- A pair of Behringer MS16 powered studio monitors speakers (P0222) we use in our theater stopped powering on. In this video I find out why and fix it.

Nice job Ward, have fun with your group.
Thank you for this valuable information. My behringer 1200w speaker does not power on. The fuse was changed out but still has no power. It's a great speaker, but having difficulty finding a speaker tech to work on my speaker. Thank you.
Wow, this was great, evry informative and helpful. I had mine since 2008 and they spent time in various storage, transport and even went cross country.. LOL but I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy new ones as my cash is t.t.t.t.tight. I don't have any electronic equipment to test things, so I decided it is probably useless to tray to do anything, but I took the casing off as you did, and followed through the whole video to get a feel for what you're doing. I could probably just get a new transformer and replace it, but it may be too hastey. I may ask my computer guy if he'd fix it for me... thanks again for the video, great stuff.
Great video ! Thank you for your helpful information . With the same issue , I was able to dig a bit deeper and opened up the transformer . Under a few layers of the Red Tape I found a Thermal Fuse which tested Open . Blog posts suggest that these fuses eventually fail just due to age .
I'll carefully test for a different root cause before reassembly with a new Thermal Fuse .
If you still have the old transformer you might find the same .
This is great info George! Never even occurred to me the windings might be fused, especially with the other fuse on the line. Well, dang, now I'm sorry I threw away the original xformer -- it fit much better in there. Thanks so much for this.
I did not find an external fuse . Behringer might have changed from one configuration to the other at some point in time . The Part ID is different also (WU57300B2h8Aa) .
Ah. More great info. Thanks.
dude, you're scaring me with that exacto knife...
What could possibly go wrong?
I aspire to be you when/if I grow up
In my experience, brownouts and spikes are more damaging than than blackouts. With the power jumping on and off a momentary power surge could have fried it. Or it could just be that the transformer was worn out from decades of being on 24/7.
Yeah. I regret putting it back together with a possibly damaged (but not failed) fuse too.
JBL nano k3 not power on what can I do?
So the first fuse u opened blowed in my ms16 but I can't get it out of the holder and now I can't read which type it is 😅 can someone help? :)
Anyways great video !!! Thx for that
Unfortunately, I was never able to figure out its specs from the markings, so I'm glad I did not have to change it. I mean, you can measure current/inrush and take a guess, but I never feel good about doing that.
Posso comprar ele pra meu estudio?
No, sorry.
I would have thrown away the amp and had 2 passive speakers
