I'd never give a thumbs down. You're spending your own time and money making these videos, which saves us our own time and money testing ammo ourselves. Always appreciated!
I love that the rifle has a factory barrel. I have a 457 varmint. It is not MTR. I installed a lighter trigger spring, installed aluminum pillars and bedding, and added bolt shims. My rifle shoots sub MOA as you can see from my avatar, and I enjoy watching your videos. Thanks.
I like your videos. It appears that you're using a Magnetospeed Sporter. I've noticed that I get a lot of misreads when I mount mine on the barrel of my Tikka T1x (presumably because there's too wide of a gap between the path of the bullet and the sensor). So, I was wondering how you're mounting your chronograph - are you using a special mount or just a thinner spacer/pad?
I actually cut the mount part off mine and built a bracket the thumb screw the used to tighten the strap. Now I have it set up so there is nothing touching the barrel. Only issue is if I want to use it on another rifle I’ll have to custom build another one off mount for every individual rifle
Great video like always. Those groups are pretty good, the last one like many a times could be the ammo. Yesterday I was at the range using SK Long Range Match at 100 yds all the rounds landed touching each other (9) and the 10th one out of the blue landed 3 inches low and to the right. I have experienced it with Lapua Long Range, Midas plus, Center X etc. yesterday I was using a Cz457 Varmint on an MDT chassis and an 8 oz Timney trigger, shooting great all morning and then “boom” a flier, then it shot 50 rounds with zero fliers. Keep this videos coming and thank you.
Hi, Can suggest you use the same mag for all your tests. I found my 457 mag/s spring tension had an effect on group size. I cut my springs and I load slower so the the top of the barrel does not skim / shape the rounds head. (The slightest mark makes a difference over 50m.)
😳Interesting…?!? I‘ll check this. If there is any reason the spring tension of my magazine harm my projectiles and changes my group size, you‘ll gonna be the next hero in the .22 lr competition scene…!
Love the channel, I have 4 different cz 457 rifles and 1 IBI barrel and 1 with a Bartlien. Share similiar ejection issues with the after market barrels. Tried different extraction tuning methods with limited success. Where did you get your volquartsen extractors in Canada?
I contacted them by email and they sent me a form to fill out for customs. Email them and mention that you saw them on my channel and your interested in getting some for your self. It was fairly simple. Best of luck
If RUclips allows I’d like to see you do the barrel swap and also have you show the extractor swap and reasons for doing it. Keep on testing! Enjoyable content.
Where do you get your ammo ?? Very difficult to find RWS in my area ( London, Ont .) Have you thought about bolt shims to adjust the headspacing ? I enjoy your videos so keep up the good work ...... Cheers
You can order it from (google accuracy plus) they have a good selection there they ship anywhere in Canada mention me and my channel if you do. Hope this helps
I love that you are doing chrono on a relevant sample size . I’m just curious if there was a lot of deviation in velocity over those last 5 shots . Great video . Thank you bro T
Great shooting as usual. You asked what we'd like to see? I'd really like to see you drop a Lilja barrel in that. From what I've seen so far, IBI barrel's fail to impress. The Lilja should make all the difference.
There are a couple of threads on RFC showing that Lilja may be slipping a bit in the QC department with some "rough" examples making their way out of the shop. Maybe the ones in stock up here are from a different run that might be better. That said, I'd be sure to ask for a quality photo of the breach and extractor cuts before sending any money over...
I think there's an endemic problem with who handles the barrel's after they leave Lilja and even mistreatment by ham fisted end users who don't know how to maintain their equipment. I've used Lilja for many years along with several associates, and they've all been extraordinary. Anschutz and Lilja are my only two choices for rimfires. Cheers. @@markthibault8579
Hmm that last group opened up a lot compared to the rest , but it’s 22lr this should be no huge surprise to anyone, the rest of those groups were awesome 👍👍👍👍
So are you using a target backer or are you sending a bunch of lead indiscriminately into a farmers bean field? Why not stack some railroad ties behind your targets?

I appreciate you guys

Another great video! Always enjoy the 22LR content.
More to come!
That grouping reflects what I get with my Anschutz M54 and special match, not so special after all. Faster than I expected, marginally supersonic
Good shooting on a beeeeautiful day Ryan. Keep on makin' them bud. Always look forward to Sunday mornings.
Thanks so much Jim!
Solid shooting I found them running off in lower temperatures but in warmer sunny days they where pretty reliable
I also experience the same results with eley
I like lot testing. It seems to provide a better idea of what ammo will do.
Shot pretty good all but that last group I don't shoot rws much but maybe I will give it a try again.good video keep up the good work 👍
Always enjoy your videos.
I appreciate that!

Ya I know what you mean it doesn’t take much of a difference in the variables to throw a flier. The nature of the beast! Cheers!
I find RWS Special Match shoots well in most guns. When are you going to try Eley with the new extractors?
Very soon

Please let me know what you find - It made a big difference to me.@@michaelgauger2306

I’m not to sure what the rules are for that I’ll dig into it and see what I can do

Ain’t bad. Rimfire we’re always chasing ammo, brand or lot number.

Last five shots were 1119, 1123, 1123, 1105, 1122. They were all pretty close so not to sure what happened there
@@BROTUNED I seem to be saying that a lot lately 😂

Where would I source one of these barrels
Really surprised at that last group considering the previous four were pretty good. Did the wind get up?
No everything was pretty equal so not a clue what happened there
In that case, bad QC. But seems strange it all seemed to happen in that one group. Everything on the scope/rifle all OK?
Hmm that last group opened up a lot compared to the rest , but it’s 22lr this should be no huge surprise to anyone, the rest of those groups were awesome 👍👍👍👍
Ya it’s to me expected from time to time
Have you already tested the rws r50 and r100? Thank you
I haven’t seen any for sale anywhere around me. I have been looking for a long time. Best I could find was special match
Nice. I love RWS. Mostly shoot R50 but this would make good for practice ammo considering the cost
I still haven’t been able to get my hands on any R50
I’ve never had good luck RWS
It's as much about the man behind the gun, as the gun itself
Where did you get your extractors
I contacted Volquartsen and I had to fill out an importing form to get it delivered
I think the last group the Tuned caffeine kicked in.
😂 I think your right
So are you using a target backer or are you sending a bunch of lead indiscriminately into a farmers bean field? Why not stack some railroad ties behind your targets?
I have a bunch of wood and a steel plate back there to catch everything
