Good morning, Ryan-I was listening to your live early this morning before I had to do something at work and now I’m listening to the remainder of the podcast and I agree with you David Robertson would be a nice pick up re-signing. Stanek would be a good job as well And finally go after Tanner Scott how much will it cost?
Bullpen arms - I have never been big on spending big on BP arms. Love Stearns approach of finding diamonds in the rough on short term minor/major league deals. Until we have enough arms in AAA and can use young home grown talent, I imagine Stearns approach will remain the same with BP arms in free agency. Don’t be surprised if he swings some trades before the season starts as well guys…
Kirby Yates is absolutely the best relief pitcher on the market. If you watch him on a regular basis..... you will understand. That doesn't mean I don't like Tanner Scott. I do!! Yates simply has been really good for many years and you don't have to worry about walks and you don't have to worry about him being scared.....he's used to big moments.
It would be great to have Nunez healthy for a full year. He looked like the team’s best reliever at times when he was healthy last year. Him being available and effective would be huge for the bullpen.
I'd like to see them bring back Ryne Stanek, and possibly Phil Maton. Maton was good for most of the regular season, but I think they overused him and he ran out of gas at the end.
Yeah, he was solid before he became more ineffective down the stretch. And Stanek looked fantastic at points during the playoffs. Those two back or at least one of them would make the bullpen look a lot better.
While Tanner Scott is an excellent reliever as a setup man for Edwin Díaz, it's disgusting how Ryan doesn't even mention our current lefty Anthony Gose. There's an annoying trend where players like Josh Bell and Jazz are invisible. Moreover, Jurickson Profar would add excellent hitting consistency, speed, and a quality corner outfield option. At least Ryan currently discusses him, even if dismissively. Let's Go Mets!!!
4 years scare me. 1 or 2 years. Kirby Yates was someone I wanted for YEARS! Mets need to be open to changing closers regardless of salary. The Mets lost the World Series in 2015 because of Familia who blew every game, but Collins didn’t hand the ball to someone else. The Mets need a legitimate alternative to go to. I think nunez could be that, but they need a proven closer. I think Yates is that guy who will get a high AAV shorter contract. The Mets had NO ONE they could hand the ball to last yea but that was also from getting not enough innings from their starter & it cost them A LOT of games, imho.
@@MadelaineSchmidtOttavino hasn’t re signed with the Mets and the answer to your question is no, he’s not signed with anyone else yet either. There’s still a chance the Mets can get him, but I think the person that answered your question means that the Mets will probably not re sign him. Hope this helps.
Butto should start..... he's better than most of them. It sad....he did a nice job as a starter last year and then they desperately needed bullpen help. He stepped up for them and now everyone just gave up on him as a starter. It's not fair and I wouldn't be happy if I were him.
Well Mets need great relievers sense they don't get a legitimate Ace for the rotation. Will all that money stearn don't like long term pitchers. Aces don't go for 3 yrs I think we just saw that in this off season.
Recycling Mets they not going to get anybody else just Juan Soto is going to get us to word champions no starting pitching no bullpen no first Base More of the same old Mets 😢😢😢
@@johncummings5350 I know who Kingman was and pretty sure he had 4-500 home runs. But I never actually got to watch him play because I’m only 45 years old. I know him as the guy that hit a 535 foot home run at Wrigley Field that landed on somebody’s porch. Lol.
Happy New 🎉Year❤ Ryan !!!
Sean Green was the other reliever obtained from Seattle who had a great year the year before, but he wasnt sold to the fans with much fanfare

Live, where???

When will Stingy Stearns make a move?
I thoroughly believe that if Cohen told Stearns you decide if you want Soto, Stearns would have said no.
David Robertson yes !!!
Go big in the bullpen sign Tanner Scott and Yates. Nobody touching that pen
Dom , i thought the same thing . Wonder if they would be willing to set- up

I trusted the new management had money and would spend it on the tools the win championships, pitchers, my mistake.

I believe you're thinking about Sean Green as the 3rd reliever
Very excited for nunez and srf . Reed a great guy too. Would really like stanek back if we are trying to save money
He was great in the postseason
Excited for Nunez and Kranick this year

Putz! Haha. It’s “Puts”
I did like Maton is he gone? Phil Maton?
I hope he's gone....
Terrible Stanek is gone ?????
Pete Alonso is a dufus version of Dave Kingman
But he’s our dufus and we love him.
@@Dan-tt8snHe's a better hitter than Kingman but both were very strong and fan favorites

No
Audio is terrible this video
Mets have done NOTHING to improve. No upgrade in bullpen or starters. No dh
Infield a mess. Cohen is tight ass don't want spend. No playoffs
lol! Why not just announce you are a high time preference drama Queen.
David Stearns seems to hate pitching that is even decent.
