I had a black 02 with 19" BBS RGRs, and full Dinan5 upgrade. It was one of the best cars I've ever driven. With Dinan's suspension upgrades it handled as well at the track as the Boxster S 986, and my current WRX. The best upgrade for the money was the final drive ratio conversion.

An automatic speaks hugely of the driver. Despite this cars setup these were a wonderful driving cars deserving of a true enthusiast, sounds the part!

More then likely yes. 180,000 is near the end of its life in all honesty. Save your money and look into buying a newer bimmer.

The acceleration is a lot better with just the cold air intake and tb, but the 3.45 differential is were I got the most gains

I currently have a e39 540i M-Sport 6 speed, a e60 M5, 2012 GMC Sierra dropped and a e46 m3 sitting my driveway. The e46 is my wife’s car and we’re saving the e39 for my daughter.

Why?
Gourmetgrows running your car low on gas causes it to fail when dregs from the fuel tank get clog it. If you havent replaced it yet its probably on its way out
kampoutkid idk what you are trying to say. The only reason it would fail by running it low is is because the fuel pump will run too hot due to it not being submerged in the gas. But I’ve had the car for years with no problems with the fuel pump

The auto is amazing, I've owned 6 other manual BMW's and my 540 M-tech auto is more enjoyable to drive. It's a grownups car, manual isn't always practical.

i'm in australia and have an auto 540 i don't get all the hatred towards them it drives great,driving in traffic would not swap it for a manual i get it in an m5 but for driving around town a manual would give you the utter shits i think far to many dickheads just like to have there hand on something with a knob. gear shift is probably bigger than there dicks anyway whatever makes you feel better i guess
