Hey bro, I am a welder and the welds are not TIG welded, by the looks of it it was a wire feed welded probaby MIG, the weld on the flange is decent, how ever the welds in the x-pipe is kinda meh, I can see a little pinhole in one of the welds, not that it will cause any problems but pinholes in a weld can cause a leak and cracked weld later on.
Get rid of the rasp with high quality resonators like vibrants “ultra quiet” resonators, don’t really quiet the car down that much, just really tune the sound nicely
Yeah I had rasp with FI non-res CBE + FI LDP, had a shop cut and install Vibrant resonators and it completely got rid of the rasp and got an even deeper tone.
@@Legitshooter if you have the stock downpipes it’ll sound good. I upgraded to the AMS ldp and it sounded awful. Was not made to function without the secondary cat, I ended up selling and buying an ARK.

From audio clips it seems GT Haus (pricey af) and muffler delete are the best alternatives, but this sounds great. I love the motordyne on 3.7 platform but haven't found a good audio clip on 3.0tt.
Those welds are not TIG welded. They are MIG welded. It's an X pipe (summit racing) that has been MIG welded to the pipes. MIG welds are perfectly fine. Just not as nice looking as TIG. Nice vid. Thx
@@MrNicoe36cabrio yeah! It was pretty crazy when we compared it to the stock pipes... I think the stock exhaust is like 1.25" in some parts, lol. Amazing how much the turbos opened up after installing this exhaust.

There are some sound clips out there without any lower down pipes installed. There seems to be no harsh rasp, perhaps some resonators could eliminate that.

Come on guys, bigger diameter pipes do NOT yield more HP. With tuning bigger diameter pipes do become necessary but that is because you have a greater volumetric flow of exhaust gases. With stock power, bigger diameter pipes just slow down the velocity of the exhaust gases with some decrease in pressure, which is good but an optimal amount of velocity is needed to properly remove all exhaust gases from the combustion chamber. Magnaflow has a solid table that compares the volume of the engine and HP to the optimal pipe diameter.
the pipe are too big , if you are running a 3 diameter inch piping you only need one 3inch pipe for greater volumetric flow of exhaust gases and make much more power
Little bit of an update: We realized the clamps need a lot of torque to really bite and crimp down the pipes. We had to go back and torque it down using a Milwaukee Half Inch Impact Drive. As a result the whole exhaust stiffened up and we were able to fit the cross brace back in.
Yeah you have to push up on the x pipe while tightening the front flange bolts if you want a chance for it to clear the brace and it's still a very tight fit.
This is how an exhaust video should be made..very detail 👍👍
