    Dear Father McMahon,
    Thank you, Father McMahon, for this excellent message in your homily.
    It was lovely to meet you here in England, UK, earlier this year and we are continuing to pray for your late and faithful father and mother, Mr and Mrs McMahon.
    May God continue to bless you and your work. Your work as all the work of our SSPX priests is of such high value that we want to live in walking distance of an SSPX priory so we can assist at Holy Sacrificial Mass every day.
    God bless you, Father,
    Mr and Mrs Darley,
    Chapel of Saint Pius X Manchester UK

    Homeschooling has its disadvantages. I’ve homeschooled for 10 years. Homeschooling is the last resort. Homeschooling shelters our kids from public school. If you have the means, SSPX schools do provide formation. I have 3 kids at Lasalette. Awesome Academy. One girl at St Dominic’s. The schools do the work that I definitely cannot do. We had Fr McMahon in Calgary, Alberta. As our Prior. Wonderful Priest, lovely man and good friend.

      Thank you for this comment. As a soon to be Catholic wife and, God willing, a future Catholic mother, the Catholic education and formation of our future children is of pertinent importance, for their eternal salvation. God bless you and your family. Deo gratias. Ave Maria. JMJ 🙏🏻❤️✝️

    Dear Father,
    It's lovely to see, in the backdrop here, a photo of Archbishop Lafevbre, Founder of the great SSPX, visiting an SSPX school. This month we are 50 years old! God be praised! Hallelujah!

    Hopefully the SSPX will be able to open more schools and the SSPX sisters and Brothers will able to staff them.

      Most SSPX schools are primarily taught by young single men and women, or married folks. There are no schools that you could consider "staffed" by religious.

      @@magicattic The Dominican Sisters, who are affiliated with the SSPX and only have SSPX priests give the sacraments and retreats, have three schools here in the United States. They are almost fully staffed by Religious. In Massena, New York they have 2-3 lay teachers and the rest of the classes are taught by the Dominican nuns. St. Vincent de Paul in Kansas City has the Franciscan sisters though they teach mostly Religion classes I think. We definitely and desperately need more religious vocations so we can have more staff more children can be taught properly. I am in Texas and we sorely lack the Traditional Catholic education and unfortunately have no choice but to homeschool.

      @@kimbutler4434 Your comment is simply backing up what I said. SSPX schools are primary staffed by lay people. There are orders of nuns affiliated with the SSPX, but those are not the same. A sister teaching religion a few times a week is not "staffing" the school.

    It’s definitely a sacrifice to send the kids away for school. Money, emotion, time, airport flight issues, and Covid rules. The boarding school is worth it

      Were you able to listen to the sermon? I believe I heard Fr mention the years 2014/2015 in the sermon. He also mentions that Christmas is near so I’m going to say that this sermon was given towards the end of 2014.

    Homeschool 😊

      We have a local SSPX school. A large majority of the kids are awful, rebellious, and not interested in the faith too much after graduation. The number of high school girls who walk around town wearing skinny jeans and shorts is quite high. School aren't everything.

    • @room2327
      @room2327 2 года назад +6

      Which only proves that the school, no matter how well-staffed, cannot really take the place of parents’ instilling the Faith and teaching correct moral behavior (modesty, true charity, etc.)

    • @magicattic
      @magicattic 2 года назад

      @@room2327 Exactly. So if a parent can provide an excellent education, and a strong moral training ground for their child, they have no need of a school. However, we are told again and again that no matter what, parents should send their children to school. I have just heard a disturbing rumor that any young man applying to the seminary must have graduated from a SSPX school in order to be considered. I have no idea how they can justify this, but I'm sure they will think of something.

    • @kimbutler4434
      @kimbutler4434 2 года назад +3

      @@magicattic the numbers of vocations coming from homeschool families (who greatly outnumber the children enrolled in SSPX schools) is extremely small. I am saying that the ratio of homeschooled to SSPX graduates is not what you would expect. More often than not, kids are falling away. I do not need a school to give my children an excellent education. I have 2 daughters, one has two degrees and one is getting her masters in law however they lost their faith. Great education but lacking the community they needed so they fell away. There are other reasons as well, don't get me wrong. I can do the education part. My children needed the community, Catholic friends and the influence of the religious. I can only guess where you live that you are seeing the apparent disconnect between their education and their everyday lives. If parents do not support what is taught in school, do not back up the teachers and the priest, which causes the children to not be open to the graces being offered, how can you blame the school? I graduated from an SSPX school in the early 90's back when they were trying to get this whole thing figured out. The kids who gave a little grace and were at least open to what was trying to be taught did better than those who rejected completely and blamed the school. The parents must work with and not against the school. It is a partnership. Please be careful spreading rumors that the seminary only accepts SSPX graduates. I know applicants to convents and the seminary are sometimes sent to St. Mary's College for a year or asked to live away from home for a year, in a good Catholic community of course. I have homeschooled for 20 years, my four oldest children lost their faith after they graduated, now my younger ones are sent to boarding school. I do not have a choice. I pray you never have to watch a child lose their faith.

    • @magicattic
      @magicattic 2 года назад +3

      @@kimbutler4434 Firstly, I am not spreading rumors, ask yourself. Secondly, no one is blaming the school. I am simply saying that sending your child to an SSPX school is not going to necessarily equal kids who are good Catholics, SSPX parishioners, or strong in their faith. There are more vocations from homeschool families than you seem to think, and there are quite a few (especially lately) from guys who went to public school the whole way. Even normal SSPX schools are not pumping out vocations, it is La Salette that is a funnel for the seminary. That is normal, boys boarding schools usually are, but that is where a large group come from.
