      He also got his own signature line of Jordan sneakers, plenty of brand endorsements, and NBA contracts worth 262.5 Million dollars. And he's a guaranteed lock Hall of Famer.

      @@timekiller6163yeah, absolutely 💯 Melo won in ALOT of ways and he had an incredibly impressive career, no one can take that away from him.
      But… I believe they were talking about chips, and Melo ain’t ever win a championship in the NBA. As much positivity you can say about Melo and as much as anyone praises him for his many, many, great accomplishments: he will forever be missing that one final all-important piece, a championship ring. That’s why, despite his accolades you won’t hear many people put Melo in their top-10, cause the 10 greatest players ever all have AT LEAST 1 chip, and the ones who are regularly put in the top 3/top 3 discussion all have several rings. Not trying to take anything away from this all-time great, but all his wins would mean significantly more if he had at least once secured the most important win of all.

    As a Knicks fan that Melo trade was the worst we ever did. Amar'e Stoudemire had us playing really well. After that trade Denver immediately started playing well with our old players. Also if you check the draft pick history look at Denver today. The picks that we traded over blossomed into the dynasty that they have right now. MVPs.
    Melo was a black hole Who played so much isolation ball that he completely destroyed the entire chemistry of the team and even Porzingis & a certain dude from asia decided they had to get traded away rather than stay on that team. We lost absolutely everything. 15 years later we are still hurting.

    There was a park with a full court on my way to work in the late '90s, early '00s. Every day, I would walk past that park, and there would be 8-10 guys playing...21. Two full teams with a full court at their disposal, and they were playing 21 at one basket. I remember thinking: this is the future of basketball.

  • @grype83
    @grype83 11 месяцев назад

    Ball movement on that squad was a major problem, shump was one of the best defenders, Stoudemire was always injured, Jr Smith was either on fire or cold as ice and Carmelo Anthony refused to give the ball to anyone. I watched every game usually while yelling at my tv at the fourth quarter watching a huge lead dwindle to nothing.

      Incorrect. For you to make a statement like that you have never had the responsibility of getting things put on your shoulders. And you just don’t get nor understand much. His very last years of his career he was playing like a 6man of the year consistently. Teams were calling he could have easily hopped on a team and won a ring. But opted not to. Im not knocking anyone but Jeff green finally got his but that doesn’t make them any different. Rings are good with context. They are not everything all the time.

    Melo was never the threat he could have been, because he lacked that instinct. He had Marcus Camby, A.I., Kenyon Martin and JR Smith in his team but didn’t even come close to winning anything because he couldn’t create opportunities for his teammates. He was busy trying to be "the one".
    Now even though I don’t like LBJ, one thing about him that I respect a lot, is how he’s genuinely made his teammates better, by getting double and tripled teamed, and giving up the ball to the right hands.
