    Love the show. If Mets can't get Pete on a short term 3-4 year deal, how about a pivot to Santander with the following set up: Move McNeil to 1B, Vientos stays at 3rd, give Acuna a shot at 2B. Santander is a switch hitter so he can be the every day DH. Trade Marte to Arizona for Montogomery, eating some money. All assumes that Santander would take something in the Joc Pederson, Teoscar 2-3 year range.

    Outside of potential for Roki, Mets may not add any more SP, but rotation craves a frontline starter. Can also see Sproat contributing at some point similar to Christian Scott last year

    As far as I'm concerned PETE should be given a five yr contract worth 27 million dollars per seasob. Anything else is an inault and a slap in the face of ALONSO. He's the most durable player in MLB, a perennial 35 to 45 hr per yr and his defense saved the rest of the infield lots of errors.

    A mailbag question. If the Mets go to a six man rotation, doesn’t that mean they have to carry one less position player? Aren’t they essentially deciding to add another pitcher- and they still need to carry the same number of bullpen arms because they will need them. Does that make their bench shorter?

    Merry Xmas Night!!! Amazing turn of events with all the experts on Pete Alonso without Pete’s consent! I will always give the Benefit of the Doubts when one dares to have unsolicited opinions about a person’s career! Pete Alonso has earned his stripes by showing his talent, desires and production in his chosen career! He needs to be left alone. All these criticisms is NOT constructive or productive but offensive! The Polar Bear 🐻‍❄️ deserves better than that! I said it before and say it again; enough is enough! All these critics are sitting in front of screens making a living for wrong analysis & assumptions! Stop it & do the right thing or keep the negative to yourselves! Nothing taught Nothing Learned! Be For Real! FantasticoMets69…over 5 Decades a Mets Fan!!

    I'll say it again. Pete Alonso is the RBI leader since 2019. He's an unbelievable player. He had a .999 OPS in the postseason. He is as good as it gets. This is not a Stearns being good at his job. This is Stearns being bad at his job. This is Stearns who also thought Houser was a good idea. With all die respect, it is buffoonery not to pay Pete. A guy who just played 162 games he is 30 years young. Are you all effin insane. 158 million wasa good deal? Soto just got 765. Lindor has that egregious contract for 10 years. NOBODY HITS HOME RUNS LIKE PETE IN THE ENTIRE NL. Entire MLB perhaps except Judge these are the effin stats since Pete joined the effin league. A bunch of clowns 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡 all of you.

    They still need Burnes . His price will come down and Cohen has the money no matter what. If they are serious about beating the dodgers they have to spend. Along with doing all the economical analytics type stuff to get undervalued talent.

    If the Mets add another pitcher, It'll be a front-line starter...no more back-end projects. No talk about Corbin Burnes. Think there's a chance for a 5-year, 1.75 m with opt-outs? He'd still have value at age 35. The Yankees signing Max Fried for the long term spooked MLB owners. Nobody wants Burnes for 7-years at 250 M plus or he' already be signed.

      Alonso is not at all what you want in a #2 hitter. He's the prototypical 4 guy. Doesn't have much besides power.

    • @TheKilrmy
      @TheKilrmy Месяц назад

      @ I can see where you’re coming from. That said, however, he is a rally killer. Strikes out so much and grounds into double plays. BUT…he has .260-.270 somewhere inside of him. Thats why I think Lindor, who doesn’t need protection, will be fine leading off in front of Alonso and Alonso will be protected by Soto so Alonso will see much better pitches which can greatly help him. Almost like a Schwarber batting leadoff deal.

    • @christodd2273
      @christodd2273 Месяц назад

      True but batting in front of Soto will give him MUCH better pitches to hit. Pete batting 4th hasn't worked because he sees I believe the second least amount of pitches in the strike zone so if he's batting in front of Soto pitchers can't pitch Pete that way because they have to deal with Soto next and we all know his eye and ability so that would be death for apposing pitchers but at the same time Vientos rakes in the number 2 spot lol that said is have Pete 2nd and Vientos 4th so have to agree with the first comment with Lindore Alanso Soto and Vientos (WOW what a top 4!)@@greggo1131

    • @christodd2273
      @christodd2273 Месяц назад

      Ya don't trade for what you can just sign him as a FA if you trade then sign him that's paying twice for the same thing and that's bad business.....forget about bad it's plain stupid business just ask the Yankees they got cocky with Soto and what happened? They didn't resign him like they were so sure they were going to so all I'm saying is be patient and wait for Vlad to hit FA and go from there who knows the Mets may sign him AND keep the prospects for a trade at this coming deadline or next off-season (after signing Vlad) to fill a need. Side note can you imagine if they DO sign bregman? Lindore Alanso Soto Vientos Bregman Nimmo Alvarez Taylor/seri and McNeil/Acuna/Iglesias
