Art is in the eye of the beholder and all, but it's a personal stretch for people to apply this to the military, not the defacto truth.
this song still gets me.I was adopted when I was a little baby in 72 as the years passed I found out I was adopted when I was 16 I was crushed and the adopted parents had a daughter and did everything for her as I got older I started to rebel against them when I found my birth mom it was great and met all the family when I found out who my dad was and other things in my life was bad I thought committing suicide was the answer to get back at all of them it is now 2021 and I’m still here with none of them in my life.there is not a day that goes by that I still want to do it.been dancing with my demons for to long but I will be ok for now

I was never much part of it, being an English speaker, and having dreams that would have gone unfulfilled if I were to stay there. I'm Still Here sends this message of hope out to me: if you stay strong, and resist, you'll be one of the unique ones that reach the sky.
Still makes me cry decades later... Abusive childhood with a father I idolized and a mother I often fought with. My father for the sake of his sanity would walk out a lot but always came back but even now decades later even after he's done a 180 and saved his marriage with my mother and became the best father ever to me and my brother the pain of knowing i almost lost him shatters me to tears. He was the only one bringing in income into a household of 4 and my mother never supported him never stood by him and yet even when he raged it was pain I saw in his eyes desperately needing to know he was doing enough and that he was appreciated something he never got from my mother sadly and to this day still doesn't. This song was my anthem for years, cause it perfectly describes how it is to have autism. Yet, I reckon, most people commenting here don't have autism, but still can relate to this song. It always amazes me how one specific song can be relatable to so many people who are perhaps even opposites from one another; we are much more alike than we are different :)
