For those over 55 or 60, you don't have to eat the amount 30 and 40-year-olds eat. They don't understand that yet, because they are too young. When you are older and you do this lifestyle, you are going to start detoxing your issues, so don't let that stop you, you have to detox old 30 to 40 years of behaviors and sometimes that can be painful or stressful, just stick it out, the body will eventually adjust.
I'm back on carnivore as well and the only meat I can afford is just ground beef from the grocery store. $32 for 10 lbs at Walmart. I hope this is okay, because everything else is too expensive.
I believe it's fine, looking at other carnivore sites. Dr Chaffee is a big influence on carnivores. I am sure he said that ground beef is fine. Good luck.

I think we all overcomplicate all of this. Start out with a massive elimination diet to eat just meat to lower inflammation, then from there eat real, processed foods. Minimize sugar, no processed, etc. and all good. All the titles seem to make it all so complex. Simply put, I eat mostly meat, no processed, some fruit if I feel like it and all good. Just reading all the comments criticizing her eating apples is really disappointing. I think it was Ken Berry who said in one of his videos that we must stop with the “Food Nazi” attitudes. Every persons body is different and reacts to foods differently. What works for some doesn’t work for others. Find what works for you and be happy. Also many of you that have found success need to remember where you were before and don’t be critical of others who aren’t doing something or have just started.
Love your videos! I am on carnivore and attempting to lose 30 pounds. I’ve had to focus on protein and not be afraid to eat fat. I do track my calories to make sure I’m not under eating or over eating because I’m not in tune with my satiety didn’t have bounced around with binge eating when I don’t see the scale go down.

Just got done with a 1lb. of ground beef.(first and probably last meal today) 2 small potatoes and 1/2 onion fried in butter. I have a heart condition and I am happy on straight beef, but I may not be getting enough potassium, so hence the taters. I love bacon and eggs too, I could almost live on them!!!! I also take magnesium supp. once or twice a day, I like apples too!!!!! (they are a good source of mag. also)

i had a ceramic bowl and a medal spoon. don't get caught up in allllll of the stuff, don't let it crowd you. Just do the big stuff, like eating real food. the rest will follow. its ok to eat out of plastic sometimes, the world we live in is imperfect
Paying premium plus for Grass-Fed/Finished give you premium health as compared to say Costco (grain-finished) meat? I say no. Eat the meat you can afford, don't feel restricted or that you're not benefiting from paying these prices. You certainly are. It's definately much better for your health than adding fruit and honey.
Love that farmers market in ATX. There is a guy that sells amazing goat cheese. He’s local and is normally outside the hall from the shirttail creek vendor!! Also, on Tuesdays in sun city in Georgetown, there is a guy there that sells great honey. (Animal based)

I have a grocery list out there that shows a ton of variety. you can do chicken, salmon, shrimp, sardines, different cuts of the animals (all animals) there's really a ton of variety! watch the video I think it might help :) let me know!
I've been trying for a year to go full carnivore, I cannot kick my food addictions! I can go a couple days then binge on sugar/ carbs, I don't know how to get over this!
I would experiment with high quality sardines in water. THey will kill your appetite. Mix in a can of sardines with the carnivore as needed and see if the cravings decrease (go away).
slowly and gradually ween off of htings. consider kicking other vices you have that might be causing issues -- diet coke, smoking, weed, drinking. Lots of stuff could help but keep me posted on how things go :)
you can eat lean meat, but you do need some fat in there eventually. Usually people don't do well with lean cuts of meat, so if you do eat lean cuts make sure to get tallow in there eventually to balance out

I'd probably use avocado oil or even Tallow. I have tallow linked below. You can use raw butter but it has a lower smoke point that olive oil. Cococnut or avocado oil probs :)

From what I’m seeing and experiencing myself, I would say your not getting enough fat because you were hungry and had an apple. Every meal I eat with enough fat in it I have no interest in snacking at all. But eating cheaper steak has very little fat and do satiate my belly. Trying to figure out how to add fat to a steak that’s cooked in an air fryer.
not necessarily... I eat an apple because I wanted to eat an apple. I have been coaching in this space for a long time, I can eat variety and an apple isn't doing it out of desperation, it was out of wanting to eat a sweet apple. if you need fat, go to the butchers and ask for the fat that they cut off, or you can buy tallow linked below in the video for a discount if you need an option. both work!
Don't introduce fruits and vegetables. I grow my own apples, pears, cherries, and blueberries and won't eat them anymore. Takes a few weeks to adjust to carnivore. Don't quit before the miracle happens.

Yeah! I'm making a video about this! Carnivore is pure meat. I should have titled this video "animal based" to be honest. But, I believe there is an evolution to people eating carnivore. Eventually, after a while you can add more variety in (if you want to ) and if your body needs it. For me, i just like having a sweet apple in a day and usually only twice a week. But if that's not what you want to do or it causes you problems, don't do it. Some people, some who are atheltes like myself add in fruit (like 1 here and there). It doesn't cause issues because we have high insulin sensitivity and are fat adapted enough so its pretty straight forward. The science is still out on if we should go FOREVER without adding fruit to our diet -- to be honest. There will be a lot of peple saying "she's a liar!" becauase they refuse to keep an open mind and are "rule followers" but the truth is -- literally no one FOR SURE knows the long term effects yet of 0 carbs for an entire life... not even ken berry, chaffee, me, shawn baker, etc. with that said, keep it to carnivore if that's working for you. only if / when you feel you need something extra do you add that in there. if you don't, then dont :) thanks for being here my friend

As far as what you're looking to accomplish, if you WANT to start out with just full carnivore because you have physical ailments or maybe you are overweight, etc. then I would not add the apple. If you have progressed far enough, then go for it. So if you're new, don't do the apple. If you've spent time healing the body, do you :)
if you are trying to get into ketosis, then adding an apple won't benefit you. The point of this video is not to get you into ketosis, it's to teach one how to get into carnivore or animal based. I chose animal based because I had a single apple. But if you want an orange, thats fine. Weirdly enough, grapefruits are actually the lowest in terms of spiking insulin. Tested on childen who were using ketosis to cure epilepsy.
@@laurenknighthughes An apple just doesn't have much nutrition. Apples have calories, but no significant vitamins. A Cantaloupe or pineapple would provide much more nutrition. 50/50 amount of both would be best.

(until I have gone 24 to 36 hours without eating) Have you ever seen Stephanie Keto Person? (YT) She talks about the pros and cons of carnivore and does deep dives into the subject matter.

@@ToxicSmoifShe can eat what she wants, but she's spreading false information. The reason the carnivore diet works is because it's a nutrient dense ketogenic diet (as opposed to keto, a carnivore mimicking diet). One apple a day will take you out of ketosis and minimize this diet's results.
You’re lookin at this too dogmatically. I coach on carnivore, I’ve been eating this way for years. My insulin is good, my body has told me which foods I can and cannot eat. U may not be far along enugh to know. Carnivore is a spectrum for many ppl, the point is to start off with just meat. Then u CAN add in more over time to get you more variety if you want it and need it. So, no. It’s not incorrect. It’s real, whole processed foods. Keep an eye out, most everyone has shifted toward acknowledging that one can add more variety IF their body can tolerate it.

But 90% of people watching are metabolically ill and are far from adding fruits, so what you are doing maybe be tempting and misleading for the sick people who are also carb addicted and the sugar in that sweet apple will be triggering for more. You could definitely just add electrolytes (minerals) to your water. Salt for sodium, No Salt for potassium, and food grade Epsom salt for magnesium.

Every meal I eat with enough fat in it I have no interest in snacking at all. But eating cheaper steak has very little fat and do satiate my belly. Trying to figure out how to add fat to a steak that’s cooked in an air fryer.
not necessarily... I eat an apple because I wanted to eat an apple. I have been coaching in this space for a long time, I can eat variety and an apple isn't doing it out of desperation, it was out of wanting to eat a sweet apple. if you need fat, go to the butchers and ask for the fat that they cut off, or you can buy tallow linked below in the video for a discount if you need an option. both work!

Don't introduce fruits and vegetables. I grow my own apples, pears, cherries, and blueberries and won't eat them anymore. Takes a few weeks to adjust to carnivore. Don't quit before the miracle happens.

I enjoy your video's and the info you give but, I'm confused because I thought that Carnivore is beef, bacon butter, egg, salt, fish, chicken? So why do you and some of the other Carnivore Guros keep adding fruit???
Because they don't understand that the diet works by keeping your body in ketosis. They are just plain wrong.

Carnivore is pure meat. I should have titled this video "animal based" to be honest. But, I believe there is an evolution to people eating carnivore. Eventually, after a while you can add more variety in (if you want to ) and if your body needs it. For me, i just like having a sweet apple in a day and usually only twice a week. But if that's not what you want to do or it causes you problems, don't do it. Some people, some who are atheltes like myself add in fruit (like 1 here and there). It doesn't cause issues because we have high insulin sensitivity and are fat adapted enough so its pretty straight forward.
The science is still out on if we should go FOREVER without adding fruit to our diet -- to be honest. There will be a lot of peple saying "she's a liar!" becauase they refuse to keep an open mind and are "rule followers" but the truth is -- literally no one FOR SURE knows the long term effects yet of 0 carbs for an entire life... not even ken berry, chaffee, me, shawn baker, etc.
with that said, keep it to carnivore if that's working for you. only if / when you feel you need something extra do you add that in there. if you don't, then dont :) thanks for being here my friend

They're all equally genetically modified, cause insulin spikes, and encourage sugar addiction. So I'd say go with the prettiest one.
Not to mention, eating just one apple a day has enough carbs to knock you out of ketosis... Thus nullifying most of the benefits of a carnivore diet.

If I eat a fruit, I will have a Fuji apple. Those are my favorite.
As far as what you're looking to accomplish, if you WANT to start out with just full carnivore because you have physical ailments or maybe you are overweight, etc. then I would not add the apple. If you have progressed far enough, then go for it.
So if you're new, don't do the apple. If you've spent time healing the body, do you :)

if you are trying to get into ketosis, then adding an apple won't benefit you. The point of this video is not to get you into ketosis, it's to teach one how to get into carnivore or animal based. I chose animal based because I had a single apple. But if you want an orange, thats fine. Weirdly enough, grapefruits are actually the lowest in terms of spiking insulin. Tested on childen who were using ketosis to cure epilepsy.

I chose to do more of an animal based approach on this one. If you are carnivore, just take out the apple. Same deal, just meat.
@@laurenknighthughes An apple just doesn't have much nutrition. Apples have calories, but no significant vitamins. A Cantaloupe or pineapple would provide much more nutrition. 50/50 amount of both would be best.

Great vid Lauren. I think the carnivore diet is fantastic, however some fiber and fruit I think may be beneficial. I do not get hungry anymore between meals or even when fasting. (until I have gone 24 to 36 hours without eating) Have you ever seen Stephanie Keto Person? (YT) She talks about the pros and cons of carnivore and does deep dives into the subject matter.

Fruit is not carnivore. It’s fine to include it but that’s not carnivore! Anything a vegan would eat is something I wouldn’t eat!!!

@@ToxicSmoifShe can eat what she wants, but she's spreading false information. The reason the carnivore diet works is because it's a nutrient dense ketogenic diet (as opposed to keto, a carnivore mimicking diet). One apple a day will take you out of ketosis and minimize this diet's results.

You’re lookin at this too dogmatically. I coach on carnivore, I’ve been eating this way for years. My insulin is good, my body has told me which foods I can and cannot eat. U may not be far along enugh to know.
Carnivore is a spectrum for many ppl, the point is to start off with just meat. Then u CAN add in more over time to get you more variety if you want it and need it.
So, no. It’s not incorrect. It’s real, whole processed foods. Keep an eye out, most everyone has shifted toward acknowledging that one can add more variety IF their body can tolerate it.

But 90% of people watching are metabolically ill and are far from adding fruits, so what you are doing maybe be tempting and misleading for the sick people who are also carb addicted and the sugar in that sweet apple will be triggering for more. So you should better rename your videos on animal based diet like Paul Saladino at least he is true to himself.
