How many decades ago was Fumio Demura MY Sensei! As the only female, too young to drive, in his class, the memories are still rich! He cut me no special slack, we were never allowed to pull punches & nobody was allowed to be gentle with me. I can still feel the effects of the single time a well placed round house nailed me in the belly! OUCH! It taught me well to avoid that sensation. The special honor of being in one of his early demonstrations, I did the BO & a few forms....wish there had been cell phones for videos back then! Moving on in life & moving to the Pacific NorthWest, adding TaeKwonDo to my passion, it was quite different from Sensei Fumio, but he was never far from my thots! There must be thousands of other early students like me who richly benefited from knowing this now Legend!
