There is something very secure and peaceful about this man! As a Jew to be honest about the Jewishness of Christianity is noble. When you have guys like Rabbi Singer who just attack and ridicule Christians. Don't get me wrong I know Dr. Boyarin is not a Christian but he's made me buy his book and hear what he wants to say. He seems like a seeker of truth.. I would like to hear his critiques also.
I am equally amazed because its here that the Muslims in the Quran claim we Christians went wrong to say Jesus is messiah and messiah is God he is Divine who is given powers and sovereignty on Davids throne and a mlak(messenger/Angel) also look at Genesis 49 v 10 to who authority belongs This is good and check on Dr,Benjamiin D,Sommers(Jew) and the bodies of God and he concludes the jews have no theological basis to reject the trinity doctrine because clearly its jewish Yahweh had a lesser Yahweh who is divine too.

How about gen 1:1 ELOHIM being plural like every other word in hebrew including elohim (false god(s) that ends in ‘im’! Perhaps the extraordinary clause is not needed! After all GOD who spoke all things absolutely extraordinary! Kinda goes with out saying and is it just or legit??? Gen 1:26 and ELOHIM said let us (plural) make man in our (plural) image….. then theres gen 19:24 two YHWH’s one on earth, one in Heaven!!! ? Isaiah 44:6 YHWH and his redeemer YHWH the lord of hosts says i am the first and i am the last and there is no GOD besides me! Christians know who the 2nd YHWH is the redeemer to the 1st YHWH! Jesus said in john 8:58 before abraham was I AM! If he isnt GOD then they would have been right to stone him! He is GOD! Oh and echad or one in deut 6:4 has two meanings! english just like hebrew one singular and one a compound unity noun like a army of one! GOD is one as in a unity! Micah 5:2 the messiah to come from bethelem and his goings forth are from everlasting or no point at which he was not going forth! The 1st century religious jewish leaders knew where to look for the messiah when the wise men from babylon came looking for he who is born king of the jews!
@@jamesbayly4181 Exactly! YHVH said "I am the First and the Last" and then reveals Himself in Revelation: "I am the First and the Last..I am He that liveth and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore." (Rev. 1:18) YHVH says He was "dead" but now "LIVES" so YHVH can be no other than Yeshua!

The High Priests - not the rank and file priests- were about to lose power.
To hold on to the river of gold and silver that flowed through the Temple, from all over the empire, they chose to Reject Jesus.
Had they accepted HIM, Rome and its empire would have been given to Israel on a Golden platter.
Instead, Jesus stripped authority away from the Temple.
And the Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus is NOT the end of the story.
The close of the Messianic age is upon us.
Jesus will be returning soon.

take note that the SON OF MAN came from "ANCIENT DAYS" in Daniel 7.13

You should assume that the Sages were versed in the Daniel, so if you read to the end of chapter 7 you'll see that "son of man" bar-nasha, "The kingship and dominion and grandeur belonging to all the kingdoms under Heaven will be given to the people of the holy ones of the Most High. Their kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey them."
Concerning Rabbi Akiva, he was a supporter of Bar Kosbah - a very earthly Messiah. How does that square with a "Godly" messiah?
