    very good video, any ideas on how to transfer the LPG from the car to a bottle? Service stations do not allow filling bottles. Thank you very much.

    • @diymade2175

      Not possible!!! For every car's LPG filling adapter: There is an "one way valve" inside filling adapter which allows only LPG through into the car's LPG tank, not the way around. However it can be done but the task will be involved too much troubles for the ordinary people, should leave it to a profession technician. Thanks.

      Good question, however I didn't pay attention regarding your concern at that time but the car's gas tank was empty completely before the bottle filling. The car's fuel gauge was in good working order, I would say the gauge needle should indicate just a little over the empty mark. Thanks for your interested!

    • @diymade2175
      @diymade2175  2 года назад +3

      Thanks for the questions ! During filling from a bottle to a car's tank, you could hear "hissing" sound, however no "hissing" could be heard when it was full (in fact, it was not necessary full, it was the pressure had been equalized between inside bottle and inside car's tank). Each car is different, in the case the video showed, a full LPG bottle had filled into a car's Tank: 10 L LPG.

  • @jacenjason3880
    @jacenjason3880 2 года назад +6

    It costs more to fill from cylinders than servo. Plus it can’t empty the cylinder only equal the pressure in both. And extremely dangerous to do with home made hoses like that.

      Why? How does it differ from a bbq grill?

      The trouble is so many servos are getting rid of their gas tanks now😕

    • @ukdave20002
      @ukdave20002 Год назад +1

      @@BorgCreations Because a BBQ grill operates at very low pressure, that's why there is a regulator from the bottle to reduce the gas pressure. When filling a tank the gas needs to be at a high pressure in order that it stored as a liquid, hence when the bottle and the tank are at the same pressure no more gas will flow.

      But you can't empty the whole spare or camping bottle, once the pressure in the car's tank is equal you are done. This is the case here. I guess there's still gas in the camping bottle. Here in Germany the smallest one got 5kg followed by 11kg Bottles and 33kg and so on. I guess the one shown is around 11kg but I'm not sure because is an Amercian Bottle North or South. I was always curious to try this but never did. Always warned that lpg and auto lpg are VERY different.
    Auto gas is not corrosive, however gas bottle lpg is. Auto lpg has an oil additive that is separated before combustion. Mechanics drain this as part of a regular service.
    This would get you by in a pinch if you ran the tank dry, but it's definitely not recommended by mechanics.
    Cool to see though
