Even with all the modes completed, all the endings are still pretty sad. No matter what Aya grows up to basically continue her family's legacy of violence 😢 this was interesting to see, though! Way back when I played this game there was only the main mode - which itself was a little different - so seeing everything in both Blood and If mode was... illuminating! I'm enjoying the other playthroughs you have going right now and excited to see what's next!
Another great pixel 'horror' game that you shoul play is Pocket Mirror. It can be pretty scary at some point and have multiples endings depending on your choices throughout the entiry game.
I strongly recommend the witch house, the coma 1 and 2, midnight train, stitched, yomawari midnight shadows, yomawari night alone, the mysterious files of detective inaba no. 1, no 2, no 3 , the investigation files of assistant arimura😊😂
Both parents had a weird view on love Mama Monika fulfilled her grandparents wish, the leaders of the eternal beauty cult, to continue the research and have offspring. Mama groomed Aya in hopes of her turning like her father (read her scary bedtime stories, gave her dead rats to play with, etc.). Why? Because Monika grew up like Aya: surrounded by death and screams of soon-to-be-dead people which made her cuckoo. Monika married Mad Father, a serial killer, who also was fascinated by beauty and death. Father is the typical psychopath who by nature just doesn’t feel emotions like normal people do. Killing little animals in their childhood is a real typical example of future serial murder in real life. Papa loves Aya because she’s the peak of beauty: innocent and not dirty. But soon she will turn „dirty“ by the world. His love for her is conditional. Once Aya is not beautiful anymore, Father won’t „love“ her anymore. And because we are in a video game, he’ll just turn her into a doll. Mom on the other hands wants Aya to become just like her Father and encourages her sociopathic/psychopathic behavior. Remember the bird Aya hurt when she was a child? Father said „it will hurt you when you hurt it“. Wouldn’t you say „you will hurt the bird“ tho? No, because killing animals is tainting Aya’s innocence and therefore her beauty, so she’s hurting herself in the eyes of the Father.
