This guy showed everyone how to kill one of these things effectively in a 2-second burst of fire, and yet there were groups of five all emptying their weapons into just one bug and it still wasn't dying
I mean they are a propaganda machine. Some video of a scientist casually defeating a giant bug with only a few bursts of fire would give troops a false sense of hope and confidence to fight
They do actually kill them effectively later in the movie, the first battle was at night and with fresh troops. By the time they get to the brain bug cave, they're killing the warriors just like this.
When I first watched starship troopers (not too long ago) and saw Neil Patrick Harris randomly show up in that first scene I thought "Well i love this movie" And later found out that Neil was the focus of every scene he was in, no matter what.
Still can't believe the sequels were completely unironic. I mean, who watched this film and thought "This needs to be remade without any wit, satire or intelligence.".
The animated series did it right taking the more serious route, since it did keep the intelligence and wit, but the movie sequels should have kept the same formula as the first.
Same thing happened to ToboCop. First film had a point about a dystopian corporation turning a dead cop into their product. Yeas, the action is cool, but that world is meant to be viewed as all around terrible.
The screenwriter or director, I can't remember which. Felt the original novel was pro fascist. I guess because only those that serve in the military are allowed to run for office or vote in the novel. So they turned a good scifi novel into hollywood satire. Sure it's funny. But it's not as good as it could have been. Also 40K was probably inspired by Starship Troopers. And 40K in term inspired Starcraft.
@@Rawsilver it was the author Robert Heinlein. In the history of the Federation armed veterans groups seized control of all the national governments and had a constitutional convention that created the Federation. Civillians still had basic human rights but to participate in the political process mandatory national/military service was required as it was felt those people showed they had a genuine commitment to the betterment of the Federation
Even if it is pro fascism you people are too dense to realize that fascism is extremely viable as a form of government. Don't lie to yourselves the only way we'll ever get to space and survive to tell the tale is through hardcore authoritarianism.
Kids let me tell you the story of what happened when Barney went to Buenos Ares. You see, he was one of the top minds of military intelligence while we were at war between the humans and arachnids. Why he dressed up like a Nazi I don't know.
Ted and Barney watching the news about Bug Aliens Barney "Imagine all the hot marine chicks" Ted "To get with any of those you'd have to be a general or something and figure out how to stop them" Barney "Challenge accepted"
I rented this movie last night on you tube after seeing it in the theatre 26 yrs ago. I didn't realize how campy it was, and had alot of hilarious off beat humor in it. It's a movie that entertains. The brain bug scene outrageous, yet thought it had a comic bent to it. More camp. 😅
Yet no one seems to know how to aim for the nerve stem or even shoot in that general direction. It takes like 3-5 soldiers to take one bug down and they can swarm platoons easily. So how was the Federation able to even keep up on the ground with their terrible tactics?
The first battle it takes 3-5 troops mag dumping, by the end of the movie they are doing what is depicted here. I guess the first time a bug charges you, it throws your training for a second and you panic. By the nth time, you do the right thing. If you live long enough to try again that is.
Most of the Roughnecks knew how to fight. It was them that got most of the casualties out, as they claimed anyway. That attack on Klendathu was a total farce, as its strategy was just pure numbers. No doubt they pulled recruits before they were finished in training to serve there. No wonder it was a total loss.
@gufu1992 Indeed. At that point, my only hope is to gain better ground and hope I don't lose any part of me in the process. As much as I love decorating, I wouldn't want my innards decorating Klendathu's landscape. Despite so much training, almost none of it virtually matters or prepares you for when an Arachnid warrior is about to rip off something you don't want ripped off. Along with surviving, I'd hope that some rounds take some of those bastards out in the process.
"And Kids, that's how Uncle Barney became a bug killing expert."
He should've killed the cockamouse.
"Soon enough he would meet auntie Robin in a cooperation with S.H.I.E.L.D"
He’s a young Coulson
Then he says to rico and suit up lol
Jesus, that guy hasn't aged a day since 97

They should’ve aimed for the nerve stem. 🤷♂️
Did you not hear NPH? He said, Aim for the nerve stem.”
They do actually kill them effectively later in the movie, the first battle was at night and with fresh troops. By the time they get to the brain bug cave, they're killing the warriors just like this.
TBF, he is a powerful psychic
This looks like something that Barney would definitely include in his video resume
awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome awesome AWESOME! AWESOOOOOOOME!
I don't remember 'The military scientist' routine from Playbook.
You might find it under the name Starship Trooper.
It's part of "Secret NASA" in the playbook.

To this day I'm still baffled.
Seeing the second one, I laugh more than I should at how serious it was about what it was doing.

@@wildkeithTobocop is quite the typo.
In this suit he looks like the SS oficer :D
That's the point. The Federation in Starship Troopers are basically a mix between Space Marines and Space Nazis.

It's not pro-fascist. It shows fascism but doesn't endorse it, with or without Nazi uniforms.

True story and it was Legend... Wait for it...ary
The hysterical woman clapping is contagious.
No wonder Barney's so secretive about his job
I expected him to say "83% combat effective"
So basically, he was the tactical genius behind the most effective use of the C-14 "Impaler" Gauss Rifle.
0:20 Are you sure you didn't mean "83% effective" Barney?...I mean...Neil? ;)
+Eliot Barley what is the joke? can you tell me?
+Anuraag Biswas (Jeet) it's a how I met your mother reference
Eliot Barley yeah, I know, but can't recall the lines.
83%
Whenever Barney makes up a statistic he always uses 83%
"Would you like to know more?"
He is still suited up...
Barney Stinson. That guys awesome.
He looks almost exactly the same now
This is just a chapter from The Playbook :D
Kids let me tell you the story of what happened when Barney went to Buenos Ares. You see, he was one of the top minds of military intelligence while we were at war between the humans and arachnids. Why he dressed up like a Nazi I don't know.
Yeah he does like nazi-esque doesn't he.
That's Hugo Boss. The nazis had a nack for fashion.
Это было леген... погоди-погоди! ...дарно!
He's very funny in Harold and Kumar!
It's like robocop and Neil Patrick Harris has not aged and still looks the same today.
Helldivers 2
of course hes wearing a suit hahaha. awesome
I swear, I was expecting him to say 83 percent...
Escape from Guantanamo Bay brought me..
This was legen.....wait for it....dary
TRUE STORY...
One of barney's pick up tricks
Ted and Barney watching the news about Bug Aliens
Barney "Imagine all the hot marine chicks"
Ted "To get with any of those you'd have to be a general or something and figure out how to stop them"
Barney "Challenge accepted"
No bugs were wounded or killed under making of this video :3
i really hope that in the future, the army will make this crappy "join in" ads

It was made as a satire to show how zany fascism is. It flopped because stupid critics thought it was actually being pro fascism.
@@wildkeith Yeah, Paul Verhoven actually wondered if putting NPH in an SS uniform, yes really, would be too obvious, but nobody got the joke.

Rookies shoots the wrong parts
Those who survive one battle or more shoots the stem
Veterans like rico kills bugs by the dozens by himself
The first battle it takes 3-5 troops mag dumping, by the end of the movie they are doing what is depicted here.
I guess the first time a bug charges you, it throws your training for a second and you panic. By the nth time, you do the right thing. If you live long enough to try again that is.
And yet, some say roaches are invincible
Playbook entry. Alien killer scientist
@movieduder1 You can't really aim for the nerve stem when you are about to get overrun by a few hundred targets.
AWESOME
Legen...would you like to know more?...dary
Hes still suited in an upwards fashion
2 words, starship fucking troopers!
Someone needs to splice a latern fly into that nph part❤❤❤
This si legen......wait for it....dary
Why is the DuckTales intro in the side bar for this?
this is legen......wait for it, i hope you're not a lactose intolerant because the next syylabel is......DARY!!!
for some reason this reminds me of tv before the Iraq invasion
That is a nice suit. I dig.
so im guessing no one in the mobile infintary watched this video or the have the accuracy of storm troopers.

My democratic officer sent me this video
True Story
No cockroachs resulted injured in this video
This must be a missing clip of barney stinson's resume!!
Dougie Houser in the Army.
Leave it to Doogie Houser to teach you the medical way to kill bugs
And that, kids, is what your uncle Barney does for a living.
Kids, your uncle Carl is a War Veteran against the Klendathu Bug Assault
Did he hit puberty twice? He sounds different than HIMYM
@freakinshortazn5 Barney : PUHLEAASEE

How did NPH look 20 for 20 years
Too bad his part was mostly cut.
Im confused is buenos aires a current city in the US?
Buenos Aires is in Argentina. Rico, Dizzy, and Carmen were all suppose to be hispanic. Don't know about Doogie Howser.
Helldivers is the best game over the superearth
They never did that in the movie.
Cockroaches were not harmed during the making of this film.
Vine por que lo menciono Franco en Sigueme el Viaje.... Pinche Barney Stinson :D
space forceeeeeee
Toymaker
why could he kill it so easy and then in the war , they will empying like a 100000 rounds into it
@imakout uh, that's 3 words
God I'm so proud to be a human.
Fuckin' aliens.
What century is this set in? The 23rd?
Weaponry would be even far more superior in taking out giant bugs etc. Just saying.
Does he ever grow old?
@762459 no, "Fucking" is the empty word for the language, it doesn't alter the wordcount.
what a cult classics
looks east german
0:36 if this was today all the strawberries would've been crying foul and getting their panties twisted about animal abuse
They’d be praising this movie about how satirical it is against fascism
so much propaganda
