I happens because the lighter/less dense liquid (The one with the least amount of sugar) will float on top of each other because they are lighter and an object that is less dense than water or the liquid below it will float, this process it repeated and you dyed all the mixes so if you pile them correctly you can have a water rainbow You have to put in slowly or eles it will mix, sugar water will mix very easily since it is both water but if you had Engine Oil and water it will work better cause the water can't mix with the oil so you will always have a perfect layered glass of liquid

Nico .Lorenz I have, but I think you're confusing the pipette you saw in the video with a syringe! And yes, he probably could've dont it faster by tilting the glasses and probably done it better with a 5ml syringe with a 0.8mm needle. Merry Xmas

actually they don't mix if you pour it In regularly, because density doesn't change so it will stay stacked, I learned that in science class
