I've been playing it for 102 hours so far. I really like it. I think there's only 4 games I've enjoyed more than this so far this generation. The world is amazing and the movement through it is ace. To me this is one of those games were when you aren't playing it you're thinking about playing it or watching RUclips vids about it. I really love the films though so that's maybe why I like it so much.

I think Austin from SkillUp said it best, It is a good game if you do not like the films. If you are a fan of the films it is an Awesome game. I will say, I like the movies(the world building is unparalleled in film imo) but I am not in love with them. However, I absolutely love this game so far. I just got my Ikran and the game got even better. It really is extremely impressive.
I brought the game & have played it for around 12 or so hours before I deleted it because I just couldn’t get into it no matter how hard I tried, the traversal I found ridiculous & the enemies would constantly kill me I just found the whole game annoying, for me it’s been a massive let down.

@@johnnyflannigan136 I've played all of the games i wanted to so far in the PS5 generation and there's only Resident Evil 4 remake, Horizon Forbidden West and Cyberpunk 2077 I've gotten more into then Avatar.

I got the game a couple days ago and me being a massive avatar fan myself , ive found it to be absolutely amazing. Theres cool references to Jake Sully from the movies and the war between the omitacaya clan and the sky people hidden around the world in notes. I dont think its too late to call it my game of the year 😂. Great review Newtro i definitely agree that this game is 100% better in first person now that ive played it myself.

If your an avatar true fan then you should know the game is terrible its boring and flat colors and graphics
You can detect what quality the plant life is by using your knobby vision and hovering the dot over the plant that way you don’t have to waste your time going up and picking it. There are also food items you can craft and for the duration of the buff, you can tell if the item is superior or exquisite quality without even having the scan with your Navi vision, it will just glow on your screen. I’m also glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed it was the same voice actor as Miles Morales and yes, doing those bases in stealth is near impossible because there’s no alarm box it’s just a random random guy starts calling for back up even if he hasn’t seen you yet

Picked up Avatar Frontiers of Pandora on PS5 and man the graphics are absolutely stunning! It’s the first game since Horizon Forbidden West that has blown me, the world of Pandora is so lush, the natural environment, lighting is top notch. Flying around on the Ikran is a treat, Far Cry Primal is one of my all time favorite games and Avatar Frontiers of Pandora captures the vibe of that game perfectly. 😊😊

Great Review I never really thought this would be my type of game, because the first person and the UI look weird but you've really opened my eyes to this great game
I honestly love the game. I have played it for probably around 100 hours now. I beat the main campaign a while ago. I just finished all the RDA bases to get 100% clean air, which took a while. So many similar bases, but they were all a little different. I actually liked this because it was almost like practice, where you'd try different stuff to see what worked and what sucked. At the beginning I was always setting off all the alarms, but then I figured out ways to come in with stealth to get more rewards. I have been to most places but still have places undiscovered on th map. One of the biggest maps, horizontally AND VERTICALLY that I have ever played. It has been so much fun. I have really good weapons now, but I am trying to learn how to cook better foods to get better loot, so I can make better weapons. I can literally play this game for hours and statistically not do much but just out there having fun. I still have so many side quests and clan contributions to do. One of my favorite games ever, plus the graphics are so sweet.
I like a game that has a full ecosysteme and can watch it interact in real time, that shows that the devs put care and love in the game and it seems they do care somewhat
The game gives the rarer animals ( superior and exquisite) a different highlight when you activate your senses. There's also a buff from a food- so that you will no longer need your senses to highlight rare plants.
You can tell the rarity of the plant by simply inspecting it.
Great Review. It's kind of an expectation from open world games now that the story and quests are sacrificed in favor of making bigger environments and its unfortunate, but at the same time Pandora seems like one great environment to get lost in. I hope you do a video in the future on your favorite open world games based on their environment.

For sure the world is amazing, and now that I have learnt how to navigate the hunters guide, the map it’s become a lot easier but it’s taken me a long time to get to this point. But I’m enjoying it and for avatar fans and for anyone who just wants an open world game to get lost in this is it!
You know the more I think about it, I think that's what makes fallout 3 for me atleast so great is that you don't have to discover to the eastern side of map in order to complete the story. You went there because you were curious, not forced too.

The game looks so damn good on a PC (13700kf, RTX 4080) that it never got frustrating to me. Just going around looking for an exquisite branch, it was an adventure, especially at night when all bioluminescent plants start to glow.140 hours in, I finished it completely.
I'm sure you know by now if you L3 when scanning a tree or item looking for higher quality it will show best quality available for that item before you harvest it does this on animals as well before you engage in killing it

I've been loving the game. Actually just restarted but had a friend help as i dropped my gear then they gave it back as I upgraded my gear to max quality. All my clothing peices are 400 health each and my health level is 3080 just from my clothing. My shortbow is 225 damage, heavy bow is 378 damage, spear thrower is 445 and long bow is 265 so I wasn't going to lose that. Got a couple if minor nitpicks with the game but I definitely love it. As an edit if you need a hand let me know as i know where all the best materials are even from rarer ones called pale

@LoveGamingNewtro look up the navaos mushroom pie and there's a noodle dish. Put them together you get perfect gather regardless of the weather and a permanent 20% stat boost to what ever you gather. Combine that with thamator and stormglider parts and pale items where you can you'll get really high level gear. I helped someone who had a heart attack thinking their bow and spearthrower was high till I crafted one and dropped it for them

@Chappers2022 it can be but definitely alot easier when you know where to find the stuff you need. Can usually get all the stuff I need to make a full set of clothes and all weapons in about an hour

Sort of like a reverse motion sickness...anyway for what it is, it seems to be damn good at it. Can't wait for u to play it on stream again.
You try changing blur settings in game and field of view if it’s available. That usually helps me. That’s what I have to do
@georgebecker2802 Tried it all, but I'll try this, too. My doctor said it was a little diagnosed form of epilepsy; however, I only have issues with 1st person games and reading while moving (cars, subways, etc)

setting exploration difficulty from normal to low resolves 90% of the grind frustration and has no effect on any other aspect of the game, for even less frustration there is an auto-hacking setting

i think the pacing is off in the game the begigng is stale until you get your flying ikram, they should have introduced a navi friend that follows you threw the first missions and helps you track plants and materials,etc,it would have reallly helped with beging and learning the game and not made it such a chore ,instead they leave you with no help and i was frustrated many times. overall i think this game does need a buddy navi to follow you to help with the fun of it,in the movie the navi work together to take out the threat and bases so i dont udnertand why they made the game so single and lonely
I do like it. More fixes and updates and more connections to the films.

I get that the gameplay is close to far cry but what sold me was the world and the environment. It’s a great world to get lost in.

The game definitely takes some time to get used to, I’m really enjoying the game so Farr, the game was confusing at first without my ikran , now that I’m able to fly I can have so much more fun

I love the films so I’m very interested. I wasn’t crazy about the first game but this looks like it is a Horizon game which is exactly what it should be. Horizon is one of my favorite games ever so this will definitely be added to the list
I decided to give this game a try with Ubisoft+. Usually I try to rush the game and finish it within the same month but I find myself taking my sweet time with this game. I like it.
Yeah you have to take your time! If you don’t then it will get overwhelming! But I’m nowhere near finished it but just enjoying it for what it is 😃

It’s not what I expected. I thought it was blue alien farcry. It doesn’t feel like farcry at all. The UI, menus and map are confusing AF too.

you can scan the branches etc to see what color it will be green yellow etc , Plus it tels you if you read it where the rare spawns...

I also enjoyed the game a lot. I haven't fonished it yet, Though. I have played more than 20 hours so far. The environment is inmersive and hacking and taking down armored soldiers has never been so fun.
You can tell what a material is before you pick it by using Navi sense and hovering your cursor on it

I noticed most of your videos have problem with colours and look so washed out, do you by any chance force HDR or adding some sort of colour LUT on top of the videos?
Hopefully my latest ones are a bit better as I changed a few things, I don’t think so but I guess I need to check!
@@LoveGamingNewtro do that! Usually ps5 forcing hdr in everything by default! And its bad for converting to RUclips! Better to have HDR off completely! That way it will look great for everyone :D which is since i noticed all your videos are in SDR so it explain it! To record HDR you need a capture card and then when you edit video you also need to convert it and output it as HDR for higher colour range which takes RUclips like 1-2 days to convert so if you stick to HDR off on your playstation then your videos will be SDR to SDR which will be accurate!

I’m on 80h so far I’d give it an 8 the crashes are the only problem for me
I liked the game. Already completed it but will say it can be a bit repetitive and the searching for exquisite materials can be frustrating. The map is also very very big with lots of things to discover so for somebody like me that’s feels the need to compete 100% of it, it feels a bit dragged out. Still a good game tho. Animations are beautiful.

I was looking forward to playing this game but didn’t want to spend the $ on it. I finally decided to bite the bullet & bought the game 3 days ago. I just started to play it today actually about half hour ago & I already I’m bored & have a feeling I’m not gonna like it. I mean there’s been games that I was about to stop playing cause I was bored but then the game picked up & I enjoyed the game. I was hoping this would be one of those games so only time will tell. I couldn’t decide between Avatar or the new Robocop game. Hope I didn’t choose poorly 😢
It has a slow start, but for good reason.. Sit back relax and take it in. Let yourself be immersed.. It's REALLY enjoyable if you let it be, I think. It makes you slow down a bit (like when you're picking the fruits and whatnot,) so it's not just mindlessly picking fruits.. It's pretty immersive... Could it be better? Maybe. But give it a real go before you give up on it.

Love your videos… I gave up on this game. I got too lost and to be honest, board. It’s a great open world game for some, but I have decided that not all open world games work for me… RUclips helped for a while, but I lost interest 😳🔫
This game certainly has issues, particularly the lazy narrative and some technical problems. However, I am still having fun with it and will probably end up putting 50-60 hours into my first playthrough.
As a whole, it it not worth $70. We are at a point where a game looking very good is just not enough of a reason to charge full price anymore.

Personally I play certain games for certain reasons and avatar was to immerse myself not to do fetch quests to buff my gear so I can play the main story and not die by one shot. this is coming from someone who recently beat lies of p, and cuphead. I’m not against a challenge, just not an unfair challenge that forces my hand to do boring side quests. So yes even on easy it is still hard.

I played the game on my 4090 in 4k and it was absolutely stunning. I skipped fetch quests but it got to the point where I had nearly 10 fetch quests backed up and I had nothing else to do and couldn't get further in the story because I was too low level. I wanted to keep going but the game was ruined by fetch quests. Had no intentions of doing any of them so I uninstalled. Too bad.
