I had to stop viewing the video, because I plan to re-read this series now 30 or 40 years later. Everything LOIS McMaster BUJOLD writes is top-notch. But, I'll check out your channel, just based on this book choise!
I have seen the authors name in the science fiction fantasy section of my library and noted quotes from her on some of the military science fiction I have read. I might have to remember her when I have the time to read and am in the mood for sci-fi.
Bujold really is good at everything - plot, character, prose, dialogue, pace, etc. She's a master of the craft.
This is a very well written novel Matty!

The second book, Warrior's, really kicked it up a notch.

She is an excellent writer. At least Warrior's Apprentice is a well written light military SF novel.
I'm glad to hear this one help up better in your review.
That it did! It was a good fun read.
I've been looking for a good military scifi series, hope you review more of this genre.
It is a very good light Military SF novel. Shards of Honor was OK, but Warrior's Apprentice was very good.
It's a great series, but much more wide-ranging than military scifi as it progresses.
Haven't read these. Any similarities to David Weber's "Honor Harrington" series?
Only superficially, much different in tone and substance. Both series are well done but separate in style.
