autos and these guys made life a lot easier regarding the troubleshooting lol.

      @@Ropeniscan’t say for crc, pump co or rms on their “record” mind you this is a rental company. A lot goes into running these machines and while they supply technicians, operators, welders all can play factor.

      @@rustycollins8575if you’ve ever been on one of these jobs. There are the same amount of welders and helpers on the Row. AND more hands for the equipment. MORE jobs are made with this.
