Pablo, I've been enjoying your reaction videos, and I just recently came across your channel. I will say about led zeppelin, they are an extremely talented multifaceted band. The legendary because of all of their influences. They're very bluesy, jazzy, a little funk, and a lot of rock. The rain song is one of their ballads. That's why it's a slower song. It's essentially a love song but the title of the song is very fitting. It starts off slow like a beginning of a rainstorm. The calm before the storm. It's slowly builds, and eventually gets very heavy before ending in a very calm and peaceful ending. Much like a regular rainstorm, after the storm is over you feel that sense of peace and satisfaction. The air is nice and clean. This is one of those songs that you crank up, and it's just a great feeling. It is definitely one of those songs that will grow on you. But it truly experience LED zeppelin, you will have to dive into a lot more of their catalog because every song sounds different.

I think every generation goes through mocking their elders and mocking "kids these days", but the truth of the matter is, when "the kids" reach elder stage they come to know that age is just a number if you choose to view it that way, and will admit to themselves that they were young, naive, and did their own stupid things sometimes too. That, is the real human side of the circle of life, when we come to realize we're all the same in the eyes of time.

This is one of the most beautiful rock songs/ballads written in rock and roll history. George Harrison, the Beatle, and John Bonham, Led Zeppelin's drummer, were talking. Harrison told Bonham - [You guys are really good, but the problem is you never write any ballads].
Bonham told Led Zeppelin guitarist, Jimmy Page, what Harrison said. Page said to Bonham [I'll give him a ballad !]
Jimmy Page was a bit insulted and frustrated. So, he wrote this song completely on his own. As a matter of fact, Page just released his original version of this song, which he completely composed on his own. Page plays keyboards, strings etc over the top of his guitars.
Page even used two chords from Harrison's beautiful ballad song he wrote and recorded with The Beatles entitled "Something" - those two chords became the opening chords for this song here - "The Rain Song."
This is the only song in which John Bonham used brushes on. When the song gets to the heavy take off part - Bonham switched to drum sticks. Then when the song comes back down - he goes back to brushes again. His drumming is perfect on it.
The orchestration it was played by John Paul Jones using a Mellotron, piano and of course, bass as well.
Robert Plant wrote perfect lyrics for it and his vocals are absolutely beautiful.
They played a masterful version of it live from their original release of their 1976 live album - "The Song Remains the Same" (recorded in late July of 1973). It is incredible ! 💯%
There are live videos of this song available for viewing.

What I wish I had done before my Dad passed is write down his stories. He had some. He grew up in Brawley, California and ended up running the first fast food chain, (Bob's), in Brasil. He owned a diner on Coronado Island and rubbed elbows with the rich, the powerful and royalty. His father had stories. I once asked him why he would settle in a place that's 112 degrees in the shade in summer, and he said, "This is where the mules died".
We should all be required to write our parents stories as a requirement to graduate high school. That way history won't be lost and our fathers and mothers won't be lost forever. Part of their spirit is what they've experienced and accomplished.

❤I am 68 and I am so glad that we have young folks like yourself that Love Seniors. Makes me proud. 😊 The "Rain Song, " is one of my 5 favorite songs from Led Zeppelin. I did put in a request for the song 6 months ago. But I guess you didn't get it. This song is a Masterpiece! This song is one of the most beautiful songs Led Zeppelin has composed. 😊

Senior Grandma here....so much of our music was made for listening....yes, listening , not dancing, yelling or goofing around. Just closing our eyes and creating a vision in our heads ( some had a little help, yes but not necessarily needed). LZ was a British band and that put some people off..at first. They definitely had a "sound" but never sounded the same on the next piece of music. Loved it then and still loving it today

My favorite LZ song, been a fan for 45 years. Thanks for giving it a listen tonight.
Enjoyed it over a hundred times and still gives me chills.
There’s a live version of it with Page and Plant (unplugged style) that’s a must watch.

You are the cutest ever, Son. I'm the senior now. My children are blown away by the stories I tell. Hitch hiking to see Van Halen in 1979 at the Boulder Field House, tripping on Window Pane, Ted Bundy had just escaped from Morrison. and I'm walking home alone stoned out of my mind. My poor mother. Waiting in line for Rolling Stones tickets at what was then called Mile High Stadium and smoking a joint. Guy says, Guaranteed to see Cable TV, LOL. We didn't have cable in Denver then. It was laced. Waiting in line in a snowstorm on Colfax Avenue at Budget Tapes and Records to get tickets to ZZ Top. They had a kegger. So much fun. It goes on and on. My kids are like, damn, I want those stories. No cell phones, just crazy good times.

If you took the Beach Boys, the Beatles, the Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, U2, Creedence, and Nirvana... and you distilled them down... and added a dash of Bethoven and Mozart... you would have that perfect shot of musical liquor called Led Zeppelin.

Led Zep was kind of a blues band with a rock problem, but they could also just chill sometimes. Things were a little less rushed in the 70s, they had space to make a 7 minute song that was relaxing just because they felt like it.

Growing up in the 70's, I was definitely what you would have called a "Led Head". I listened to all their albums repeatedly and anxiously awaited every new release. But the combo of the new music coming in the 80's and the massive overplay of just a handful of Zep songs on the radio had me put them aside. Aside for more than 35+ years. But recently I started going back through their catalog and began to "re-appreciate" how many truly talented mellow songs they wrote and performed so brilliantly. The name Led Zeppelin congers up "heavy metal" for almost everyone, but they were truly so diverse and talented, and wrote an incredible number of gentle and beautiful songs. If you like this one, find "Thats the Way" and ""Friends". "Thats the Way" is a heart tuggingly beautiful song that will make you sigh and smile. "Friends" is hauntingly mesmerizing, the likes I guarantee you've never before. I think you will enjoy them both, and thus starts the journey because there are so many more...

Senior year, buying the just released Houses of the Holy 8 track, riding down a country road in my car a wee bit high, and this song plays. So beautiful it makes you ache inside. “I’ll write you a ballad”, says Jimmy. Yes, indeed. Then Over the Hills and Far Away, Crunge, Dancing Days… I saw LZ in concert the first time that year. Good times. I enjoy your channel.
